    Experimental and simulation analysis for performance enhancement of elliptical savonius wind turbine by modifying blade shapes

    Savonius turbines are drag-based rotors which operate due to a pressure difference between the advancing and retreating blades. After going through an exhaustive literature review, it was realized that the Savonius wind turbines are an applicable option at low wind speed areas, where the counterpart of these turbines cannot work efficiently. Nevertheless, the existing design is still under research to make it more applicable in urban areas. Therefore, the research objective was to develop and test an elliptical Savonius wind turbine to improving its performance in terms of power and torque coefficients by modifying blade shapes and overlap ratio. In the beginning, a series of 2D unsteady simulations (CFD-Fluent version 19.1) of the Savonius elliptical turbine has been performed to study the overlap ratio of blades and the effect of the turbulence models. Conventional elliptical Savonius turbine was modified by changing the overlap ratio from the value (OR=0.15) to (OR=0.2) and called as the Model-A. Then, the concave surface of the blade Model-A was modified (as zigzag shape) and called as Model-B. The blade shape of the Model-B was modified by adding bypass channels for each blade to creating new configuration was called the Model-C. The experimental work begins with the manufacturing of the models (A, B and C) of the blade using 3D printing technology. Models were tested by the wind tunnel in Aerodynamic laboratory (UTHM) with four cases of wind velocity. 2D simulation result for Model-A at OR= 0.2, where the increase in maximum power coefficient value obtained was 3.85% and 7.69% compared to overlap ratio (0.15 and 0.1), respectively. The result of the experimental test was obtained the maximum power coefficient (0.296, 0.292, 0.291, and 0.295) at wind velocity (6 m/s, 8 m/s, 9 m/s, and 10 m/s), respectively for Model-B. The Model-C result in the maximum power coefficient (0.28) compared with Model-A (0.26). The 3D unsteady simulation also has been done to visualisation the behaviour of flow around Model-B and it show a good agreement with experimental test results

    IMPLEMENTASI PEMBELAJARAN IPA SMP BERBASIS KEARIFAN LOKAL PADA PERTANIAN BAWANG MERAH BREBES UNTUK MENINGKATKAN LITERASI SAINS ASPEK KOMPETENSI ILMIAH

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (a) mengetahui profil literasi sains aspek kompetensi ilmiah pada menjelaskan fenomena secara ilmiah peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran IPA SMP berbasis kearifan lokal pada pertanian bawang merah Brebes, (b) mengetahui efektifitas pembelajaran IPA SMP berbasis kearifan lokal pada pertanian bawang merah Brebes untuk meningkatkan literasi sains aspek kompetensi ilmiah pada menjelaskan fenomena secara ilmiah peserta didik. Pendekatan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experimental. Desain penelitian ini pretest–posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VII yang diajarkan oleh guru yang sama. Sampel diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling dengan mengambil dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Adapun data diambil dengan teknik tes dan non tes. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t-test, uji independent sample t-test dan uji N-Gain score. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan literasi sains aspek kompetensi ilmiah pada menjelaskan fenomena secara ilmiah peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan pembelajaran IPA SMP berbasis kearifan lokal pada pertanian bawang merah Brebes. (2) Pembelajaran IPA SMP berbasis kearifan lokal pada pertanian bawang merah Brebes efektif meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains aspek kompetensi ilmiah pada menjelaskan fenomena secara ilmiah peserta didik pada materi interaksi makhluk hidup dengan lingkungannya. Hal ini diketahui dari hasil analisis rata-rata nilai N-Gain score pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0.33 kategori “sedang” dan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0.14 kategori “rendah”

    This study aimed to analyze the role of the Adolescent Counseling Information Center in Narcotics Abuse Prevention through Counseling in North Samarinda District. The type of this research was a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection technique of this research used interviews, documentations, and literature methods. The data analysis used was an interactive data analysis model. The results of this research showed that the Adolescent Counseling Information Center has done the direct counseling through presentations at junior high schools, high schools and the private school in North Samarinda District, from the counseling that has been done, there were 8 schools from 42 schools that were given counseling at once in each school with the limited number of students between 40-60 students who had free time. In other words, we prove that sup{xp1Txdμ: xLp(μ),xp=1}p1pq1qT \sup\{\int |x|^{p-1}|Tx|\, d\mu \, : \ x\in L_p(\mu),\,\|x\|_p=1\} \,\geq \,p^{-\frac{1}{p}} q^{-\frac{1}{q}}\,\|T\| for every TL(Lp(μ))T\in \mathcal{L}(L_p(\mu)) and that this inequality is the best possible when the dimension of Lp(μ)L_p(\mu) is greater than one.     Praktik pengalaman lapangan (PPL) Bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah merupakan salah satu kegiatan latiihan yang bersifat intrakulikuler sehingga harus di laksanakan oleh setiap maahasiswa program studi bimbingan dan konseling. Kegiatan ini dalam rangka peningkatan keterampilan dan pemahaman mengenai berbagai aspek kependidikan dan pemberian berbagai bentuk program layanan bimbingan dan konseling yang dapat di berikan oleh guru pembimbing, dalam rangka memenuhi persyaratan pembenrukan tenaga kependidikan yang bertugas memberikan layanan bimbingan di sekolah yang professional. Pelaksanaan program PPL di mulai dari tanggal di mulai tanggal 10 agustus sampai 12 september 2015. Selama kegiatan, praktikan melaksanakan berbagai program kerja yang bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi proses bimbingan dan pengoptimalan potensi siswa. Pada realisasinya kegiatan berjalan sesuai dengan target yang direncanakan. Kegiatan PPL ini dilaksanakan setiap terdapat jam kosong mata pelajaran guru lain atau setelah KBM di karenakan tidak ada nya jam masuk kelas khusus BK. Program yang di selenggarakan pada kegiatan PPL, di susun untuk mengoptimalkan perkembangan dan potensi yang di miliki sisiwa. Selain itu juga untuk melatih praktikan sebelum terjun ke lapangan kerja nantinya. Dengan demikian, praktikan memiliki keterampilan dalam menangani berbagai tugas sebagai calon guru pembimbing khususnya dan tenaga kependidikan pada umumnya, mengatur program bimbingan dan konseling, dan memberikan layanan bimbingan dan konseling dalam setting sekolah sehingga menghasilkan input dan output yang andal

    Blood type is a unique marker for each individual. These markers can be used for requirements in conducting blood transfusions to avoid unwanted reactions. The purpose of this activity is to explain the types of ABO and rhesus blood groups to female students of SMK Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya. The target is all students who take part in princess activities. Expected output is that all students know the types and benefits of knowledge about ABO and rhesus blood groups. The results of this activity are an increase in knowledge about the types of ABO and rhesus blood types, from 50% to 97.7% and from 2.3% to 75%.Keywords— Blood type, ABO, rhesu
