Lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma with hematologic signs and PD-L1 over-expression
Lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma (LPRM) is one of the rarest variants of grade I meningiomas. It can be clinically associated with prominent peripheral blood abnormalities, anemia, and/or various gammopathy, which usually disappear after surgical removal of the tumor. We document a case of right frontal LPRM in a 72-year-old male who presented general cognitive decadence. The patient suffered from mild anemia. The LPRM is a rare variant of meningioma, with only a few cases globally reported in the literature. It has been categorized as a grade I tumor in the 2021 World Health Organization (WHO) classification central nervous system. Due to the rarity, this meningioma variant origin and biological behavior are still not clear. Immunohistochemistry profile showed prominent PD-L1 expression, leading to additional interrogation on LPRM immunomorphological characteristics, the significance of the inflammatory tumoral microenvironment and its correlation with the immune-checkpoints

Pathologist's approach to paediatric and neonatal eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders
Children are not simply miniature adults. The evaluation of their gastrointestinal disorders is therefore different from that in full-grown adults and requires a particular clinical/pathologic approach. : Different studies have tried to assess the normal eosinophil distribution in the gastrointestinal tract in adults while very few studies have investigated the paediatric population, consequently complicating the pathologist's ability in identifying an abnormal number of eosinophils in this setting of patients. : When evaluating gastrointestinal tract biopsies with eosinophilia, eosinophilic count must be considered along with other histological features like eosinophil distribution in the gastrointestinal wall, their degranulation, cryptitis and crypt abscesses, other accompanying inflammatory cells, apoptotic bodies, foreign material or microorganisms; these findings, although rarely specific, may be a useful aid for diagnosis. : Reports should not include a diagnosis of primary eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders (EoGID) if clinical data and test results do not rule out other forms of gastrointestinal eosinophilia. A more descriptive definition like "with eosinophilic pattern" should be favoured over a specific diagnosis of "eosinophilic disorder" in order to avoid potential confusion between different entities
Diagnostic Concordance of Phyllodes Tumour of the Breast
Background: Phyllodes tumours (PT) are rare and distinct breast tumours, which span a morphological continuum. Classification into benign, borderline and malignant categories reflects their biology and clinical behaviour and is essential to guide management. This study aims to assess the diagnostic agreement of PT using the UK National Health Service Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) breast pathology external quality assurance (EQA) scheme data. Methods: 26 PTs were identified in the EQA scheme, which were diagnosed by an average of 607 participants/circulation. Data on diagnostic categories were collected, and representative slides were reviewed. The level of concordance between reporting pathologists was assessed. Results: There were 14 benign, 6 borderline and 6 malignant PT. The overall rate of diagnosis agreement was 86% when analysed as benign lesions, borderline PT and malignant lesions, which decreased to 79% when diagnosed as PT (irrespective of grade) and to 63% when the diagnosis was further refined to PT categories (benign, borderline and malignant PTs). The highest agreement rate was observed in malignant PT (86%) and the lowest in borderline PT (42%). Malignant heterologous elements, stromal overgrowth and leaf-like architecture are features associated with higher concordance rates. Lower priority features were stromal expansion, clefting, and multinodularity. Conclusion: The concordance of PT diagnosis, as an entity, is high, but its classification into benign, borderline and malignant has variable agreement levels, with borderline tumours having the lowest concordance rate. More research to refine the diagnostic criteria for categorisation of PT is warranted to improve concordance between pathologists
A case series of low dose bevacizumab and chemotherapy in heavily pretreated patients with epithelial ovarian cancer
Abstract Background The addition of bevacizumab to standard chemotherapy prolongs progression free survival in the first line treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), but its cost/effectiveness is debated. We assessed the safety and activity of a lower dose of bevacizumab in pretreated advanced stage EOC. Methods We treated 15 patients, mostly with platinum resistant EOC, who had received a median of four prior cytotoxic regimens, with bevacizumab 5–7.5 mg/kg q21 days in combination with either carboplatin (n = 8), oral cyclofosfamide (n = 5) or weekly paclitaxel (n = 2). Bevacizumab was administered until disease progression. Tumor response was assessed by CA125 and fusion 18 F-FDG PET/contrast enhanced CT. Results The median number of bevacizumab cycles was 21 (range 3–59). The median baseline CA125 was 272 U/ml and decreased to 15.2 U/ml at nadir. Tumor response was 4 complete response (CR) (26.7%) and 7 partial response (PR) (46.7%) by chemotherapy (CT), with an overall response rate of 73.4% (95% CI, 51.0 – 95.8) according to Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors (RECIST), and 6 CR (40%) and 4 PR (26.7%) by PET, for an overall metabolic response rate of 67% (95%CI, 42.8 – 90.6) according to PET Response Criteria in Solid Tumors (PERCIST). Median progression free survival (PFS) was 21 months and median overall survival (OS) was 24 months. Grade 3 adverse events related to bevacizumab were hypertension (n = 2), proteinuria (n = 1) and epistaxis (n = 5). Treatment was delayed in five patients for nasal bleeding or uncontrolled hypertension. Conclusions Low-dose bevacizumab and chemotherapy was well tolerated and active in a heavily pretreated population of advanced EOC. Further studies should assess the activity of low dose bevacizumab in EOC.</p
Multidifferential study of identified charged hadron distributions in -tagged jets in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV
Jet fragmentation functions are measured for the first time in proton-proton
collisions for charged pions, kaons, and protons within jets recoiling against
a boson. The charged-hadron distributions are studied longitudinally and
transversely to the jet direction for jets with transverse momentum 20 GeV and in the pseudorapidity range . The
data sample was collected with the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy
of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.64 fb. Triple
differential distributions as a function of the hadron longitudinal momentum
fraction, hadron transverse momentum, and jet transverse momentum are also
measured for the first time. This helps constrain transverse-momentum-dependent
fragmentation functions. Differences in the shapes and magnitudes of the
measured distributions for the different hadron species provide insights into
the hadronization process for jets predominantly initiated by light quarks.Comment: All figures and tables, along with machine-readable versions and any

Study of the decay
The decay is studied
in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of TeV
using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5
collected by the LHCb experiment. In the system, the
state observed at the BaBar and Belle experiments is
resolved into two narrower states, and ,
whose masses and widths are measured to be where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second
systematic. The results are consistent with a previous LHCb measurement using a
prompt sample. Evidence of a new
state is found with a local significance of , whose mass and width
are measured to be and , respectively. In addition, evidence of a new decay mode
is found with a significance of
. The relative branching fraction of with respect to the
decay is measured to be , where the first
uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third originates from
the branching fractions of charm hadron decays.Comment: All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and

Measurement of the ratios of branching fractions and
The ratios of branching fractions

sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to 3.0 fb of
integrated luminosity recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. The
