There are some strategies should be considered and done by sellers to maintain a sale business such as customer satisfaction strategy, marketplace strategy, product strategy, price strategy, distribution strategy and marketing strategy in competition world. These strategies are done by sellers to maintain their stall business to increase their income. Yet the arguments have to be proven through a research to get an accurate answer. The questions of the research are 1) what kinds charakteristik by the sellers at the residence of PT Astra Agro Lestari and 2) how is the strategy implemented by the owners of stall around the residence of PT Astra Agro Lestari which is in desa Pangkalan Pisang, kecamatan Koto Gasib kabupaten Siak to keep selling. The population of the research is the sellers who sell at employee residence area of PT Astra Agro Lestari numbered 44 sellers. The technique of sampling used is purposive sampling with the sample is only 25 sellers who have sold for 5 years. The technique of collecting data is questionnaire. The data got of the research was descriptive quantitative. Generally, the result of the research found by the writer is there are some sellers who do not understand about strategies in selling, so it is expected to implement the strategies to maintain the selling business in gaining income and fulfilling family needs.Keywords : Seller, Strategy, Produc

Perbandingan Metode Fuzzy Time Series Cheng dan Metode Box-Jenkins untuk Memprediksi IHSG

Proses peramalan sangat penting pada data time series karena diperlukan dalam proses pengambilan keputusan. Pada bidang finansial peramalan dapat digunakan untuk memantau pergerakan Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan (IHSG) yang akan datang. Perkembangan metode peramalan data time series yang cukup pesat mengakibatkan terdapat banyak pilihan metode yang dapat digunakan untuk meramalkan data sehingga perlu membandingkan metode yang satu dengan metode lainnya untuk mendapatkan hasil ramalan dengan akurasi yang tinggi. Pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan perbandingan peramalan untuk memperoleh metode yang terbaik diantara metode Fuzzy Time Series Cheng dan metode Box-Jenkins dalam memprediksi IHSG dengan akurasi yang tinggi berdasarkan MAE, MSE dan MAPE. Diantara kedua metode peramalan diperoleh metode yang terbaik adalah Fuzzy Time Series Cheng

Neonatal Mortality and Neonatal Health Services in Wad Madani Pediatric Teaching Hospital

The main objectives of this study are to describe the neonatal health and neonatal health services in Wad Madani Teaching Hospital also to identify the problems which cause death. Methodology: This is a descriptive retrospective study carried   out in Wad Madani Pediatric Teaching Hospital, in a period from January to October 2003. Data was collected from hospital records; observation and interview. Results: the majority of deaths were due to prematurity 33.3%, neonatal sepsis 24.3% and birth asphyxia 20%.  The neonatal mortality (NM) to total neonatal admission from January to October 2003 was 14.6% and 41.9% of total hospital deaths. Conclusion: Our conclusions ; Neonatal death in Wad Madani Teaching Hospital was found to be significantly high , strengthening of referral system recommended and special equipments that are not available in the Wad Madani Pediatric Teaching Hospital should be provided.&nbsp

Synergistic cytotoxicity and pharmacogenetics of gemcitabine and pemetrexed combination in pancreatic cancer cell lines

PURPOSE: Gemcitabine is an inhibitor of ribonucleotide reductase (RR) and DNA synthesis and is an effective agent in the treatment of pancreas cancer. The present study investigates whether the multitargeted antifolate pemetrexed would be synergistic with gemcitabine against MIA PaCa-2, PANC-1, and Capan-1 pancreatic cancer cell lines. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN: Cells were treated with gemcitabine and pemetrexed, and the type of drug interaction was assessed using the combination index. Cytotoxicity of gemcitabine was examined with inhibitors of (a) deoxycytidine kinase (dCK), which activates gemcitabine by phosphorylation, and (b) 5'-nucleotidase (drug dephosphorylation) and cytidine deaminase (drug deamination), the main inactivating enzymes. The effects of gemcitabine and pemetrexed on cell cycle were analyzed by flow cytometry, and apoptosis was examined by fluorescence microscopy. Finally, quantitative, real-time PCR was used to study the pharmacogenetics of the drug combination. RESULTS: Synergistic cytotoxicity and enhancement of apoptosis was demonstrated, mostly with the sequence pemetrexed-->gemcitabine. Pemetrexed increased cells in S phase, the most sensitive to gemcitabine, and a positive correlation was found between the expression ratio of dCK:RR and gemcitabine sensitivity. Indeed, pemetrexed significantly enhanced dCK gene expression (+227.9, +86.0, and +135.5% in MIA PaCa-2, PANC-1, and Capan-1 cells, respectively), and the crucial role of this enzyme was confirmed by impairment of gemcitabine cytotoxicity after dCK saturation with 2'-deoxycytidine. CONCLUSIONS: These data demonstrate that the gemcitabine and pemetrexed combination displays schedule-dependent synergistic cytotoxic activity, favorably modulates cell cycle, induces apoptosis, and enhances dCK expression in pancreatic cancer cells

Insights into the molecular mechanism of amyloid filament formation: Segmental folding of α-synuclein on lipid membranes

Recent advances in the structural biology of disease-relevant α-synuclein fibrils have revealed a variety of structures, yet little is known about the process of fibril aggregate formation. Characterization of intermediate species that form during aggregation is crucial; however, this has proven very challenging because of their transient nature, heterogeneity, and low population. Here, we investigate the aggregation of α-synuclein bound to negatively charged phospholipid small unilamellar vesicles. Through a combination of kinetic and structural studies, we identify key time points in the aggregation process that enable targeted isolation of prefibrillar and early fibrillar intermediates. By using solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance, we show the gradual buildup of structural features in an α-synuclein fibril filament, revealing a segmental folding process. We identify distinct membrane-binding domains in α-synuclein aggregates, and the combined data are used to present a comprehensive mechanism of the folding of α-synuclein on lipid membranes

Multilevel use of image repository in the field of veterinary imaging and dissemination of training tools

[Extract] Until now the veterinary teaching environment is limited to static two dimensional materials. In order to improve the teaching experience we decided to adapt our educational PACS to build 2D and 3D viewing veterinary datasets. As entry level of education we setup a knowledge base consisting out of normal anatomy [1, 2]. The second step is the construction of an imaging atlas compared with the normal anatomy of every animal. The third step is the construction of a database containing a wide variety of radiopathology cases. The final level is the integration in an e-learning platform namely WikiVet [3] which is a collaborative initiative involving UK veterinary schools. The project is creating a comprehensive online knowledge base and will provide a reliable reference source to supersede Wikipedia for veterinary students, paramedics and graduates anywhere in the world, improving diagnostic skills using diagnostic imaging

Correlative Imaging in Gallbladder Carcinoma

Gallbladder carcinoma is a relatively rare malignant epithelial neoplasm, arising from gallbladder mucosa. It is the fifth most common gastrointestinal malignancy and the most common biliary tract cancer. Early diagnosis remains difficult, because clinical symptoms are sparse and non-specific, often resulting in advanced stage disease at the time of diagnosis. The most common feature of gallbladder carcinoma on different imaging modalities is focal wall thickening, associated with a large eccentric tumor mass.
