The author begins by presenting the three great steps in exegetic research on the relationship between Jesus and the Judaism of his time, defined as follows: a first perspective which would be the discontinuity between the preaching of Jesus and that of the Apostles (Reimarus), Paul being attributed with the founding of Christianity as a systemin opposition to Judaism; a second phase, being the theory of confrontation between Jesus and the Judaism of his time (Käsemann); and lastly, for several decades, there has been reinforcement of the perspective of the ‘placing of Jesus within the Judaism of his time’, an approach that has found adhesion among innumerable scholars, both Jews and Christians. Shifting from a context of opposition between Jesus and Judaism, it has now become consensual to talk of Judaism as the frame of reference for an understanding of the message of Jesus.To illustrate this perspective,Manns presents two texts fromthe NT: one alluding to the resurrection, “the stone removed from the tomb”, and the title given by Jesus to Peter, “Simon, son of John” (Jn 1,43 and 21,15-17).The author interprets these passages, by contextualising them in a long Jewish tradition, well illustrated with a great many texts drawn from Judaism: Targumim, Midrashim and other writings.O autor começa por nos apresentar as três grandes etapas da investigação exegética acerca da relação entre Jesus e o judaísmo do seu tempo, assim definidas: uma primeira perspectiva que seria de descontinuidade entre a pregação de Jesus e a dos Apóstolos (Reimarus), atribuindo-se a Paulo a fundação do cristianismo como um sistema em oposição ao judaísmo; numa segunda fase temos a teoria do confronto entre Jesus e o judaísmo do seu tempo (Käsemann); por fim, desde há décadas a esta parte, reforça-se a perspectiva da ‘inserção de Jesus no judaísmo do seu tempo’, tese que tem recebido a adesão de inúmeros estudiosos, tanto judeus como cristãos. Dum contexto de oposição entre Jesus e o judaísmo passou-se hoje a falar, de modo pacífico, do judaísmo como quadro de referência para a compreensão da mensagem de Jesus. Techniques juives dans le quatrième Evangile

The Jewish reading of Scripture permitted by recent documents from the Pontifical Bible Commission opens new perspectives for exegetes, provided they accept retranslation of the Greek text to Hebrew. Recourse to gematrias, which play with the numerical value of the letters, is frequent. Recourse to notarikon is also known and used in Jewish hermeneutics. This is what my own research has shown and once again in the present article, in both instances with an awareness that a text should always be read in its historical and cultural context.A leitura judaica da Escritura permitida pelos recentes documentos da Pontifícia Comissão Bíblica abre novas perspetivas aos exegetas, com a condição de que eles aceitem retraduzir o texto grego para o hebraico. O recurso às gematrias, que joga com o valor numérico das letras, é frequente. O recurso aos notarikon é igualmente conhecido e usado pela hermenêutica judaica. É o que temos mostrado na nossa investigação e mais uma vez neste artigo, cientes de que um texto deve ler-se sempre no seu contexto histórico e cultural

A J. Jeremias se atribui o mérito de ter colocado claramente o problema: a última ceia de Jesus desenrolou-se, sim ou não, no quadro de uma refeição pascal judaica? A resposta que se dê a esta questão é de grande relevância. A Eucaristia tem raízes judaicas ou ela traduz unicamente a novidade cristã? Este será o nosso território de indagação. Como é sabido, o ponto de vista de J. Jeremias não reuniu consenso e diferentes soluções foram sendo avançadas e, sucessivamente, relativizadas. O presente texto avança com uma nova hipótese, mostrando que a Festa da Páscoa constitui, face ao acontecimento final da vida de Jesus, o critério hermenêutico mais importante.It is to J. Jeremias that we owe the merit of having put the problem clearly: did Jesus’ Last Supper take place within the framework of the Jewish Passover meal, or did it not? The answer to this question is of the utmost relevance. Does the Eucharist have Jewish roots or does it transmit solely the new Christian message? This is the area of the present inquiry. As is widely known, the view of J. Jeremias was not consensual and different solutions have been put forward and successively placed in perspective. Here a new possibility is aired, showing that the Passover Feast, in the light of the final event in Jesus’ life, constitutes the most important hermeneutic criterion

Quelques traditions juives reprises par la communauté johannique

In the present article the author adds new elements in the sense of showing echoes of rabbinic tradition in texts originating from the Joanine community. These Jewish motifs come above all from the oral and liturgical tradition, as can be shown in the items analysed in this article: the theme of light; the liturgy of the day of Expiation (Kippourim); the traditions relating to Isaac; the theme of the “tabernacle of God among men” and the name of the covenant (ani hu). A few examples that show the importance of a ‘Jewish’ reading of the New Testament texts. The final aim is to encourage a pluralistic study of Judaism in the first century as a fundamental presupposition for a proper exegesis of the New Testament.No presente artigo o autor acrescenta novos elementos no sentido de mostrar os ecos da tradição rabínica nos textos provenientes da comunidade joanina. Tais motivos judaicos provêm sobretudo da tradição oral e litúrgica, como se mostra nos itens analisados neste artigo: o tema da luz; a liturgia do dia das Expiações (Kippourim); as tradições relativas a Isaac; o tema da “tenda de Deus entre os homens” e o nome da aliança (ani hu). Alguns exemplos que mostram a importância de uma leitura «judaica» dos textos neotestamentários. O objetivo final é o de encorajar ao estudo do judaísmo pluralista do primeiro século como pressuposto fundamental para uma adequada exegese no Novo Testamento

Il a également une portée théologique, car l'Ancien Testament est parole de Dieu en lui-même et par lui-même et il importe que le chrétien puisse entendre dans sa pureté la parole de Dieu sans exclure la richesse des traditions successives. The paper deals with the Revelation of God which occurs in the mode of the Word. The Word is considered both in its spoken and written modes. The two phenomena which are more closely related to the Revelation of the Word of God are Prophetism and Eucharist. Both phenomena are studied in the following paper according to the books of the Old Testament and some other Jewish and Rabbinical sources.El artículo medita en torno a revelación de Dios que tiene lugar en el modo de la Palabra. La Palabra es considerada en su doble acepción oral y escrita. Los dos fenómenos más claramente asociados a la revelación de la Palabra son el profetismo y la eucaristía. Éstos son abordados siguiendo los textos veterotestamentarios, así como otras fuentes judías y rabínicas.O artigo medita acerca da revelação de Deus, que tem lugar à maneira de Palavra. A Palavra é considerada em sua dupla acepção, oral e escrita. Os dois fenômenos mais claramente associados à revelação da Palavra são o profetismo e a Eucaristia.
