Directional movement distribution in the bitcoin markets
The crypto exchanges operate primarily on the internet, where the speed of information spreading is significant. Therefore, it is expected that there should be no significant differences among the individual exchanges concerning the same asset being traded. Prices should quickly reach comparable values on all stock exchanges, and they should return to equilibrium in a relative time frame. Hence, the investors, while making decisions on the selection of a cryptocurrency market, should be guided primarily by the exchange security considerations, its flexibility, availability of a product offer, and costs of order processing. The work aims to check whether virtual currency exchanges differ from each other in the context of directional movement, both in an upward and downward trend. To achieve the objective of the paper, we used Directional Movement Index, supported by the Directional Indicators, to compare the distribution of the strength of the directional movement across three different cryptocurrency exchanges (Bitstamp, Coinbase, Kraken) within the up and the downward price movement phase. The comparison is made based on the results of the non-parametrical tests such as Wilcoxon test, Hodges Lehmann test, Ansari-Bradley test, and Conover test. The results show that theoretically, the choice of a cryptocurrency exchange in an upward trend will cause no significant difference for an investor and its strategy. However, the choice of a stock exchange in a downward trend may have a substantial impact on the rates of return. © 2020, Kauno Technologijos Universitetas. All rights reserved

A) Um einen genauen
Alle anderen DUM Neurone zeigten entweder keine Änderung
in ihrer Aktivität oder erhielten rhythmische inhibitorische Eingänge. C) Im
The aim of this work was to investigate and describe the functional role of
octopaminergic dorsal unpaired median (DUM) neurons during locomotion of the
locust locusta migratoria. A new technique was developed to make chronic
recordings from nerves of the ventral nerve cord without disturbing the freely
moving animal. In a cooperation with the research group of Dr. Duch this
technique was used to investigate the activity patterns of identified
motoneurons during the late larval life of the hawkworm of manduca sexta. A)
To investigate the activity patterns of efferent DUM neurons during locomotion
under in vivo conditions electrodes were implanted chronically into locusts.
Due to the very small amplitude of the action potentials caused by the small
diameter of the axons, it was not possible to separate the signals of DUM
neurons from background activity in extracellular recordings. Using different
experimental designs and analytic methods it was not possible to extract DUM
cell activity from the recordings. The high signal quality of the chronically
implantable electrodes makes this new technique a useful tool for further
investigations. B) The activity of DUM neurons during a central generated
rhythm was investigated. The rhythm was induced by cutting the anterior and
posterior connectives of the mesothoracic ganglion. In this preparation no
pharmacological substances were applied and local sensory feedback in the
segment stayed intact. It was shown that the different subtypes of DUM neurons
were activated differently during central rhythmic activity. Leg innervating
DUM neurons showed rhythmic depolarizations. This activity correlated strongly
with the activity of motoneurons of the levator tibiae. All other subtypes of
DUM neurons did not show any changes in activity or received inhibitory
inputs, which were also correlated with the activity of the motoneurons of the
levator. C) This work shows that the DUM neuron activity has a strong
influence on flight muscle metabolism in the locust. Due to antidromic
stimulation of DUM neurons, the level of the potent glycolytic activator
fructose 2,6-bisphosphate (f2,6bp) was increased in the flight muscle M119.
The level of f2,6bp was not increased in the contralateral muscle M119 which
was used as an internal control. It was also shown that the cAMP-dependent
protein kinase A is necessary, but not sufficient for signal transduction of
this octopamin mediated effect. D) In cooperation with the workgroup of Dr.
Carsten Duch activity patterns of motoneurons persisting during late larval
life of manduca sexta were investigated. These activity patterns are specific
for the developmental stages of the larvae. They correlate with stereotypic
changes in behavior that occur prior to pupal ecdysis. The types of
motoneurons recruited, the number of motor spikes, and the duration of bursts
changed stereotypically with different stages. Inducing activity by
stimulating these motoneurons selectively with ecdysis-like patterns resulted
in a significant outgrowth of their terminal arborizations. In contrast, tonic
stimulation with the same number of spikes did not result in a new outgrowth.
This suggests that postembryonic modifications of the neuromuscular systems
are affected by activity-dependent mechanisms and that they are not regulated
by hormones only

Structural assessment of market capacity: client-oriented conception
To assess the real and potential opportunities of industrial enterprises in the market of products, a model of
structural estimation of the capacity of the market for the products manufacturing has been developed. The
constant and variable constituents of product market capacities are highlighted, which reflect the real business
opportunities, potential queries and their purchasing power. The developed econometric model is based
on the use of the multiple regression method in order to formalize the dependence of the capacity of the
market of production of the industrial enterprise from the channels of influence on it, allocated using the
method of the main components − price, quality, behavioral, macroeconomic, as well as with the possibility
of their formalization, namely the influence of each of them on the basis of regression modeling of market

In search of insolvency among European countries
The global financial crisis has proven to be one of the worst and mostdemanding events ever. According to common understanding, it is highly unlikely for a country to go bankrupt. However, we have seen a number of countries on the verge of bankruptcy, as well as many which have officially gone bankrupt. It is probable that many more will do so in the future. This knowledge has led us to the question: how probable is it that a sovereign might suffer serious solvency problems? The purpose of this study was to apply a multivariate discriminant analysis (MDA) as an effective tool for a recognition and differentiation among defaulted and non-defaulted nations. The performed analysis was based on data up to 2012 for 26 emerging and 20 developed European countries. The results indicated a high predictive power for ‘non-liquid’ macroeconomic variables like import, export, investment, population and GDP ratios, underlining MDA as the most suitable model for insolvency prediction, compared to other popular methods like probit and logit model. But unlike in other studies the debt/lending/revenue ratios were characterised by weak predictive power
