The thesis investigates the Impact of COVID-19 on Nine European countries in salmon consumption in household volume sales and price of different product categories of salmon products. Through a comprehensive analysis using regression models in Stata, we tried to find out the relation between salmon consumption volume and multiple variables, including price, GDP, lagged volume, and the effect of COVID-19 in specific countries using data from January 2018 to April 2022 obtained from Norwegian Seafood Council. Our findings revealed key insights. We observed that pricing significantly influences sales volume. Salmon sales volume tends to decline as prices rise, demonstrating a normal supply and demand connection. GDP (Gross Domestic Product) has a positive impact on sales volume. The lagged volume of sales strongly influenced the logged volume of sales and COVID-19 had a major impact on sales volume in certain countries. In most cases, household consumption increased during COVID-19 compared to the pre-pandemic period indicating a change in consumption behavior. The results of this study provide essential information for future research by providing an understanding of the sustainability of increasing salmon consumption as well as the potential long-term consequences of the pandemic on consumer behavior. Additionally, it offers a precedent for investigating how national and international crises might change consumer trends in the food sector, particularly for healthy products like salmon. Building partnerships with foreign importers or distributors is critical for internationalizing small and medium enterprises with limited resources. Doing so can help them leverage the resources of their partners and enhance their export performance in foreign markets. Within this context, commitment to the relationship stands as an important cross-border relationship dimension. In addition, market orientation and entrepreneurship orientation have been highlighted in the literature as important variables to develop relationship commitment. The literature also demonstrates that effective communication between partners is the critical function of relationship closeness and strength. This study used the resource-based view for theoretical foundation. We collected data from 220 small and medium business exporters in the manufacturing sector in an emerging market, namely, Malaysia which were analyzed using hierarchical moderated regression analysis. The results showed that entrepreneurship orientation is positively related to relationship commitment. The findings also revealed that the relationship between market orientation and commitment was fully moderated by communication. This means the entrepreneurial values of risk taking, innovation, and pro-action are crucial in providing SMEs with the ability to develop and maintain relationship commitment. Future studies may investigate how the rapid changes in the international business environment affect SME relationship commitment

Academic achievement is an important indicator of student performance in institution of higher learning. Notwithstanding the intensity of investigation on academic performance, the dynamic nature of external environments engender continuous development of teaching and learning in higher learning institutions so as to minimize knowledge asymmetry. Previous studies emphasize on the important of individual needs and cooperative learning on the performance output of students of higher institution. Specifically this study investigates the role of student’s individual needs and cooperative learning on academic performance. Data was collected from 100 undergraduate students at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Multiple regression analysis was employed to test the hypotheses. Findings indicate that individual needs significantly influences academic performance. In addition, cooperative learning mediates the relationship between individual needs and academic achievement, hence partial mediating function of cooperative learning. At the end of this paper, the discussion is presented and the conclusion is discussed

Modelling of Asphalt's Adhesive Behaviour Using Classification and Regression Tree (CART) Analysis

The modification by polymers and nanomaterials can significantly improve different properties of asphalt. However, during the service life, the oxidation affects the constituents of modified asphalt and subsequently results in deviation from the desired properties. One of the important properties affected due to oxidation is the adhesive properties of modified asphalt. In this study, the adhesive properties of asphalt modified with the polymers (styrene-butadiene-styrene and styrene-butadiene) and carbon nanotubes were investigated. Asphalt samples were aged in the laboratory by simulating the field conditions, and then adhesive properties were evaluated by different tips of atomic force microscopy (AFM) following the existing functional group in asphalt. Finally, a predictive modelling and machine learning technique called the classification and regression tree (CART) was used to predict the adhesive properties of modified asphalt subjected to oxidation. The parameters that affect the behaviour of asphalt have been used to predict the results using the CART. The results obtained from CART analysis were also compared with those from the regression model. It was observed that the CART analysis shows more explanatory relationships between different variables. The model can predict accurately the adhesive properties of modified asphalts considering the real field oxidation and chemistry of asphalt at a nanoscale.publication of this article was funded by the Qatar National LibraryScopu

Somatic embryogenesis is the most common method for regeneration in rice. In vitrostudies of indica rice (Oryza sativa L.) variety BRRI dhan28 was used for obtainingembryogenic calli from immature embryo culture on Murashige & Skoog mediumsupplemented with 2.5 mg/l dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and 0.5 mg/lnaphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) showed the highest percentage (91%) of callus induction. Inthis combination 80% embryogenic calli were formed uneven with a crisp texture, loosestructure and salient multicellular structures on the surface while non embryogenic calliwere compact with a smooth surface. Under microscopic observation, embryogenic cells weresmaller, globular and abundant in cytoplasm with one or two big nuclei. Non embryogeniccells were little cytoplasm and few large vacuoles with no or only a small nucleus and wideintercellular spaces. Non embryogenic cells had a very low cell division capability whileembryogenic cells had a high capability for cell division and continued to divide andproduced somatic pro-embryos with a well–defined protodermis which could developfurther through the typical globular, heart, torpedo and cotyledonary stages. Only 80% ofembryogenic cells were induced high differentiation rate and developed 65 globular, 52heart-shape, 43 torpedo and 37 cotyledonary embryos of embryogenic cells after 30 to 45 daysof induction

Background: Attention is the state of applying the concentration to something and it's strongly linked to academic performance. The drive of this study was to analyze the academic performance and attention of undergraduate students. Methods: The study was implemented on 139 undergraduate students of Bangladesh selected from 9 universities from April to August 2018. In this study to investigate the attention of the students, the Uddin's Numeral Finding (NF) and Typo Revealing (TR) tests were used. Results: In the NF test male students with last semester cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.47 (highest) exerted the maximum 40% attention but female students exerted only 33.3% attention and their last semester CGPA was 3. Students with age > 22 years exerted maximum, 70.55%, and 35.2% attention in NF and TR tests respectively with last semester CGPA of 3.56 (maximum). In the NF and TR tests, highest, 89.73%, and 50.33% attention respectively were reported by 1st-year students with last semester CGPA of only 3.70. High-socioeconomic status students with last semester CGPA of 3.43 (lowest) exerted maximum 75.30% attention in NF test. There were no significant associations between variables. Conclusion: Attention is a very rudimentary function that often is a forerunner to cognitive functions. Individual differences in academic performance have been linked to differences in attention and intelligence
