The liver is one of the most essential organs in the body, as it regulates a variety of physiological functions. It plays a role in metabolism, secretion, storage and among other things. It has a high ability for detoxication and the creation of beneficial principles. A nutritious meal is essential for developing tissue and cells, however nowadays people avoid eating healthy meals in favor of fast food to save time and money. This junk food is jam-packed with pollutants like phthalates that are bad for the body, as well as excessive amounts of sugar, salt and trans-fat. Numerous metabolic illnesses and systemic issues like obesity, diabetes and liver disease are caused by them. This type of meal or cuisine is referred to as Viruddha Aahara in Ayurveda. Viruddh Aahara, when consumed in excess, agitates the Doshas at their locations and remains in the body, blocking channels (Strotoavrodha). This block prevents nutrients from reaching the Dhatus (tissue) and many Dhatujanya Vikara develop as a result. As a result, hepatotoxic chemicals' injury to the liver has serious consequences. Toxic substances, excessive alcohol intake, virus infections, medicines such as paracetamol, antibiotics and autoimmune disorders are the main causes of liver damage. Taking the all the above facts in consideration the selection of the study has been done

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both processes are involved in the development of diabetes. Diabetes is also known as Madhumeha in Ayurveda. Diabetes Mellitus has become a global problem in spite of advances in modern science. Ancient science of Ayurveda has discussed diabetes at length thousands of years ago. Number of diabetic patients are increasing in very high range. Year by year, its growing speed is very fast. In Ayurveda there are many ways to prevent diabetes mellitus and to cure its complications. Ayurvedic medications and management is very helpful and very effective in specially for diabetes. In this paper, trying to explain the hypoglycemic effect of Momordica (Karela) in diabetes mellitus (Madhumeh). Karela is specifically used as a folk medicine for diabetes. Several researches proved that it contains a hypoglycaemic or insulin-like principle, designated as 'plant-insulin', which has been found highly beneficial in lowering the blood and urine sugar levels

Ayurveda is a complete self being system, which dominantly stresses on living a good and healthy life style that does not have any imbalance in the harmony and system of the body.Since the time immemorial the society relay on plants not only for dietic purpose but also for medicinal purpose. Also in the present scenario human being relay in 75 percent of herbal remedies. Lots of description regarding plants available from the Vedic eras to Nighantu period. As single plants having ability to cure multiple diseases that mentioned in our classcal Ayurvedic texts now need to be scientifically authentication in order to make the society believe that what had ever been written by our Acharyas are right.    To establish the same above said by taking a scientific study of Shorea robusta in order to establish its antimicrobial activity with the clue that mentioned in different classical texts.Out of three solvent used for preparation of resin (Methanol, Ethanol and Toluene), methanol extraction showed highest response in term of sensitivity (high zone inhibition), while the least sensitivity was observed with toluene extract.       Â

ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT ORGANISM: AN EMERGING PUBLIC HEALTH PROBLEM AND ROLE OF AYURVEDA (AN OVERVIEW)

Antibiotic resistance is a serious and growing phenomenon in contemporary medicine and has emerged as one of the pre-eminent public health concerns of the 21st century. Antibiotic resistance is a form of drug resistance whereby some (or, less commonly, all) sub-populations of a microorganism, usually a bacterial species, are able to survive after exposure to one or more antibiotics; pathogens resistant to multiple antibiotics are considered multidrug resistant (MDR) or, more colloquially, superbugs. However, the increasing prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections seen in clinical practice stems from antibiotic use both within human medicine and veterinary medicine. According to a new report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), at least 2 million people in the United States develop serious bacterial infections that are resistant to one or more types of antibiotics each year, and at least 23,000 die from the infections. Ayurveda refers that the Dosha get aggravated by exogenous or endogenous causes, which further spread in body by the using improper foods and activities. It vitiates kosthagni (Metabolic enzymes) which leads to improper digestion production of Ama (toxin) and their minute Srotas (body channels) this is called shrotodushtie (Disequilibrium in channels). When the Rasadhatu (plasma and lymph) containing Ama (toxin) and aggravated Doshas reaches the place where Kha Vaigunya (movement tendency towards empty space) has taken place, it being unable to get into the minute channels, gets obstructed, stagnates/accumulates there and gives rise to such diseases caused by exogenous causes. That is why, Ayurveda advocates enhancing the immunity against the diseases. Several plant extracts have exhibited synergistic activity against microorganisms. The Indian plants possessing significant anti-microbial activity are Neem (Azadirachta indica), Pippali (Piper longum), Guduchi stem (Tinospora cordifolia) and Amla fruit (Emblica officinalis), among others. The purpose of this paper is to outline possible ways in which certain concepts of Ayurveda can be used for finding remedy of emerging health problem The Antibiotic Resistant Organism

