El redescubrimiento del patrimonio documental: la difusión presencial y virtual en la Biblioteca de Catalunya

Els recursos que tenien les biblioteques per donar a conèixer els seus fons es van mantenir invariables durant anys. Es podien preparar visites i exposicions, o els bibliotecaris podien participar en activitats professionals que contribuïen a donar més visibilitat als fons.Des de principis del segle xxi, però, el creixement exponencial de les noves tecnologies ha comportat que la difusió tradicional dels fons hagi quedat en un segon terme. Ara, cal tenir en compte les xarxes socials si volem garantir la màxima difusió dels fons.Libraries have many traditional ways to make their collections public, which have not changed at all for years. They could prepare visits, exhibitions, or the librarians could take part in professional activities in order to increase their collections visibility.Nevertheless, from the early 21st century, the exponential growing of the new technologies has implied that the traditional dissemination of the collections remains in a second term. Now, we have to have social networks in mind if we want the greatest diffusion for the collections.In particular, those documents in the Biblioteca de Catalunya (BC) that we want to disseminate show a huge contrast between their long time of conservation and the speed in which the information in the social networks becomes obsolete. With this article we will check some ways that are used at the BC to increase the collections visibility.Los recursos con que contaban las bibliotecas para dar a conocer sus fondos se han mantenido invariables durante años. Se podían preparar visitas y exposiciones, o los bibliotecarios podían participar en actividades profesionales que contribuían a dar más visibilidad al fondo.Sin embargo, desde principios del siglo xxi, el crecimiento exponencial de las nuevas tecnologías ha comportado que la difusión tradicional de los fondos haya quedado en un segundo plano. Creació de materials i proposta d'avaluació per competències en el marc de dues assignatures obligatòries del Grau d'Història

Codi del projecte: 2014PID-UB/005El projecte que s’ha dut a terme és la continuació del projecte “Disseny de dues assignatures obligatòries del Grau d’Història: revisió dels continguts, Creació de materials i proposta d'avaluació per competències” (2012PID-UB/149). Ambdós projectes tenen com a finalitat donar una coherència i unitat a dues de les assignatures obligatòries que s’imparteixen des del Departament d’Història Medieval, Paleografia i Diplomàtica: “Història Medieval” i “Paleografia i Diplomàtica”. És a dir, el que es pretén amb aquest projecte, com també amb l’anterior, és coordinar el professorat, evitar els acoblaments i els buits en els plans docents, tant a nivell de continguts històrics com procedimentals, però sobretot millorar els aprenentatges del nostre alumnat. Les accions que s’han dut a terme giren entorn a la coordinació dels equips docents, la redefinició dels plans docents, el disseny de nous instruments d’avaluació i a la creació de materials docents. Els resultats previstos eren la millora dels resultats de l’avaluació acreditativa, reduir la taxa d’abandonament i augmentar la motivació i l’interès de l’alumnat per les nostres matèries. Després d’analitzar els indicadors d’avaluació, podem afirmar que hem assolit bona part dels objectius

El Testimoni de Rosa Roig, un exemple de renovació pedagògica a les Escoles Normals del primer terç de segle XX = The Testimonial of Rosa Roig : An Example of Educational Renewal in Teacher Training Schools in the Early 20th Century

