    A case study of internal control practices in Islamic non-profit organizations in Malaysia

    This paper presents the current internal control practices of Islamic non-profit organizations in Malaysia. This study employs comparative case study method by using interview for its data collecting approach. Three Islamic non-profit organizations with similar characteristics were selected as samples for this study. Findings showed that several similarities in internal control practices aspects such as segregation of duties, authorisation of transactions and documentation of records in the organizations. Different practices were also identified, especially in physical control over assets and records and independent checks on performance aspects. The study found inadequate physical control over assets and records, such as installation of alarm and CCTV camera, hiring a guard over premises and also a barrier to financial documentations and room. Also two out of three Islamic non-profit organizations did not practise internal audit processes for independent checks on performance. Based on these findings, several suggestions were highlighted for improvement. This paper also identified issues and challenges in the internal control practices, such as lack of financial staff, low equipped physical control tools, not assigning internal auditor for frequent review over operation purposes and financial limitation

    PENGARUH PENDAPATAN ASLI DAERAH, DANA PERIMBANGAN DAN BELANJA DAERAH TERHADAP KINERJA KEUANGAN PADA PEMERINTAH DAERAH KABUPATEN/ KOTA DI SUMATERA SELATAN

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Pendapatan Asli Daerah, dana perimbangan dan belanja daerah baik secara parsial maupun simultan terhadap kinerja keuangan. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 15 kabupaten/ kota di provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Jenis data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi sehingga data yang diperoleh merupakan data sekunder. Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Pendapatan Asli Daerah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja keuangan (2) dana perimbangan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikansi terhadap kinerja keuangan (3) belanja daerah tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja keuangan. (4) Pendapatan Asli Daerah, dana perimbangan dan belanja daerah secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikansi terhadap kinerja keuangan, hal ini terbukti dengan nilai F hitung sebesar 1637,405 dan signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, sedangkan hasil uji determinasi diketahui R2 sebesar 98,6%. Hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja keuangan dipengaruhi oleh Pendapatan Asli Daerah, dana perimbangan dan belanja daerah sebesar 98,6%, sedangkan sisanya sebesar 1,4% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini

    ABSTRAK Menurut data top brand index, Alfamart menjadi salah satu minimarket di Indonesia yang berada di peringkat pertama sebagai pemimpin pasar minimarket dari tahun 2018-2022. Namun dari tahun 2019-2022 terjadi penurunan pada tingkat penjualan yang dapat dilihat dari persentase top brand index minimarket, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa keputusan pembelian konsumen minimarket Alfamart mengalami penurunan yang bisa disebabkan oleh berbagai macam faktor seperti adanya pesaing. Terdapat banyak brand minimarket yang menjadi pesaing Alfamart seperti Indomaret dan minimarket lokal sejenisnya terkhususnya di Kecamatan Sukarame kota Bandar Lampung. Adanya penurunan pada tingkat penjualan tersebut menjadi dasar permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini. Oleh sebab itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah sosial media marketing, persepsi harga dan kelengkapan produk berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian dalam perspektif bisnis syariah dengan studi pada konsumen Alfamart di Kecamatan Sukarame kota Bandar Lampung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Kecamatan Sukarame kota Bandar Lampung yang menjadi konsumen Alfamart dengan sampel penelitian berjumlah 100 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode angket (kuesioner). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji hipotesis dan uji koefisien determinasi (R2 ) serta metode pengolahan data menggunakan SmartPLS 3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara sosial media marketing terhadap keputusan pembelian. Terdapat pengaruh positif dan tidak signifikan antara persepsi harga terhadap keputusan pembelian. Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara kelengkapan produk terhadap keputusan pembelian. Sedangkan untuk hasil penelitian dalam perspektif bisnis syariah memperoleh hasil yang baik dari setiap variabel. Hal tersebut berarti bahwa sosial media marketing, persepsi harga, kelengkapan produk dan keputusan pembelian sudah sesuai dengan ketentuan bisnis syariah. ABSTRACT According to top brand index data, Alfamart is one of the minimarkets in Indonesia which ranks first as the minimarket market leader from 2018-2022. However, from 2019-2022 there has been a decline in sales levels which can be seen from the percentage of minimarket top brand indexes, so it is concluded that consumer purchasing decisions for Alfamart minimarkets have decreased which can be caused by various factors such as the presence of competitors. There are many minimarket brands that are competitors to Alfamart, such as Indomaret and similar local minimarkets, especially in Sukarame District, Bandar Lampung city. The decrease in the level of sales is the basis of the problems raised in this study. Therefore this study aims to determine whether social media marketing, price perceptions and product completeness have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions in a sharia business perspective with studies on Alfamart consumers in Sukarame District, Bandar Lampung city. The research method used in this study is a quantitative research method. The population in this study is the people of Sukarame District, Bandar Lampung city, who are consumers of Alfamart, with a sample of 100 respondents. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using the questionnaire method (questionnaire). The data analysis technique used is hypothesis testing and the coefficient of determination test (R2) and the data processing method uses SmartPLS 3. The results of the study show that there is a positive and significant influence between social media marketing and purchasing decisions. There is a positive and insignificant influence between price perceptions on purchasing decisions. There is a positive and significant influence between product completeness and purchasing decisions. As for the results of research in the perspective of sharia business to obtain good results from each variable. This means that social media marketing, price perceptions, product completeness and purchasing decisions are in accordance with sharia business provisions.     Tujuan dilakukan penelitianini untukmengetahui bagaimana pengaruh dari suatu harga, kualitas produk, dan juga kualitas layanan terhadap loyalitas pelanggan.Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian desain survei secara crossectional. Dalam penelitian ini sampel merupakan Mahasiswa di Lampung dengan jumlah 100 responden. Dengan menggunakan uji statistik dilakukan Structurel Equation Modelling berbasi PLS. dengan melakukan uji validitas menggunakan nilai faktor loading, sedangkan untuk uji reliabilitas menggunakan nilai cronbach’c alpha, composite reliability dan Average Variance Extracted (AVE). Setelah semua hasil item indikator yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini valid dan reliabel, kemudian dilakukan uji hipotesis. Dari ketiga hipotesis yang diajukan seluruhnya terdukung, namun untuk hipotesis pertama tidak signifikan.     This article furthers our knowledge of critical consciousness (i.e., perceived inequality, egalitarianism, sociopolitical action) by testing an expanded model of critical consciousness development that hypothesized relationality (i.e., sense of community) as a predictor of critical consciousness and exploring it in an understudied region (i.e., Ukraine). While our United States -based measures yielded factor structures that are not comparable to the United States, we found that sense of community is marginally significantly related to egalitarianism and perceived inequality, but not significantly related to sociopolitical action. We also found that women and Ukrainian speakers were more likely to experience sense of community and Ukrainian speakers were more likely to be involved in sociopolitical action. We discuss implications for research and theory

    The roles of compliance with Government Procurement Policy: moderating the effects between explanatory factors and Sustainable Public Procurement Practice

    Cases of non-compliance, irregularities and frauds in the government procurement still persist although compliance with Government Procurement Policy (GPP) is mandated by regulations. Complying with procurement standards by law does not necessarily succeeding in implementation of procurement best practices. This paper investigates the moderating impacts of compliance with the GPP on the relationship between the explanatory factors and current Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP) practice in Malaysia, in a comprehensive single framework. Survey questionnaires were administered to 104 government organisations and 177 responses were received from procurement officers. Based on the hierarchical multiple regression analysis, the anticipated outcome of this study is the extent to which the procurement compliance does not guarantee the implementation of SPP practice. The results of this study have provided some explanations regarding the extent of compliance with GPP on the relationship between the explanatory factors and SPP practice
