Changing shapes: adiabatic dynamics of composite solitary waves

We discuss the solitary wave solutions of a particular two-component scalar field model in two-dimensional Minkowski space. These solitary waves involve one, two or four lumps of energy. The adiabatic motion of these composite non-linear non-dispersive waves points to variations in shape.Comment: 21 pages, 15 figures. To appear in Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomen

This is a second part of a fl oristic checklist of the calcareous Western Rif (N. Morocco), which comprises all vascular plants native or naturalized of the calcareous mountains between rivers Oued Laou and Oued Bouhya, which partly covers the Talassemtane National Park. This second part includes Dicotyledons from Caesalpiniaceae to Compositae, the rest of Dicotyledons, Monocotyledons still remaining for a third note that presumably will be published shortly. For each taxon the following items are included: accepted name, selected synonyms, localities where plants material has been collected, including previous records, general distribution, frequency and habitat. Some short comments are added to several taxa. A new combination is stablished: Digitalis obscura subsp. riphaea (Pau & Font Quer) Valdés & Mateos.

Generalized Zeta Functions and One-loop Corrections to Quantum Kink Masses

    Get PDF
A method for describing the quantum kink states in the semi-classical limit of several (1+1)-dimensional field theoretical models is developed. We use the generalized zeta function regularization method to compute the one-loop quantum correction to the masses of the kink in the sine-Gordon and cubic sinh-Gordon models and another two P(ϕ)2{\rm P}(\phi)_2 systems with polynomial self-interactions.Comment: 29 pages, 4 figures; version to appear in Nucl. Orographic Effects on Berry Morphology and Chemical Composition of Carignan and Grenache Noir Grapes

    Get PDF
A variation in the climatic parameters of an orographic vineyard influences the growth and developmentof vines and grapes. Understanding the effects of this is highly beneficial in determining how viticulturepractices can be modified to enhance grape quality. The aim of this study was to assess the effects of in-rowgrape position, altitude and vigour on berry morphology and grape maturity. The effects of vigour, altitudeand in-row grape position on berry weight and diameter, titratable acidity, pH and sugar concentrationof Carignan and Grenache noir grapes grown in a vineyard located in Priorat were investigated in the2021 vintage. The results show that Carignan grapes with a lower vigour demonstrated a higher sugarconcentration, berry weight and diameter, as well as lower titratable acidity, while the Grenache noirgrapes with a lower vigour achieved only a higher sugar concentration. The grapes at high altitude had ahigher sugar concentration in Carignan and higher titratable acidity in Grenache noir. Outer-row grapesof Carignan were characterised by lower titratable acidity and a higher sugar concentration, berry weightand diameter, while the outer-row grapes of Grenache noir displayed lower berry diameter, and a higherpH and sugar concentration. Vigour and in-row grape position have stronger effects on berry morphologyand chemical composition than altitude. Sugar concentration is more susceptible than other parameters tobe influenced by variability in the vineyard conditions

FAME.

Este proyecto es una apuesta de la CMA por el uso del software libre como elemento principal en desarrollos complejosFAME is a geographic information system, integrated in the Andalusian Environmental Information Net (REDIAM), to support the location and tracking of Threatened and Interesting Flora of Andalusia, which centralizes the information generated in the different projects related with the thematic in the Unique Data Reservoir of Andalusian Environmental Council (CMA).

    Get PDF

Two-Dimensional Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics: Two Fixed Centers of Force

    No full text
The problem of building supersymmetry in the quantum mechanics of two Coulombian centers of force is analyzed. It is shown that there are essentially two ways of proceeding. The spectral problems of the SUSY (scalar) Hamiltonians are quite similar and become tantamount to solving entangled families of Razavy and Whittaker-Hill equations in the first approach. When the two centers have the same strength, the Whittaker-Hill equations reduce to Mathieu equations. In the second approach, the spectral problems are much more difficult to solve but one can still find the zero-energy ground states