India is a country where different type of languages, culture & food habits are in use. There is tremendous regional diversity in their daily diets. Indian cuisine reflects a more than 5,000 year history of various groups and cultures interacting with the subcontinent, leading to diversity of flavors and regional cuisines found in modern-day India. Dietary pattern analysis is an emerging area of research. This study demonstrates the importance of elucidating the social and cultural contexts in which dietary behaviors exist, especially when considering contradictory mainstream approaches to health promotion. Most of the food items were developed by keeping the health aspect in mind and some of the foods were directly used as homemade medicine for some specific diseases as they had therapeutic value. The previous generations knew very well the medicinal value of some of the spices or other ingredients and as such made it a point to use that ingredient in some food recipe to add medicinal value in it. This made Indian cuisine rich in a wide variety and taste and also helpful for health. It also provides valuable information to develop qualitative measures for empirical assessment, develop and evaluate targeted interventions

Since the time immemorial the society always relay on plants not only for the diet  resources but also for medicinal purposes along with ecological balance, so that all the creatures of god starting from birth to death spend their life in a manner of dignity or we may say healthy and disease free life. From Vedic era there is a lot of descriptions regarding plants along with their therapeutic properties were available and gradually the same were added as the time progress till the date. As per Ancient Indian Literatures Shorea robusta is cosidered as a Holy Tree said to be the favourite of Lord Maha vishnu which is commnly known as Indian Dammer. Shorea robusta finds its use in Ayurveda, Unani and tribal systems of medicine. It has many medicinal properties, but the tree is valued mostly for its ability to stop bleeding piles and provide relief to the patient. The bark, leaves, fruit and resin of the Shorea are used in medicinal preparations. The resin is burnt as incense and the fumes thus obtained are said to have good medicinal value. Shorea ointments for skin troubles, breast enhancement and for bleeding piles are available at herbal stores. Some herbal doctors consider the Shorea a natural remedy for diabetes, nervine pain, arthritis, burns, ulcers, jaundice and skin infections. It has anti-bacterial properties too. Plant Shala is a contribution in the area of medicinal plants covering various aspects particularly relating to botanical phytochemical, pharmacological & pharmacognostical studies are very relevant & important in the national context.   Shala has been reviewed from different aspect, starting from Vedic era up to recent books on medicinal plants and entire procured information regarding its therapeutic values, synonyms, vernacular name, classification according to Ayurvedic texts, types, purification, Rasa panchaka, karma and adverse drug reaction and  treatment was compiled.Â

Swine flu is an emerging viral infection that is a present global public health problem. There are many thousand cases of swine flu can be seen around the world in the present day. Due to the nature of a respiratory virus, the transmission of this pathogenic virus is airborne transmission. Hence, the rapid spreading and difficulty in control of this infection can be expected. Ayurved believes in Nidan parivarjan and recommends the strengthening of the immunity to prevent disease like swine flu from its attack. There are no any medicines or vaccination are available now a days for prevent from swine flu. Mask is an only available option from avoiding the virus, but sometimes it fails to stop the infection and peoples are unable to wearing mask for all time. So there is a need to develop such a thing which we can carry easily with us and protecting from the infection. Many environment purification techniques (like Homa, Yagya, Dhoopana) have been mentioned in our classical texts. Several scientific studies have validated the clinical efficacy of air freshener against the viral stains. Freshener is a household product that can release the chemicals they contain into the air and inhaled by consumers. The purpose of this research is to determine the ability of herbal essential oil to be formulated as a WIN FLU- air freshener gel with fragrance of citrus oil and binder of peppermint oil. Gel formulation in the study was made from a mixture of herbal essential oil (carom seed, Eucalyptus, Basil, Ginger, Clove), sodium benzoate, peppermint and citrus essential oil in distilled water with a variety of different concentrations of herbal essential oil at 1%, 2% and 3%, then performed an evaluation form hedonic test gel with 30 panelists, evaporation of a liquid test during 4 weeks of storage. The results of this study indicate that the best gel formula is the formula A3 with an herbal essential oil concentration of 3%. Results per cent of total evaporation of liquid air freshener gel formula are respectively 59.12%, 42.32%, 21.22%

Upregulation of miR-23a∼27a∼24-2 Cluster Induces Caspase-Dependent and -Independent Apoptosis in Human Embryonic Kidney Cells

miRNAs have emerged as important players in the regulation of gene expression and their deregulation is a common feature in a variety of diseases, especially cancer. Currently, many efforts are focused on studying miRNA expression patterns, as well as miRNA target validation. Here, we show that the over expression of miR-23a∼27a∼24-2 cluster in HEK293T cells induces apoptosis by caspase-dependent as well as caspase-independent pathway as proved by the annexin assay, caspase activation, release of cytochrome-c and AIF (apoptosis inducing factor) from mitochondria. Furthermore, the over expressed cluster modulates the expression of a number of genes involved in apoptosis including FADD (Fas Associated protein with Death Domain). Bioinformatically, FADD is predicted to be the target of hsa-miR-27a and interestingly, FADD protein was found to be up regulated consistent with very less expression of hsa-miR-27a in HEK293T cells. This effect was direct, as hsa-miR-27a negatively regulated the expression of FADD 3′UTR based reporter construct. Moreover, we also showed that over expression of miR-23a∼27a∼24-2 sensitized HEK293T cells to TNF-α cytotoxicity. Taken together, our study demonstrates that enhanced TNF-α induced apoptosis in HEK293T cells by over expression of miR-23a∼27a∼24-2 cluster provides new insights in the development of novel therapeutics for cancer
