Liderazgo personal y universidad de formación en los médicos del departamento de especialidades médicas de un hospital nacional de Lima - Cercado, 2016

El presente estudio de tipo cualitativo, exploratorio, observacional, descriptivo, no experimental y transversal, realizado en un hospital nacional de Lima Cercado. La muestra estudiada estuvo conformada por médicos del departamento de especialidades médicas que accedieron al correcto llenado de la encuesta motivo del presente estudio, instrumento que se basó en los cuestionarios desarrollados por el ingeniero David Fischman para su obra, El espejo del líder (2004), sobre una muestra no probabilística y dirigida compuesta por 51 médicos de una población total de 69 médicos que no tienen cargo administrativo lo que representa un 73.91% de esa población. Se obtuvo como resultados que no existe relación entre el tipo de universidad y el nivel de liderazgo de médicos del departamento de especialidades médicas de un hospital nacional de Lima. No existe relación entre el tipo de universidad y el nivel de control de ego de los médicos de ese mismo departamento. No existe relación entre el tipo de universidad y el nivel de Equilibrio de los médicos. No existe relación entre el tipo de universidad y el nivel de Desapego y finalmente no existe relación entre el tipo de universidad y el nivel de Responsabilidad de los médicos del departamento de especialidades médicas de un hospital nacional de Lima, 2016. Conclusión: No se halló diferencia significativa entre la presencia de características de liderazgo personal y la universidad de procedencia de los profesionales médicos del departamento de especialidad es médicas del hospital de Lima Cercado

Evaluación de las solicitudes “irregulares” de dispensación en farmacia comunitaria

Conocer el perfil de los pacientes que solicitan medicamentos en la farmacia sin presentar la correspondiente receta, evaluar las causas por las que los demandan. Cuantificar en qué casos, según criterio del farmacéutico, el medicamento podría ser dispensable. Estudio descriptivo transversal que se realizó en dos farmacias comunitarias de A Coruña durante la primera semana de agosto de 2010. Se define como solicitud irregular de dispensación la petición por parte de un paciente de un medicamento que requiere receta, sin presentar dicho documento en el momento en que realiza la solicitud. Se analizaron las solicitudes irregulares de dispensación de medicamentos que necesitan receta sin presentarla. Se registraron un total de 2.055 solicitudes de dispensación, 179 de las cuales fueron irregulares, lo que supone un 8,71% de las solicitudes totales de medicamentos de prescripción. 33 (18,44%) conocían la necesidad de receta para adquirir el medicamento y 146 (81,56%) decían desconocerlo. 158 (88,27%) de las solicitudes irregulares de dispensación serían dispensables según criterio profesional farmacéutico, considerándose no justificada la dispensación en veintiún casos (11,73%). Siguiendo un criterio estrictamente profesional y ético, y teniendo en consideración las contradicciones y paradojas que la legislación presenta, se considera que la mayor parte de las demandas irregulares están justificadas y, por lo tanto, se realiza la dispensación. Deben producirse cambios legislativos que incrementen la capacidad y la responsabilidad del farmacéutico comunitario en la resolución de estas situaciones

Relación de ayuda al familiar del paciente en situación crítica

Intensive Care Units have an organizational structure that is designed to facilitate the work of medical and nursing staff and break the link between the individual and his or her environment.Care of the critical patient is incomplete if it does not include dealing with the problems of the family members.The present study uses a descriptive-qualitative method to look at how ICU nurses help families to cope adequately with the loss of a loved one and how nurses feel about this situation.Nurses feel themselves to be responsible for the care that families in mourning need. They take on an important role in the comfort given to relatives because they are constantly at the patients’ bedside, but they do not consider they are qualified when it comes to giving emotional support as they do not possess the appropriate mechanisms or skills to provide such care.Las UCIs están organizadas con una estructura que rompe la conexión de la persona con su entorno y pensadas para facilitar el trabajo de médicos y enfermeras.El cuidado del paciente crítico es incompleto si no aborda los problemas de sus familiares.Este estudio plantea, a través de un método descriptivo-cualitativo, cómo ayudan las enfermeras de UCI a las familias para que realicen un afrontamiento adecuado ante la pérdida de un ser querido y cómo se sienten las enfermeras ante esta situación.Las enfermeras se sienten responsables de los cuidados que las familias en situación de duelo necesitan. Adquieren un papel relevante en la atención a familiares, por su permanencia junto a los pacientes, pero no se sienten capacitadas en la parte correspondiente al cuidado de las emociones por no poseer mecanismos ni destrezas para proporcionar apoyo humano al familiar

A Full PFPF Shell Model Study of a~=~48 Nuclei

Exact diagonalizations with a minimally modified realistic force lead to detailed agreement with measured level schemes and electromagnetic transitions in $^{48}$Ca, $^{48}$Sc, $^{48}$Ti, $^{48}$V, $^{48}$Cr and $^{48}$Mn. Gamow-Teller strength functions are systematically calculated and reproduce the data to within the standard quenching factor. Their fine structure indicates that fragmentation makes much strength unobservable. As a by-product, the calculations suggest a microscopic description of the onset of rotational motion. Enhancement of electroporation facilitated immunogene therapy via T-reg depletion

