In late years, there are many reports about increasing of virus infections. It is necessary to be careful not to become lacking in fatigue and sleeping for viral infections such as herpesvirus, coxsackievirus and enterovirus (case 1,5). Even if merely insect is said to stick by outdoor activity (insect bite), the quick treatment is expected in the case of a face without having a scar, and knowledge about a rare disorder to need appropriate judgment is demanded (case 2,3). As for the cervical adenitis (case 4) with pyrexia, many causes are thought about, but it is necessary for infectious mononucleosis to know that it is causal one with a young woman

    超音波検査法による左室機能の計測 : B-mode法とm. Simpson法による比較

The purpose of this study was to evaluate between left ventricular functions measured by B-mode method and m.Simpson method and to investigate whether B-mode method was valuable for endurance exercise ability and training effect. As a result, cardiac output and ejection fraction measured by B-mode method was significantly higher than that measured by m.Simpson method. In addition, there was significantly positive correlation between left ventricular functions measured by B-mode method and m.Simpson method. These results were suggested that left ventricular functions measured by B-mode method was overestimated in comparison with m.Simpson method, however both methods were correlated significantly. Therefore, B-mode method was valuable for general exercise endurance ability and training effect

It is reported that viral infections have been increasing recent years. An epidemic parotitis is an acute systemic mumps viral infection that occurs most commonly in children, and clinically characterized by non-suppurative parotitis. Parotitis, meningitis, orchitis, and pancreatitis are clinical manifestations of mumps. The differential diagnosis of parotitis includes infections caused by other virus or bacteria. We experience two cases of parotitis. First is an 18-year-old female with bacterial parotitis, and second is a case of 33-year-old male orchitis with epidemic parotitis. Although sterility caused by orchitis is an uncommon complication, it is important for adults to make new viral preventive strategy against such as Mumps

The purpose of this study was to clarify the change in baPWV (brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity) before to after the ski training. Ski instructor of nine men and five women participated in this study (age: 45.0±9.7years, range: 29~60, mesan±SD). The resting heart rate, blood pressure and baPWV was measured before to after ski training. The resting heart rate, blood pressure and baPWV have not changed before to after the ski training. As for baPWV, Neither right baPWV nor left baPWV changed before to after ski training. (Right p=0.450, left p=0.242). These results suggest that the five days of ski training does not influence on baPWV

    女子アスリートにおけるトレッドミル走行または歩行によるVO_2-kineticsでの運動能力の評価

To evaluate the exercise performance of the time constant in the VO_2-kinetics in female athletes, we made examination of VO_2 max and the oxgen uptake kinetics (VO_2) during treadmill running (seven females) or walking (eight females). In the study of the treadmill running, the time constant of the VO_2-kinetics was significantly correlated with VO_2 max. In the study of the treadmill walking, however the time constant of the VO_2-kinetics was not significantly correlated with VO_2 max. Our results suggest that the time constant of VO_2 kinetics may perform something different from anaerobic threshold or VO_2 max that are widely used as exercise performance

We made examination between body composition and urinary growth hormone or urinary testosterone in pubertal female athletes. There was no correlation between body composition and urinary growth hormone, and there was also no correlation between body composition and urinary testosterone. There were no significant changes in growth hormone between early morning urine and at any time urine. Our results were not fully concomitant with previous studies, so further examination is needed in urine study of growth hormone or testosterone

It is important for us as doctors or trainers to keep writing papers on rare cases. We experience three rare cases of respiratory disease. First is a 44-year-old male with allergic broncho pulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) whose complain is chest pain. He is improved by the treatment of prednisolone. Second is a severe case of 20-year-old female with mycoplasma pneumonia accompanied with encephalopaty. She is also improved by the treatment of MINO and RKM. Third is a 69-year-old female with liver cirrhosis accompanied with hypoxemia (hepatopulmonary syndrome). Liver cirrhosis can the cause of right to left shunt. Hepatopulmonary syndrome will be well treated by liver transplantation

This research of the second stage executed mainly the comparison of the basic researches into two years. The chief purpose was clarification of a universal part of two years. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The reason for participation and the target of acquisition were "Cheap expenditure", "Course credit", "Basic experience in natural environment" and "Sharing of enjoy a pleasant time with friend". 2. "Aggressiveness to the preparation", "Effective action of the orientation etc.", "Lack of prior study", "Uniformity of environment adaptation power", and "Height of the expectation" were observed as well as last year. 3. The level of student\u27s leadership was guidance of life in the outdoors activity. 4. The factor analysis has extracted the following six factors. "Accomplishment of obligation and responsibility", "Human interaction and self-satisfaction", "Impartiality and democracy", "Health condition", "The mind and body\u27s stability" and "Appropriate practice". 5. The method of the participation of students in the outdoors activity has changed independently and positively. The practice exerted the good influence on students\u27 "Standpoint and attitude". The practice was effective in understanding and goodwill to nature

Mycoplasma pneumonia is a well-known cause of community-acquired pneumonia, and has a variety of appearances on radiographs of the chest. A 31-year-old man with a solitary mass on chest radiograph with dry cough visited our hospital. Transbronchial lung biopsy from the upper lung showed type II pneumocyte hyperplasia. We treated him with clarithromycin given the low probability of Mycoplasma pneumonia, resulting in improvement. Mycoplasma pneumonia can appear as solitary mass on chest radiographs

This research of the third stage executed mainly the comparison of the basic researches into three years. The chief purpose was clarification of a universal part of three years. The results were summarized as follows : 1. The reason for participation was "Cheap expenditure" and "Course credit". The expected program was "Observation of constellation" and "Outdoors cooking". The expectation in the practice was "Memories-making", "Experience of happiness", "Harmony with nature", "Build healthy human relationships" and "Acquisition of knowledge and technology". Own acquisition target was "Basic technique" and "Safe procedure". 2. A new problem was a discovery of the method of thoroughly improving student\u27s knowledge and technologies. 3. Student\u27s leadership was extent to be able to do "Life guidance" and "Standard program". 4. The factor analysis has extracted the following six factors. "Mutual guidance and Consideration", "Charge program and Satisfaction", "Inspiration and Commitment", "Health condition and Stability", "Appropriate amount of activity" and "Guidance of program and Uneasiness". 5. The attitude to the student\u27s outdoors activities has changed independent and positively. The practice gave the good influence to student\u27s "Standpoint and Attitude". The practice was effective in "Understanding and Goodwill" to nature
