Anatomy of Higgs decays into γγ\gamma \gamma and γZ\gamma Z within the EChL in the RξR_\xi gauges

In this work we study the Higgs boson decays into two photons and into one photon and one ZZ gauge boson within the context of the non-linear Effective Field Theory called the Electroweak Chiral Lagrangian. We present a detailed computation of the corresponding amplitudes to one-loop level in the covariant RξR_\xi gauges. We assume that the fermionic loop contributions are as in the Standard Model and focus here just in the computation of the bosonic loop contributions. Our renormalization program and the anatomy of the various contributions participating in the RξR_\xi gauges are fully explored. With this present computation we demonstrate the gauge invariance of the EChL result, not only for the case of on-shell Higgs boson, but also for the most general and interesting case of off-shell Higgs boson. We finally analyse and conclude on the special relevance of the Goldstone boson loops, in good agreement with the expected chiral loops behaviour in Chiral Lagrangians. We perform a systematic comparison with the corresponding computation of the Standard Model in the RξR_\xi gauges and with the previous EChL results in the unitary gauge. This work represents the first computation within the EChL of these Higgs observables to one-loop in the most general RξR_\xi gauges and with a full renormalization program description, not yet fully explored in the previous literature and which is different to the most frequently used in the linear Effective Field Theory (SMEFT).Comment: 44 pages, 10 figures.

Abstract: The catalogue entitled Lletraferides modernes. Catàleg de les escriptores valencianes dels segles XVI-XVIII (Herrero 2009) provided a starting point for the compilation of Valencian «women of letters» in the Modern Age. Although this catalogue helped to recover the names of these authors, the process is greatly hindered by the diversity of textual localisation. By considering the different genres these writers, particularly the religious authors, favoured (poetry, mystic, spiritual auto/biography,…), this paper aims to provide a number of conclusions for subsequent application in the sociolinguistic, literary and genre analysis of these works. Keywords: Catalogue, Textual localisation, Women religious authors, Valencian, Moder

Arithmetics and combinatorics of tropical Severi varieties of univariate polynomials

We give a description of the tropical variety of univariate polynomials of degree n having two double roots. As a set, it is given as the union of three types of maximal cones of dimension n-1, where only cones of two of these types are cones of the secondary fan of {0,...,n}. Through Kapranov's theorem, this goal is achieved by a careful study of the possible valuations of the elementary symmetric functions of the roots of a polynomial with two double root. Despite its apparent simplicity, the computation of the tropical Severi variety has both combinatorial and arithmetic ingredients.Comment: 24 pages, 5 figures. Minor improvement

Non-decoupling effects of SUSY in the physics of Higgs bosons and their phenomenological implications

    Get PDF
We consider a plausible scenario in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) where all the genuine supersymmetric (SUSY) particles are heavier than the electroweak scale. In this situation, indirect searches via their radiative corrections to low energy observables are complementary to direct searches, and they can be crucial if the SUSY masses are at the TeV energy range. We summarize the most relevant heavy SUSY radiative effects in Higgs boson physics and emphasize those that manifest a non-decoupling behaviour. We focus, in particular, on the SUSY-QCD non-decoupling effects in fermionic Higgs decays, flavour changing Higgs decays and Yukawa couplings. Some of their phenomenological implications at future colliders are also studied.Comment: Invited talk given by M. J.
