Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh. A notable number of people have to go to and return from Dhaka every day. Most of the people use bus service. The situation of Dhaka-Pabna route bus service is not exception of this. Gradually the number of customer as well as service provider is increasing in this route. As a result, the service providers are facing competition to attract and retain customer. Measuring customer satisfaction is very important in attracting and retaining customer. This study was intended to identify service quality attributes in the long route public bus transit service and measure the customer satisfaction by surveying a number of 250 respondents. Finding shows that, overall 13% customers are very satisfied, 48% customers are somewhat satisfied, 32% customers are somewhat dissatisfied and 7% customers are very dissatisfied. Some recommendations are also provided to attract and retain customer

Design modification of airfoil by integrating sinusoidal leading edge and dimpled surface
Airfoil is widely used for aircraft wings and blades of helicopters, turbines, propellers, fans and compressors. Many researches have been conducted on focusing the leading edge, surface and trailing edge of airfoil in order to maximize airfoil lift and to reduce drag. Literature shows that using protuberances along the leading edge of NACA 2412, it is possible to attain better performance from the baseline. Besides, the inward dimpled surface of NACA 0018 produces lesser drag at a positive angle of attacks. However, there is no literature that integrates sinusoidal leading edge and dimpled to attain the benefits of the both. In this study, simulation has been done for design improvement of airfoil by integrating sinusoidal leading edge and dimpled surface. Simulations have been run using finite element method environment. Significant improvement has been observed from the simulation results.</p
Securing Electric Vehicle Performance: Machine Learning-Driven Fault Detection and Classification
Electric vehicles (EVs) are commonly recognized as environmentally friendly modes of transportation. They function by converting electrical energy into mechanical energy using different types of motors, which aligns with the sustainable principles embraced by smart cities. The motors of EVs store and consume electrical power from renewable energy (RE) sources through interfacing connections using power electronics technology to provide mechanical power through rotation. The reliable operation of an EV mainly relies on the condition of interfacing connections in the EV, particularly the connection between the 3- inverter output and the brushless DC (BLDC) motor. In this paper, machine learning (ML) tools are deployed for detecting and classifying the faults in the connecting lines from 3- inverter output to the BLDC motor during operational mode in the EV platform, considering double-line and three-phase faults. Several machine learning-based fault identification and classification tools, namely the Decision Tree, Logistic Regression, Stochastic Gradient Descent, AdaBoost, XGBoost, K-Nearest Neighbour, and Voting Classifier, were tuned for identifying and categorizing faults to ensure robustness and reliability. The ML classifications were developed based on the datasets of healthy and faulty conditions considering the combination of six critical parameters that have significance in reliable EV operation, namely the current supplied to the BLDC motor from the inverter, the modulated DC voltage, output speed, and measured speed, as well as the output of the Hall-effect sensor. In addition, the superiority of the proposed fault detection and classification approaches using ML tools was assessed by comparing the detection and classification efficiency through some statistical performance parameter comparisons among the classifiers
Changes in the menstrual hygiene management facilities and usage among Bangladeshi school girls and its effect on school absenteeism from 2014 to 2018
Background The lack of menstrual hygiene management (MHM) information and facilities in schools is a major contributor to adolescent girls’ school absenteeism in low- and middle-income countries like Bangladesh. Objectives This paper examines the changes over time in school MHM facilities, knowledge and perceptions among adolescent girls, in relation to school absenteeism between 2014 and 2018 in Bangladesh. Methods We examined changes in MHM and school absenteeism among schoolgirls using nationally representative data from the Bangladesh National Hygiene Baseline Survey 2014 and National Hygiene Survey 2018. Given the repetitive nature of our data and its clustering within participants, our method included performing descriptive analysis, bivariate analysis, and multivariate Generalised Estimating Equation (GEE) modelling to analyse these changes. Results Results showed that adolescent girls’ menstruation-related absenteeism decreased between 2014 and 2018. Percentage of adolescents who missed school decreased from 25% to 14% (PD: −11; CI: −16 to −6.1), while the average number of missed days reduced from 2.8 to 2.5 (PD: −0.33; CI: −0.57 to −0.10). In the GEE model, we found that living in rural areas (coef: −5.6; CI: −10.06 to −1.14), parental restrictions on going outside (coef: 4.47; CI: 0.75 to 8.2), education levels of girls (coef: −9.48; CI: −14.17 to −4.79), girl’s belief that menstruation affects school performance (coef: 23.32; CI: 19.71 to 26.93), and using old cloths (coef: −4.2; CI: −7.6 to −0.79) were significantly associated with higher absenteeism. However, participant’s age, type of school, knowledge of menstruation before menarche, receiving information regarding MHM, separate place for changing absorbents, and separate latrine and urine facility were not significantly associated with the changes in absenteeism over time. Conclusion This paper emphasised the associations between changes in school absenteeism, parental restrictions on students, students’ education levels, and menstruation-related misperceptions. Ongoing research, policy reviews, and targeted interventions to improve MHM perceptions among girls are required to provide long-term benefits for adolescent girls in Bangladesh
