Finite element approximation for the fractional eigenvalue problem

The purpose of this work is to study a finite element method for finding solutions to the eigenvalue problem for the fractional Laplacian. We prove that the discrete eigenvalue problem converges to the continuous one and we show the order of such convergence. Finally, we perform some numerical experiments and compare our results with previous work by other authors.Comment: 20 pages, 6 figure

Perfil Cineantropométrico, Composición Corporal Y Somatotipo Del Plantel De Fútbol Femenino De Primera División Y Reserva Del Club Estudiantes De Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Objetivo: obtener el perfil cineantropométrico para conocer la composición corporal (haciendo hincapié en la masa muscular y adiposa) y el somatotipo del plantel de fútbol femenino del club, a fin de compararlos con equipos de similar nivel y de elite. Métodos: se realizó un estudio transversal descriptivo y se midieron en 32 jugadoras las variables antropométricas de perfil restringido de acuerdo con los estándares de la Sociedad Internacional para el Avance de la Cineantropometría (ISAK). Se utilizó el método de cinco componentes de Kerr para obtener la composición corporal y el de Heath-Carter para calcular los componentes del Somatotipo. Resultados: peso 58.92 ± 8.56 kg (media ± DS); talla 160.43 ± 6.14 cm; IMC 22.88 ± 3.02; masa muscular 41.54 ± 4.52 %; masa adiposa 33.16 ± 5.17 %; Σ 6 Pliegues 95.32 ± 27.61 mm; somatotipo 4.32-3.89-1.85, clasificación endomorfo- mesomorfo. Conclusiones: se observan porcentajes de masa muscular por debajo y de masa adiposa por encima con respecto a los de los equipos comparados por lo que resulta necesario incrementar el nivel de entrenamiento ya que la mejora de éstos genera una posición de ventaja para la práctica del fútbol. Se hace necesario un seguimiento longitudinal para generar un perfil por puesto y mayores estudios para construir los de los diferentes niveles del fútbol argentino.Objective: Obtain the Kineanthropometric profile to know the body composition (emphasizing muscle and adipose mass) and the club of the club's women's football squad, in order to compare them with teams of similar level and elite. Methods: A descriptive transverse study was conducted and the anthropometric variables of restricted profile were measured in 32 players in accordance with the standards of the International Society for the advancement of kinetropometry (ISAK). The Kerr component method was used to obtain body composition and that of Heath-Carter to calculate the somatotype components. Results: Weight 58.92 ± 8.56 kg (mean ± ds); Size 160.43 ± 6.14 cm; BMI 22.88 ± 3.02; Muscle mass 41.54 ± 4.52 %; adipose mass 33.16 ± 5.17 %; Σ 6 folds 95.32 ± 27.61 mm; Somatotype 4.32-3.89-1.85, endomorph-mesomorphic classification. Conclusions: Muscle mass percentages are observed below and adipose dough above with respect to those of the teams compared, so it is necessary to increase the level of training since the improvement of these generates an advantage position for the practice of football . Longitudinal follow -up is necessary to generate a profile by position and greater studies to build those of the different levels of Argentine football

Interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin FEM for the p(x)p(x)-Laplacian

In this paper we construct an "Interior Penalty" Discontinuous Galerkin method to approximate the minimizer of a variational problem related to the $p(x)-$Laplacian. The function $p:\Omega\to [p_1,p_2]$ is log H\"{o}lder continuous and $1<p_1\leq p_2<\infty$. We prove that the minimizers of the discrete functional converge to the solution. We also make some numerical experiments in dimension one to compare this method with the Conforming Galerkin Method, in the case where $p_1$ is close to one. Las actitudes de los docentes de música ante las TIC

La utilización de las TIC en la Educación Musical implica cambios en el proceso de enseñanza. Es por ello importante indagar sobre las actitudes que presentan los docentes de Música en los centros de Primaria y Secundaria ante la utilización de las Nuevas Tecnologías en el aula. Ello implica conocer cómo influye en la actitud del profesor diferentes parámetros como pueden ser el grado de preparación, los conocimientos existentes, las destrezas didácticas relacionadas con la materia, la metodología utilizada en las aulas, el nivel de integración de las TIC en el aula, así como el grado de motivación e interés que presenta el docente ante este nuevo reto educativo.The use of ICT in Music Education involves changes in the teaching process. El estereotipo racial en los adolescentes

Los objetivos de este estudio fueron analizar los estereotipos racistas ante los inmigrantes de los adolescentes y analizar si el sexo, el ciclo educativo y el hecho de tener experiencias de relación con inmigrantes introducen diferencias en los prejuicios de los adolescentes. Participaron 1461 adolescentes de entre 11 y 18 años. Ellos respondieron la Escala de racismo moderno. Se observó que la décima parte de los participantes mostraron prejuicios negativos, que las chicas incurren menos que los chicos en el prejuicio sutil, que los estudiantes del primer ciclo de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria se muestran más prejuiciosos que los del segundo ciclo y que los prejuicios sutiles se producen en mayor medida en los adolescentes que no se han relacionado con inmigrantes. Se derivan algunas implicaciones prácticas y se realizan algunas autocríticas.The aims of this study were to analyze the racial stereotyping of adolescents toward immigrants and analyze whether sex, the educational level and having experiences regarding immigrants introduce differences in the attitudes’ adolescents. Participants were 1461 adolescents aged between 11 and 18 years. They answered the modern racism scale. It was noted that a tenth of the participants showed negative prejudices, which incur fewer the girls than the boys in the subtle prejudice, that students of the first cycle of secondary school are more prejudist than the pupils of second cycle, and subtle prejudices occur more in adolescents who have not had contact with immigrants. New insights on the cranial anatomy of Exaeretodon: intraspecific variation and taxonomic implications

Exaeretodon is a very abundant non-mammalian cynodont from the Upper Triassic found in South America and India. Presently, two species are considered valid: E. argentinus (Cabrera, 1943) from Argentina and E. riograndensis Abdala et al. 2002 from Brazil. We studied several unpublished specimens tentatively assigned to E. argentinus from the Ischigualasto Fm. (San Juan Province, Argentina) that range from ~130mm to ~400mm in basal skull length. Regardless of the individual size, two morphotypes were identified on the basis of differences in the zygomatic region, including: the presence/absence of a process of the jugal; the shape, relative orientation, and posterior extension of the dorsal and ventral zygomatic rami of the jugal; and the morphology and orientation of the zygomatic portion of the squamosal. The holotype of E. argentinus (formerly Belesodon argentinus Cabrera, 1943) is an incomplete left lower jaw. Only the holotypes of the once valid E. frenguelli Cabrera, 1943 and Theropsis robusta Cabrera, 1943 (presently considered junior synonyms of E. argentinus) and E. riograndensis preserve the relevant portions of the zygomatic region. These specimens represent only one of the morphotypes whereas the second morphotype has not been previously recognized. In addition, there are differences among the specimens of the first morphotype that were originally interpreted to be due to preservational artifacts but could instead account for intraspecific variation. Our preliminary results suggest that the second morphotype might characterize a new taxon, highlighting the importance of an integral re-evaluation of Exaeretodon Cabrera, 1943 considering all the evidence available.Fil: Gaetano, Leandro Carlos.
