    One- and two-proton transfer reactions with vibrational Nuclei

    We extend a semiclassical model of transfer reactions to the case in which one of the collision partners is a vibrational nucleus. The model is applied to one- and two-proton stripping reactions in the 37Cl + 98Mo system, for which a rapid transition from normal to anomalous slope in the two proton transfer reaction at energies around the Coulomb barrier is experimentally observed.     Pion and Kaon Production in Nucleon - Nucleon Collisions

    Inclusive cross section for pion production in proton - proton collisions are calculated based on unintegrated parton distribution functions (uPDFs). In addition to purely gluonic terms the present approach includes also quark degrees of freedom. Phenomenological fragmentation functions from the literature are used. The new mechanisms are responsible for π+\pi^+ - π\pi^- asymmetry. In contrast to standard collinear approach, application of 2 \to 1 ktk_t - factorization approach can be extended towards much lower transverse momenta, both at mid and forward rapidity region.     Molecular epidemiology of domestic and sylvatic Trypanosoma cruzi infection in rural northwestern Argentina

    Genetic diversity of Trypanosoma cruzi populations and parasite transmission dynamics have been well documented throughout the Americas, but few studies have been conducted in the Gran Chaco ecoregion, one of the most highly endemic areas for Chagas disease, caused by T. cruzi. In this study, we assessed the distribution of T. cruzi lineages (identified by PCR strategies) in Triatoma infestans, domestic dogs, cats, humans and sylvatic mammals from two neighbouring rural areas with different histories of transmission and vector control in northern Argentina. Lineage II predominated amongst the 99 isolates characterised and lineage I amongst the six isolates obtained from sylvatic mammals. T. cruzi lineage IIe predominated in domestic habitats; it was found in 87% of 54 isolates from Tr. infestans, in 82% of 33 isolates from dogs, and in the four cats found infected. Domestic and sylvatic cycles overlapped in the study area in the late 1980s, when intense domestic transmission occurred, and still overlap marginally. The introduction of T. cruzi from sylvatic into domestic habitats is likely to occur very rarely in the current epidemiological context. The household distribution of T. cruzi lineages showed that Tr. infestans, dogs and cats from a given house compound shared the same parasite lineage in most cases. Based on molecular evidence, this result lends further support to the importance of dogs and cats as domestic reservoir hosts of T. cruzi. We believe that in Argentina, this is the first time that lineage IIc has been isolated from naturally infected domestic dogs and Tr. infestans.Fil: Cardinal, Marta Victoria.     Functional bosonization with time dependent perturbations

    We extend a path-integral approach to bosonization previously developed in the framework of equilibrium Quantum Field Theories, to the case in which time-dependent interactions are taken into account. In particular we consider a non covariant version of the Thirring model in the presence of a dynamic barrier at zero temperature. By using the Closed Time Path (Schwinger-Keldysh) formalism, we compute the Green's function and the Total Energy Density of the system. Since our model contains the Tomonaga Luttinger model as a particular case, we make contact with recent results on non-equilibrium electronic systems.Comment: 21 pages, 8 figure

    Chinese–Spanish neural machine translation enhanced with character and word bitmap fonts

    Recently, machine translation systems based on neural networks have reached state-of-the-art results for some pairs of languages (e.g., German–English). In this paper, we are investigating the performance of neural machine translation in Chinese–Spanish, which is a challenging language pair. Given that the meaning of a Chinese word can be related to its graphical representation, this work aims to enhance neural machine translation by using as input a combination of: words or characters and their corresponding bitmap fonts. The fact of performing the interpretation of every word or character as a bitmap font generates more informed vectorial representations. Best results are obtained when using words plus their bitmap fonts obtaining an improvement (over a competitive neural MT baseline system) of almost six BLEU, five METEOR points and ranked coherently better in the human evaluation.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version

    This study wants to investigate and analyze the implementation of Withholding Tax on Land and Building sector in Rural and Urban In Sub Medang Kampai Dumai (Comparative Study Before And After Management of the Autonomous Year 2012-2013).And the purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of land and building tax collection sector in Rural and Urban District of Medang Kampai Dumai before and after managed autonomously Year 2012-2013 and to know what are the factors that affect not optimal for collection of the Property Tax Sector in Rural and Urban District of Medang Kampai Dumai after managed autonomously .This study uses qualitative research methods to include an assessment of descriptive data . Intake of informants in this study was purposive sampling that data source retrieval techniques with particular consideration , particular consideration is the person who is considered the most out of what we expect or as a ruler that will allow researchers to explore the object / social situation under study .Based on the research that has been done is used the theory of regional autonomy .     We present here three new solutions of Brans-Dicke theory for a stationary geometry with cylindrical symmetry in the presence of matter in rigid rotation with Tμμ0T^\mu_\mu\neq 0. All the solutions have eternal closed timelike curves in some region of the spacetime, the size of which depends on ω\omega.     The influence of pulse duration on the stress levels in ablation of ceramics: A finite element study

    We present a finite element model to investigate the dynamic thermal and mechanical response of ceramic materials to pulsed infrared radiation. The model was applied to the specific problem of determining the influence of the pulse duration on the stress levels reached in human dental enamel irradiated by a CO2 laser at 10.6 mm with pulse durations between 0.1 and 100 ms and sub-ablative fluence. Our results indicate that short pulses with durations much larger than the characteristic acoustic relaxation time of the material can still cause high stress transients at the irradiated site, and indicate that pulse durations of the order of 10 ms may be more adequate both for enamel surface modification and for ablation than pulse durations up to 1 ms.
