Nauka i technika w państwach Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej - główne kierunki zmian oraz cechy specyficzne krajów i sektorów

Using a “3 phase model” of transformation the author analyses and compares the situations of the science and technology systems of CEEC and the changes that they then underwent during the nineties. Three groups emerged when we examined the differences between the countries with regard to the advances they have made in their transformations and their prospects for the future development of S&T. While advances in institutional restructuring tend to dominate in the area of public science, the situation in industrial R&D must, in contrast, be assessed as unsatisfactory and its restructuring as largely unresolved. The building of new S&T systems by national and international networking remains therefore the main task in all CEEC, for countries seeking membership to the EU strongly influenced by the envisaged round of EU enlargement.W artykule przedstawiono analizę sytuacji systemów nauki i techniki w krajach Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej oraz przeobrażeń, którym owe systemy uległy w latach dziewięćdziesiątych. Zmiany te zostały opisane za pomocą modelu „trzech faz” . Analiza różnic między krajami ze względu na zaawansowanie transformacji oraz perspektywy przyszłego rozwoju nauki i techniki pozwoliła wyróżnić trzy grupy krajów. Podczas gdy w sferze nauki państwowej dominuje postęp w restrukturyzacji instytucjonalnej, sytuację w sferze nauki i techniki przemysłowej trzeba ocenić jako niezadowalającą, a problem restrukturyzacji jako nierozwiązany. Głównym zadaniem wszystkich krajów Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej dążących do członkostwa w Unii Europejskiej pozostaje stworzenie nowych systemów nauki i techniki poprzez powiązania krajowe i międzynarodowe

The Movie Watching Experience, Post Pandemic

Abstract: This proposal is interested in examining how the Covid-19 pandemic affected the film industry and the movie-watching preferences of Americans. To analyze the effect of the pandemic on the film industry and the behaviors of movie watchers, I plan to study how the film industry has evolved to rely on streaming services to release content, as well as how the movie-watching behaviors of residences of different urban areas have changes as a response to the pandemic. By analyzing the financial side of streaming services (and their stock prices across time) and the change of behaviors of movie-watchers in Los Angeles, California, and Dallas, Texas, I will be able to explain how the effects of the pandemic changed people’s movie watching habits across the country. This will help me explain how the film industry is shifting towards digital platforms due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. All of this will allow readers know what movie watchers can expect for future movie-watching experiences
