Cooperative Landscapes: a Comparative Study of Two Industrial Landscapes Linked to the Llobregat River

Existen múltiples acepciones del concepto de cooperación, pero todas aluden a la colaboración entre individuos en una causa común. La noción de paisaje cultural está íntimamente ligada a esta idea por tratarse de una construcción social que involucra a una comunidad que coopera para adaptarse al medio que habita. Este artículo aborda un aná lisis comparativo que indaga en la influencia de diferentes proceso s cooperativos en la génesis hi stórica y reivindicación contemporánea de dos paisajes industriales vinc ulados al río Llobregat (Catal unya), que actualmente están siendo reivindicados por su valor patrimonial: el Canal de la Infanta en el Baix Llobregat y las Colonias Textiles del Baix Berguedà. Se concluye el artículo sintetizand o las distintas fases que atraviesan estos dos paisajes productivos y mati zando las características de los modelos de cooperación y los agentes involucrados.There are many definitions of the concept of cooperation, but all of them refer to collaboration between individuals with a common cause. The notion of Cultural Landscape is closely linked to this idea because it is a social construct that involves several agents cooperating in the adaptation process to the physical and social environment in which they inhabit. This article undertakes a comparative analysis which explores the influence of different cooperative processes in the historical genesis and contemporary revindication of two industrial landscapes linked to the river Llobregat (Catalonia), which are currently being claimed for their heritage value: the Infanta Canal (Baix Llobregat) and the Textile Colonies (Baix Berguedà). Cálculo del EVA sectorial en el Ecuador

The way in which a country uses its resources in the different industries that comprise it determines the country’s level of economic growth. That is why, in order for the economy to develop, it is of such importance to be able to determine which sectors generate or destroy wealth. This paper proposes the use of the long-time known concept of residual income as a way to explore the performance of the Ecuadorian industries from 2008 to 2012. Economic Value Added (EVA ™) is a financial tool created by Stern Stewart & Company, based on these principles. That is why the aim of this paper is, using the data available in the Superintendence of Companies, to try to calculate the EVA for different sectors of the Ecuadorian economy and thereby try to determine which industries generate or destroy value for entrepreneurs. Once we calculated the EVA, we found that there is a considerable difference in performance for a foreign investor that can diversify the country risk, than for an investor that decides to invest exclusively in the country. Besides this we found that, although the performance of the industries vary across years, the sectors with the highest and lowest EVA are generally the same throughout the period studied. The industries that constantly have higher EVA values, in both percentages and in US dollars, are: mining and quarrying, other activities and services, and construction; while the economic sectors that constantly underperformed are: arts, entertainment and recreation; agriculture, forestry and fishing; and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning.La forma en la que un país utiliza sus recursos en las diferentes industrias que lo conforman determina el nivel de crecimiento de la economía. Es por esto que el determinar qué sectores generan o destruyen riqueza es de suma importancia para el desarrollo económico del país. En este trabajo se plantea el uso del concepto de ingreso residual para explorar el comportamiento de las industrias ecuatorianas en los del 2008 al 2012. Economic Value Added (EVA™) es una herramienta financiera, creada por Stern Stewart & Company, basada en estos principios. Es por esto que el objetivo de este trabajo es el de calcular, mediante los datos disponibles en la Superintendencia de Compañias, el EVA para los diferentes sectores de la economía ecuatoriana; y con esto tratar de determinar que industrias generan o destruyen valor para los empresarios. Una vez calculado el EVA pudimos encontrar, en primer lugar, que existe una considerable diferencia de desempeño para un inversionista extranjero que puede diversificar el riesgo país, y para un inversionista que decida el invertir únicamente en el país. Esto se debe a que el inversionista que únicamente va a invertir en Ecuador tiene al riesgo país como riesgo sistemático, lo cual causa que el costo de oportunidad del capital sea más alto y por ende el EVA calculado con el riego país es menor para todas las industrias. Además de esto encontramos que, a pesar de que el desempeño de las industrias varía en los diferentes años, los sectores con EVA más altos y más bajos suelen ser los mismos a lo largo del periodo estudiado. Las industrias que se mantienen con un EVA más alto a lo largo de los años, tanto en términos porcentuales como monetarios son: explotación de minas y canteras, otras actividades y servicios, y construcción; mientras las de menor EVA son: artes, entretenimiento y recreación; agricultura, ganadería, silvicultura y pesca; y suministro de electricidad, gas, vapor y aire acondicionado

O hidroxinaftoato de befênio no tratamento da ascaridíase das galinhas (Gallus gallus domesticus L. 1788)

The results obtained with the action of Bephenium Hidroxynaphtoate on chickens previously infested with eggs of Ascaridia galli (Schrank, 1788) are reported. This salt of Bephenium was to shown to act at 10 and 20 mg "pro-die" during six consecutive days in the pre-tissular, tissular and post-tissular phases. The statistical analysis of the date indicates that the results are about the same with 10 or 20 mg.Os autores apresentaram os resultados da ação do Hidroxinaftoato de befênio em aves previamente infestadas com ovos infestantes de Ascaridia galli (Schrank, 1788). O sal de befênio demonstrou ter ação nas doses de 10 e 20 mg "pro-die" durante 6 dias consecutivos nas fases pré-tissular, tissular e pós-tissular. A interpretação estatística indica que os resultados são os mesmos quer na dose de 10 mg ou de 20 mg
