Reggio Emilia: An Essential Tool to Develop Critical Thinking in Early Childhood
We seem to have a problem in arts education at pre-school level: the lack of specific training for teachers teaching this subject to very young children. The future preschool teachers' training seems to be focused on the teaching and learning aspects of artistic education however they receive little training on methodologies and philosophies. Therefore, when teachers have to face the classroom, the methodologies they use are usually quite traditional and do not favour the development of critical thinking skills in the students. There are different philosophies of arts education that might embed opportunities for reflection, art interpretation, experimentation, expression of emotions and feelings that if, in the case these philosophies, reach the classroom, may doubtlessly enrich the student's artistic training. Thus a conceptual framework based on one of these philosophies, named Reggio Emilia, arises. A systematic review of the literature which has been developed by categorising criteria from research papers and from examples of good practices. This categorisation might allow us to establish a framework that can be useful in the classrooms and can establish parameters of action that may have an impact on students, teachers and teachers' practice in general
This thesis, organised as a compendium of publications, presents the role of the educator in the Reggio Emilia approach, and the tools available to develop critical thinking and social skills through artistic education and creativity. This study consists of four research phases corresponding to three published articles (phases 1, 3 and 4) and a phase dedicated to delineate the role of the Reggio Emilia educator (phase 2). This research presents how critical thinking can be developed in early childhood through artistic education and creativity. Qualitative methods have been used to draw how, based on a conceptual framework that emerged from the systematic review of the literature on Reggio Emilia the role of the educator can be a guide to foster children's learning focusing on the development of creativity through the arts as tools to stimulate critical thinking and, also, how Reggio Emilia can establish bridges between schools and museums to educate students in heritage. The results and conclusions of this doctoral thesis arise from interweaving of data as we contrast the literature on Reggio Emilia, experiments in the classroom, interviews with experts in Reggio Emilia and museum practices that use this philosophy. We have included comments of the reviewers who contributed to the review and final publication of the accepted articles as we consider these key for the development of our study.[spa] Esta tesis como compendio de artÃculos presenta el rol del docente de Reggio Emilia y las herramientas que dispone para desarrollar pensamiento crÃtico y habilidades sociales a través de la educación artÃstica y la creatividad. types the corresponding -linear Hadamard
codes of length are nonlinear. For these codes, we compute the kernel and
its dimension, which allows us to give a partial classification of these codes.
Moreover, for , we give a complete classification by
providing the exact amount of nonequivalent such codes. We also prove the
existence of several families of infinite such nonlinear

equivalent to any other constructed

constructed -linear Hadamard code with , with the

Employability skills and quality of life among employees with mild and moderate intellectual disability who attend occupation centres in catalonia (Spain)
Background: The study explores the relationship between quality of life (QoL) and employability skills in a non-random sample of 100 employees of occupational centres (OCs) in Barcelona (Spain). The influence of gender, age and level of intellectual disability (ID) is also explored. Method: A quantitative approach was adopted to collect and examine data, gathered through two different instruments: the GENCAT SCALE (Verdugo et al., 2008) (and the Employability Skills Scale (Jariot, Laborda and González, 2020). Results: A correlation between QoL and employability skills has been found. A relationship between age and employability skills was also found, in which younger individuals reported better in employability skills. Age was also found to have an effect on some QoL domains. The ID level turned out to be a significant factor in the development of employability skills, as well as in some QoL domains. The crucial role of job placement in personal development is underlined, as well as the need for more inclusive procedures in occupancy services.
Microstructures and mineral chemistry of lherzolites in mantle xenoliths from Catalonia (NE Spain)
durante el desarrollo inicial del rift neógenoSpinel lherzolite xenoliths from the Catalan Volcanic Zone show three
main types of microstructures: protogranular, porphyroclastic and
equigranular. Major element chemistry of minerals suggests that there is no
compositional relationship between the three types. However, the evolution
of the jadeitic component of clinopyroxene on the one hand, and the spinel
composition on the other hand would be related to deformation. These
compositional trends along with thermobarometric data indicate that more
deformed lherzolites were reequilibrated at lower temperature and pressure
than the least deformed ones. Porphyroclastic and equigranular
microstructures were most likely originated by shearing during the early
stages of the Neogene riftin