Regulatory T cells (T-regs) can negatively impact tumor antigen-specific immune responses after infiltration into tumor tissue. However, depletion of T-regs can facilitate enhanced anti-tumor responses, thus augmenting the potential for immunotherapies. Here we focus on treating a highly aggressive form of cancer using a murine melanoma model with a poor prognosis. We utilize a combination of T-reg depletion and immunotherapy plasmid DNA delivered into the B16F10 melanoma tumor model via electroporation. Plasmids encoding murine granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor and human B71 were transfected with electroporation into the tumor and transient elimination of T-regs was achieved with CD25-depleting antibodies (PC61). The combinational treatment effectively depleted T-regs compared to the untreated tumor and significantly reduced lung metastases. The combination treatment was not effective in increasing the survival, but only effective in suppression of metastases. These results indicate the potential for combining T-reg depletion with immunotherapy-based gene electrotransfer to decrease systemic metastasis and potentially enhance survival

Microparticles Harboring Sonic Hedgehog Morphogen Improve the Vasculogenesis Capacity of Endothelial Progenitor Cells Derived from Myocardial Infarction Patients.

Endothelial progenitor cells (EPC) play a role in endothelium integrity maintenance and regeneration. Decreased numbers of EPC or their impaired function correlates with an increase in cardiovascular events. Thus, EPC are important predictors of cardiovascular mortality and morbidity. Microparticles carrying Sonic hedgehog (Shh) morphogen (MPShhþ) trigger pro-angiogenic responses, both in endothelial cells and in ischaemic rodent models. Here, we propose that MPShhþ regulates EPC function, thus enhancing vasculogenesis, and correcting the defects in dysfunctional EPC obtained from acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients

Hsp70 and Hsp40 inhibit an inter-domain interaction necessary for transcriptional activity in the androgen receptor.

Molecular chaperones such as Hsp40 and Hsp70 hold the androgen receptor (AR) in an inactive conformation. They are released in the presence of androgens, enabling transactivation and causing the receptor to become aggregation-prone. Here we show that these molecular chaperones recognize a region of the AR N-terminal domain (NTD), including a FQNLF motif, that interacts with the AR ligand-binding domain (LBD) upon activation. This suggests that competition between molecular chaperones and the LBD for the FQNLF motif regulates AR activation. We also show that, while the free NTD oligomerizes, binding to Hsp70 increases its solubility. Stabilizing the NTD-Hsp70 interaction with small molecules reduces AR aggregation and promotes its degradation in cellular and mouse models of the neuromuscular disorder spinal bulbar muscular atrophy. These results help resolve the mechanisms by which molecular chaperones regulate the balance between AR aggregation, activation and quality control

Sustainable and conventional banking in Europe

At the end of the 20th century a new banking model, the so-called ethical banking, emerged becoming the maximum exponent of a socially responsible investment. The financial crisis in 2008 led to a distrust of the conventional financial system and consequently investors began to look with interest this new banking, which only invests in ethical activities and products, with social and environmental criteria, total transparency and a democratic management. The aim of this article is to analyze the economic structure of ethical banking, compared to that of conventional banking, by paying attention to its liquidity, coverage and solvency. Specifically, We compare the financial statements of Triodos Bank, the main European ethical bank belonging to the Global Alliance for Banking on Values, with two of the main conventional banks of each of the five countries in Europe in which it operates. To do this, we apply a financial and economic analysis to the period from 2015 to 2018, the means difference test and analysis of variance on an array of financial ratios and, finally, probit regressions. The results reveal that ethical banking is growing more than conventional banking and it presents greater liquidity and solvency, although, in general terms, its profitability is not higher. In conclusion, both savers and investors have guarantees that their savings are invested not only in a responsible but also in a confident way in ethical banking

Estudio cinético de la fotodegradación del ión p-hidroxibencenodiazonio en medio polar

A study on the photodecomposition of p-hydroxybenzenediazonium ion (PDQ) has been made using chromatographicand spectrophotometric data obtained from UV-irradiated (254 nm) PDQ solutions in acetonitrile and aqueous media.The HPLC and HPLC-mass results indicate that 4-acetamidophenol is the main product formed after the irradiationof PDQ in acetonitrile. This is explained as a consequence of the initial formation of the aryl cation which is laterinvolved in a Ritter’s reaction. A kinetic analysis of the spectrophotometric data reveals that PDQ photodegradation isfaster in acetonitrile (observed rate constant (kobs) = 0.1442 s-1) than in acidifi ed acetonitrile (kobs = 0.009 s-1) indicatinga higher photostability of the protonated species derived from PDQ. The second order constant (0.062 M s-1) found forthe PDQ photodecomposition in phosphate buffer (pH 7) is explained in term of the equilibrium between protonatedand non-protonated species coming from the acid dissociation of PDQSe ha realizado un estudio sobre la fotodescomposición del ión p-hidroxibencenodiazonio (PDQ) basado en los datosespectrofotométricos y cromatográfi cos obtenidos con disoluciones de PDQ expuestas a irradiación UV (254 nm) enmedio de acetonitrilo y agua.