L'any 1931, tot just iniciada la II República, Rosa Roig i Soler fa un repàs de la tasca pedagògica que ha dut a terme com a professora d'Història a la Normal femenina de les Balears durant els darrers divuit anys. En una extensa memòria, detalla la metodologia que aplicà a l'experiència docent, l'enfocament dels continguts que impartí i els materials que emprà. Aquest document és reproduït íntegrament en aquestes pàgines perquè el lector pugui apropar-se a una experiència renovadora a través del testimoni de la protagonista. L'acompanyem amb unes pàgines preliminars per contextualitzar el document i ressaltar-ne les aportacions que ens sembla que són més interessants.Among the numerous hitherto unpublished documents that we managed to unite when were researching the life and teaching work of Rosa Roig, we came across an invaluable testimonial, written and signed by Rosa Roig herself and dated October 6th 1931, entitled My 18 Years as a History Teacher at the Balearic Women’s Teacher Training School. In fifty-five typed pages, Rosa Roig explains in detail her experience as a history teacher at the Balearic women’s teacher training school for primary teachers. She reflects scientifically on history as a discipline and outlines the approach she took to teaching it, the internal dynamics of her classes, the activities she undertook with students both inside and outside the class, the material that was used, assessment methods and the results that were obtained. She also highlights her work outside the school in association with her post there, like the publication of articles, organization of scientific activities and participation in social initiatives. On few occasions are we fortunate to count on a testimonial like this, with its detailed insight into the teaching practices of a teacher and the internal history of teacher training schools in the early 20th century, in the midst of the consolidation of an educational reform movement initiated decades before by the ILE (Institución Libre de Enseñanza). Rosa Roig, who trained at the Higher Teacher Training School and was awarded a grant by the JAE (Junta para Ampliación de Estudios) to visit schools in France, Belgium, and Switzerland, became a good example of those reformist teachers who gradually took up teaching posts at teacher training schools before the Civil War. Although we have already studied Rosa Roig’s life and work, using these memoires among other documents, we believe that their reproduction may be of great interest to readers of this journal, given that it is a hitherto unpublished document from family archives. We will thus introduce her memoires by giving a brief explanation of who Rosa Roig was and her contributions to educational reforms during the period, contextualizing the reproduced text and highlighting what we consider to be the most important ideas so as to facilitate its reading.En el año 1931, recién iniciada la II República, Rosa Roig i Soler revisa la tarea pedagógica que ha realizado como profesora de historia en la Normal femenina de les Balears durante los últimos dieciocho años en una extensa memoria, adentrándose en detalles sobre la metodología de sus clases, el enfoque de los contenidos, o los materiales utilizados. Ecohydrologically important subsurface structures in peatlands revealed by ground-penetrating radar and complex conductivity surveys.

The surface pattern of vegetation influences the composition and humification of peat laid down during the development of a bog, producing a subsurface hydrological structure that is expected to affect both the rate and pattern of water flow. Subsurface peat structures are routinely derived from the inspection of peat cores. However, logistical limits on the number of cores that can be collected means that the horizontal extent of these structures must be inferred. We consider whether subsurface patterns in peat physical properties can be mapped in detail over large areas with ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and complex conductivity by comparing geophysical measurements with peat core data along a 36 m transect through different microhabitats at Caribou Bog, Maine. The geophysical methods show promise. Peat horizons produced radar reflections because of changes in the volumetric moisture content. Although these reflections could not be directly correlated with the peat core data, they were related to the depth-averaged peat properties which varied markedly between the microhabitats. Well-decomposed peat below a hollow was characterized by a discontinuous sequence of chaotic wavy reflections, while distinct layering of the peat below an area of hummocks coincided with a pattern of parallel planar reflections. The complex conductivity survey showed spatial variation in the real and imaginary conductivities which resulted from changes in the pore water conductivity; peat structures may also have influenced the spatial pattern in the complex conductivity. The GPR and complex conductivity surveys enabled the developmental history of the different microhabitats along the studied transect to be inferred

Modelling of solid oxide electrolizer and hydrogen leak estimation

Solid Oxide Elecyrolizers (SOEC) are electrochemical devises that produce hydrogen from water using the energy of an electric power source. SOEC operate at high temperatures (around 800ºC) and have efficiencies around 53% [1]. One of the most interesting scenarios of SOEC use is the storage of energy in hydrogen form when renewable power sources do not match the load. Because of this, it is important to study the dynamic behavior of SOEC systems in order to know their ability to adapt to changing power profiles. Different works describe SOEC models in the literature, as reviewed in [2], but time dependent models are scarse [3] and very few of the models are experimentally validated. This work presents a dy-namic model of a SOEC implemented in MATLAB Simulink and its match with experimental data. One important issue in SOEC stacks is hydrogen leak, which aggravates with ageing and is mostly caused by the high operating temperatures. The analysis of the experimental data of this work suggested hydrogen leak. Based on the SOEC thermal model, a methodology to quantify the flow of hydrogen that is leaked out is proposed and applied to the experimental system.Postprint (published version
