Deconstructed and Inverted Multi-Criteria Evaluation for On-The-Fly Scenario Development and Decision-Making (Short Paper)

    Get PDF
We propose a variation of the conventional spatial multi-criteria evaluation workflow for suitability analysis that allows efficient on-the fly scenario development for decision-making. Our approach proposes to reconstruct the conventional MCE workflow in order to exclude computationally expensive geoprocessing from the iterative scenario development. We then introduce a procedure that replaces costly iterations of spatial operations with one off-line preprocessing step followed by iterations of much less computationally expensive database queries. We illustrate our approach for deconstructed and inverted multi-criteria analysis with a case study aiming at selecting suitable sites for wind turbines in the Swiss alps

Condition Monitoring for hydraulic Power Units – user-oriented entry in Industry 4.0

One of Bosch Rexroth’s newest developments is the ABPAC power unit, which is both modular and configurable. The modular design of the ABPAC is enhanced by a selfcontained Condition Monitoring System (CMS), which can also be used to retrofit existing designs. This dissertation shows how Industry 4.0-Technology provides special advantages for the diverse user profiles. Today, Hydraulic Power Units have either scheduled intervals for preventive maintenance or are repaired in case of component failures. Preventive maintenance concepts, until now, did not fully utilize the entire life expectancy of the components, causing higher maintenance costs and prolonged downtimes. Risk of unscheduled downtime forces the customer to stock an array of spare parts leading to higher inventory costs or in the event a spare is not readily available, the customer may encounter long delivery times and extended downtime. Bearing this in mind, we’ve conceived the idea of a self-contained intelligent Condition Monitoring System including a predictive maintenance concept, which is explained in the following

Multi-criteria aggregation for sensistive parcel-based census data

    Get PDF
Modern urban planning considers various socio-economic issues and hence requires fine-grained, potentially sensitive spatial data, raising the disclosure dilemma: Whilst it is imperative to aggregate fine-grained sensitive records large enough to avoid disclosure, aggregation blurs the information, potentially hindering insights about spatially explicit relationships. MASC is an aggregation algorithm for sensitive data, balancing five aggregation criteria

    Posmo: Ethische Revolution im Mobilitätsdatenmarkt

    Get PDF

Dermocystidiosis induced by the parasite Dermocystidium sp. in the Paracheirodon axelrodi

The Rio Negro floodplain (tributary of the Amazon River) is a natural habitat of the cardinal tetra Paracheirodon axelrodi. In home aquaria, this species has high vulnerability to superficial infetions and is affected by the protist Dermocystidium. Protist cysts were located in the dermis causing lesions reaching in the epidermis. We observed that a few weeks after the introduction of new wild ornamental fish (mostly Hemigrammus sp. or Hyphessobrycon sp.) into established home aquaria, the cardinal tetra fish became infected, suggesting that the new fish could have acted as carriers.Fil: Plaul, Silvia Elena.
