    Empirical Results on Interactive E-learning Using Knowledge Acquisition Based Learning

    This paper presents empirical results on the efficiency of e-Learning systems which deploy and use knowledge acquisition based method (KA-LMS) for enhancing the learning capabilities of students. A new e-Learning method, which was developed by the author, is used to measure the impact of the new method on the learning achievements of the students. The method utilizes learning management systems, which restricts the ability of a learning student to advance from one topic to the next one unless he/she has acquired a minimum set of learning outcomes and knowledge. The data is collected from relatively large class rooms, where students attend online classes using the knowledge acquisition based method, and then the same set of students go through physical face to face exams. The results show that on the average students were able to score in the physical exam similar or higher grades compared to the results obtained automatically using the e-Learning KA-LMS. The effectiveness of KA-LMS was shown to be effective during the Covid-19 lockdown

    A Statistical Learning Approach to Evidence the Acoustic Miracles in the Holy Quran Using Audio Features

    This paper presents a novel approach for exploring the intrinsic acoustic properties of the Holy Quran, in an attempt to provide yet one more evidence of the miraculous nature of the Quran. The study uses a dataset composed of recitations made by seven prominent reciters and three chapters of the Quran. A novel statistical approach is used to detect the correlation between the recitations of the reciters for three different Chapters (Quranic Surah). The study utilizes the Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) feature to detect certain common patterns among the recitations. The main measurement indexes used in this study are the correlation and the Euclidian Distance (ED) between the mean of the MFCCs Cepstral Coefficients, and deltadelta MFCCs. The study reveals a strong correlation and short distance between all recitations for one verse at a time, and relatively high correlation and short distance for two or more verses. Furthermore, the study lays down a foundation to detect and formulate acoustic clusters for sequential verses in the Holy Quran

    E-learning adoption during COVID-19 crisis and its effect on achieving students’ performance: Evidence from business collages – Jordanian universities

    This study aimed to know the effect of E-Learning with all its components on students’ performance at Business Colleges-Jordanian Universities during at COVID-19 crisis. To achieve study goals, a questionnaire was distributed to the students at Jordanian Universities, (870) valid questionnaires were recovered. The study found that: The level of E-Learning and its components at Jordanian Universities were at middle rates, students’ performance also comes at a moderate level. E-Learning and its components (Technological facilities readiness, Electronic applications readiness, Databases & E-resources readiness, People readiness, E-Learning management system readiness, Evaluation system readiness, teaching methods diversity, Educational curricula and electronic content readiness) have a significant effect on students’ performance at Jordanian Universities at significance (α ≤ 0.05). Whereas sub components of (E-Learning organizational environment readiness and legislations and regulations readiness) have no effect separately on students’ performance. The study recommended Jordanian Universities to improve E-Learning in all its components in the Universities, reinforce using E-Learning in education, and exploit the benefits of E-Learning to improve students’ performance because it is the main alternative to face emerging crises like CoronavirusPeer Reviewe

    A Light Sterile Neutrino in the TopFlavor Model

    A scenario based on the TopFlavor model is presented to explain the origin of a light sterile neutrino as indicated by all combined neutrino oscillation experiments. The model is phenomenologically well motivated and compatible with all available low-energy data. The derived nuetrino mass matrix can qualitatively explain the observed hierarchy in the neutrino mass splittings as indicated by the neutrino oscillation data.     Internet of Things Based Monitoring System of Leaks in Water Supply Networks Using Pressure-Based Model

    Leaks in water distribution networks impose several impacts on economy, freshwater resources, water quality, health and safety. Fast leak detection and reparation is a key for lowering its negative impacts and associated costs with conventional detection techniques. This study has been used a pressure-based model to detect leaks events and its coordinates based on pressure and flow measurements. Pressure and flow data for systems that having leaks in their structure were analyzed and compared with data generated from non-leaking systems using EPANET software packages. An extension package of EPANET software (EpanetWaterGen) has been used as it has the advantage of its ability to better simulate leaks. The results show the ability of the model to detect leaks in a small and large water distribution networks with uncertainty level associated with low pressure change. The developed leak detection model utilizes pressure and flow sensors and enables the network managers and administrators to optimally place the sensors in a manner to increase efficiency and optimize cost. The system allows operators to detect leak location and volume of lost water, thus enabling a better and more efficient response to leaks, such that the network managers can address and respond to most urgent leaks and optimize the time end efforts of technical and maintenance personnel

    Availability Modeling and Analysis Based on Repair Policy for Selector Distribution Unit (SDU) Platform

    This paper presents the impact of repair policies on the availability of a selector distribution unit (SDU) in a telecommunication system. Three repair policies are analyzed, One-Shot Repair Policy, Sequential Repair Policy, and Simultaneous Repair Policy. The availability of the SDU unit is measured using each of the investigated repair policies. Failure rates and average availability are used as primary performance indexes. The results show that the impact of repair policy is minimal when the number of faults is relatively low. When the number of faults to be repaired is relatively large, the on-site simultaneous repair policy outperforms the other policies. The results were obtained using fault MEADEP reliability and availability analysis tool. The data used for measuring the performance of the repair policies are obtained from environment and practical numbers. The investigated SDU has availability budget of 0.99999933, which is required to achieve a 5 NINES availability for the entire telecom network

    CP Violation and Family Mixing in the Effective Electroweak Lagrangian

    We construct the most general effective Lagrangian of the matter sector of the Standard Model, including mixing and CP violating terms. The Lagrangian contains the effective operators that give the leading contribution in theories where the physics beyond the Standard Model shows at a scale Λ>>MW\Lambda >>M_{W}. We perform the diagonalization and passage to the physical basis in full generality. We determine the contribution to the different observables and discuss the possible new sources of CP violation, the idea being to be able to gain some knowledge about new physics beyond the Standard Model from general considerations, without having to compute model by model. The values of the coefficients of the effective Lagrangian in some theories, including the Standard Model, are presented and we try to draw some general conclusions about the general pattern exhibited by physics beyond the Standard Model in what concerns CP violation. In the process we have had to deal with two theoretical problems which are very interesting in their own: the renormalization of the CKM matrix elements and the wave function renormalization in the on-shell scheme when mixing is present.Comment: A misplaced sentence was correcte
