This report belongs to phase II of a larger research project which deals with the history of the relationship between formers and agricultural engineers within the framework of farming developing projects in the Pampas region in the last 50 years. It presents an ethnographic and sociological reconstruction of practices and devices, routines and forms of labour division in the agricultural system knowledge, as it was implemented at each stages. It also rebuilds the history of the changes which took place under these conditions and the scientific backgrounds to which the dominant communication systems addressed
K mammella (OR 12.38; CI 95%: 1.29-118.34; p <0.05); K colon-retto (OR 13.91; CI 95%: 0,62-312.62; p<0.1)].

Anosov flows and Liouville pairs in dimension three
Building upon the work of Mitsumatsu and Hozoori, we establish a complete
homotopy correspondence between three-dimensional Anosov flows and certain
pairs of contact forms that we call Anosov Liouville pairs. We show a similar
correspondence between projectively Anosov flows and bi-contact structures,
extending the work of Mitsumatsu and Eliashberg-Thurston. As a consequence,
every Anosov flow on a closed oriented three-manifold gives rise to a
Liouville structure on which is well-defined up to homotopy,
and which only depends on the homotopy class of the Anosov flow. Our results
also provide a new perspective on the classification problem of Anosov flows in
dimension three.Comment: Comments welcome
An Approach to Invariant-based Program Refactoring
Refactoring tools include checking of an object-oriented program for the
fulfillment of preconditions, for ensuring correctness. However, program invariants
â semantic information about classes and fields assumed valid during program execution
â are not considered by this precondition checking. As a result, applicability
of automated refactorings is constrained in these cases, as refactorings that would be
applicable considering the invariants get rejected, usually requiring manual changes.
In this paper, we describe initial work on the use of program invariants (declared as
code annotations) to increase applicability of automated refactoring. We propose an
approach that uses primitive program transformations that employ the invariant to
make the program syntactically amenable to the desired refactoring, before applying
the refactoring itself
Subjective beliefs formation and elicitation rules : experimental evidence
Since they have been increasingly used in economics, elicitation rules for subjective beliefs are under scrutiny. In this paper, we propose an experimental design to compare the performance of such rules. Contrary to previous works in which elicited beliefs are compared to an objective benchmark, we consider a pure subjective belief framework (confidence in own performance in a cognitive task and a perceptual task). The performances of elicitation rules are assessed according to the accuracy of stated beliefs in predicting success. For the perceptual task we also compare stated beliefs to Signal Detection Theory predictions. We find consistent evidence in favor of the Lottery Rule which provides more accurate beliefs and is not sensitive to risk aversion. Furthermore the Free Rule, a simple rule with no incentives, elicits relevant beliefs and even outperforms the Quadratic Scoring Rule. Beside this comparison, we propose a belief formation model where we distinguish between two stages in the beliefs : beliefs for decision making and confidence beliefs. Our results give support to this model.Belief elicitation, confidence, Signal Detection Theory, methodology, incentives, experimental economics.
Relating Voluntary Turnover with Job Characteristics, Satisfaction and Work Exhaustion - An Initial Study with Brazilian Developers
High rates of turnover among software developers remain, involving additional
costs of hiring and training. Voluntary turnover may be due to workplace issues
or personal career decisions, but it might as well relate to Job
Characteristics, or even Job Satisfaction and Work Exhaustion. This paper
reports on an initial study which quantitatively measured those constructs
among 78 software developers working in Brazil who left their jobs voluntarily.
For this, we adapted well-known survey instruments, namely the JDS from Hackman
and Oldham's Job Characteristics Model, and Maslach et al.'s Burnout
Measurement. In average, developers demonstrated low to moderate autonomy
(3.75, on a 1-7 scale) and satisfaction (4.08), in addition to moderate
exhaustion (4.2) before leaving their jobs, while experiencing high task
significance (5.15). Also, testers reported significantly lower job
satisfaction than programmers. These results allow us to raise interesting
hypotheses to be addressed by future studies.Comment: 4 pages, no figures, 3 tables. Final version for ICSE CHASE 201
Cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure: from the case to review of literature
In response to an increased workload due to physiological or pathological stimuli, the heart may undergo a process of
growth with increased muscle mass called cardiac hypertrophy. It is a particular mechanism of long term compensation
used by the heart to adapt permanently to a greater workload.
Although, through its peculiar structural, molecular and metabolic characteristics, in early stage the hypertrophy allows to
maintain an adequate cardiac function, after a variable period of time, the same characteristics promote the evolution to
contractile dysfunction and heart failure. The latter represents an important cause of death and so the cardiac hypertrophy
increases the cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
In this paper we report a rare case of extremely high degree of concentric cardiac hypertrophy, with a heart weight of 1050
g and longitudinal diameter of 16.5 cm, transverse diameter of 16 cm and antero-posterior diameter of 9 cm. The thickness
of the left ventricle free wall was 4.2 cm, of the septum 4.3 cm and at the apex level 3.5 cm.
These data, compared with those described in scientific literature, indicate the exceptional nature of our necropsy finding
of a huge cardiac hypertrophy.
The analysis of the pathogenetic mechanisms, which may determinate the fatal event in case of cardiac hypertrophy, shows
that in the described case the death cause can be the onset of heart failure in presence of cardiomegaly
