Electromagnetic structure and weak decay of meson K in a light-front QCD-inspired

The kaon electromagnetic (e.m.) form factor is reviewed considering a light-front constituent quark model. In this approach, it is discussed the relevance of the quark-antiquark pair terms for the full covariance of the e.m. current. It is also verified, by considering a QCD dynamical model, that a good agreement with experimental data can be obtained for the kaon weak decay constant once a probability of about 80% of the valence component is taken into account.Comment: 4 pages and 1 figure eps. Electromagnetic structure and weak decay of pseudoscalar mesons in a light-front QCD-inspired model

We study the scaling of the $^3S_1-^1S_0$ meson mass splitting and the pseudoscalar weak decay constants with the mass of the meson, as seen in the available experimental data. We use an effective light-front QCD-inspired dynamical model regulated at short-distances to describe the valence component of the pseudoscalar mesons. Weak decay constant of pseudscalar meson in a QCD-inspired model

We show that a linear scaling between the weak decay constants of pseudoscalar and the vector mesons masses is supported by the available experimental data. The decay constant scale as $f_m/f_{pi}=M_V/M_{\rho}$ (f_m is decay constant and M_V vector meson ground state mass). This simple form is justified within a renormalized light-front QCD-inpired model for quark-antiquark bound states.Comment: 4 pages, use revtex style. To appear "Brazilian Journal of Physics (2003)

A covariant investigation of Neutral Vector Mesons: dynamical properties and electromagnetic decay widths

A simple, but fully-covariant model for describing neutral Vector Mesons, in both light and heavy sectors, is briefly illustrated. The main ingredients of our relativistic constituent model are i) an Ansatz for the Bethe-Salpeter vertex for Vector Mesons, and ii) a Mandelstam-like formula for the electromagnetic decay widths. The free parameters of our approach are fixed through a comparison with the valence transverse-momentum distribution, $n(k_\perp)$, obtained within phenomenological Light-Front Hamiltonian Dynamics models reproducing the mass spectra. Preliminary results for the transverse-momentum distributions, the parton distribution and the electromagnetic decay constants are shown.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures. La mediación cultural en la biblioteca escolar

Inúmeras são as bibliotecas escolares e muitos são os jovens estudantes que precisam frequentá-la para o auxílio em suas atividades ou para simplesmente ter um local silencioso para a concentração. Mas a biblioteca escolar pode ter muito mais a oferecer. O bibliotecário pode trabalhar como mediador e levar àquele ambiente, diversas atividades para o aperfeiçoamento do processo de aprendizagem cultural daquele público. A mediação cultural pode ser feita sob diversas formas, levando peças, pinturas, exposições das mais variadas formas a este local, tornando-se assim, um dispositivo cultural. E tão importante para o funcionamento deste dispositivo, é a interação das equipes ligadas à mediação. Um espaço físico adequado e mediadores conectados com o mundo atual são alguns dos fatores para a elaboração de uma boa mediação. A biblioteca escolar é analisada como um meio em que a cultura (seja ela qual for) é encaminhada para esse público tão curioso, que possui a mente aberta para entrada de conhecimentos diversos, e consequentemente, indivíduos culturalmente ricos serão criados.Many are the schools libraries, and many are the young students who need to attend it for assistance in their activities or simply have a quiet place to concentrate. But the school library may have much more to offer. The librarian can work as a mediator and bring to that environment various activities for the improvement of the cultural learning process of that audience. The cultural mediation can be done in various ways like playing, painting, exhibiting as such transforming it in a cultural device. And just as important as for the operation of this device, it is the interaction of the groups linked into mediation. An adequate phisycal space and mediators connected with the current world are some of the factors for the development of a good mediation. Light-Front Model of Transition Form-Factors in Heavy Meson Decay

Electroweak transition form factors of heavy meson decays are important ingredients in the extraction of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix elements from experimental data. In this work, within a light-front framework, we calculate electroweak transition form factor for the semileptonic decay of $D$ mesons into a pion or a kaon. The model results underestimate in both cases the new data of CLEO for the larger momentum transfers accessible in the experiment. El Senador Juan Carlos Vélez Uribe presentó el 19 de noviembre de 2008, - previa introducción de algunas modificaciones frente al proyecto original- 1 , informe de ponencia para primer debate al proyecto de Ley 005 de 2008, “Por medio de la cual se establecerá el Régimen de Custodia Compartida de los hijos menores”, Este proyecto, luego de una modificación al artículo 5o, fue aprobado por la plenaria de esa Corporación, según consta en el Acta 028 de 2008 2 . De la Polisemia de los Conceptos.El concepto Gen como caso Particular

La discusión en torno a los conceptos involucra a filósofos, psicólogos, filósofos, científicos y, en los últimos años, didactas de las ciencias. Este debate es tan relevante por el creciente disenso entre la comunidad científica respecto a la posibilidad de la verdad y de la objetividad en las ciencias y la relación con los conceptos. En el siguiente artículo se discutirá la noción de concepto y, especialmente, la del concepto de gen, sobre el que se pretende mostrar un breve estudio de su desarrollo histórico (en la biología) que permite identificar diversos significados que responden al contexto explicativo de los distintos episodios y sucesos históricos que tuvieron lugar en el siglo XX

Algunos aportes al concepto de justicia

Acudir a los clásicos es buscar lo mejor para encontrar la razón de las cosas y entender su verdadero significado; en este caso el de la justicia y el de sus contrarios. Ab initio study of the role of defects on the magnetic response and the structural, electronic and hyperfine properties of ZnFe2O4

In this work the effects of defects (oxygen vacancies, cationic inversion) on the structural, electronic and the magnetic response of the spinel ZnFe2O4 (ZFO) are studied by using a density functional theory (DFT) based ab initio method (the Full-Potential Linearized Augmented Plane Waves plus Local Orbitals, LAPW+lo) on the framework of the Generalized Gradient Approximation plus U (GGA+U) level. The changes induced by the defects in the hyperfine interactions at the Fe sites of the structure are also presented. In order to discuss the magnetic ordering and the electronic structure of the system we considered different spin arrangements. We found that, similar to the normal and pristine case, reduced and partially inverted ZFO presents an energy landscape characterized by a large number of metastable states. Our calculations successfully describe the hyperfine properties (isomer shift, magnetic hyperfine field and quadrupole splitting) at the Fe sites that are seen by Mössbauer Spectrocopy (MS) at 4 and 300 K, enabling us to characterize the local structure around Fe atoms. Our LAPW+lo predictions also demonstrate the relevance of both oxygen vacancies and antisites (cationic inversion) in the formation of local ferromagnetic coupling between Fe ions, giving rise to a ferrimagnetic ordering in an otherwise antiferromagnetic compound. This results support conclusions based in experimental results obtained in x-ray magnetic circular dichroism and magnetization measurements performed on zinc ferrites with different cation distributions and oxygen vacancy concentrations reported in the literature.Fil: Melo Quintero, Jhon Jaither.
