Production of (τ+τ−)b(\tau^+\tau^-)_b in electron positron collisions

(τ+τ−)b(\tau^+\tau^-)_b is an atom of simple hydrogenlike structure similar to positronium (e+e−)b(e^+e^-)_b and (μ+μ−)b(\mu^+\mu^-)_b. In this paper energy levels and decay widths of different decay channels of (τ+τ−)b(\tau^+\tau^-)_b are given. Cross section of production of this atomic system in e+e−e^+e^- annihilation taking into account radiative corrections is calculated. According to our estimates 886 (τ+τ−)b(\tau^+\tau^-)_b atoms may be produced at BEPCII and 29 (τ+τ−)b(\tau^+\tau^-)_b atoms are produced at VEPP-4M under the present experimental conditions.Comment: 5 pages, submitted to Int. Extremal primes for elliptic curves without complex multiplication

    Get PDF
Fix an elliptic curve E over Q. An extremal prime for E is a prime p of good reduction such that the number of rational points on E modulo p is maximal or minimal in relation to the Hasse bound. Assuming that all the symmetric power L-functions associated to E are automorphic and satisfy the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis, we give the first non-trivial upper bounds for the number of such primes when E is a curve without complex multiplication. In order to obtain this bound, we use explicit equidistribution for the Sato-Tate measure as in the work of Rouse and Thorner (arXiv:1305.5283) and refine certain intermediate estimates taking advantage of the fact that extremal primes have a very small Sato-Tate measure

Abelian 2-form gauge theory: superfield formalism

We derive the off-shell nilpotent Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin (BRST) and anti-BRST symmetry transformations for {\it all} the fields of a free Abelian 2-form gauge theory by exploiting the geometrical superfield approach to BRST formalism. The above four (3 + 1)-dimensional (4D) theory is considered on a (4, 2)-dimensional supermanifold parameterized by the four even spacetime variables x^\mu (with \mu = 0, 1, 2, 3) and a pair of odd Grassmannian variables \theta and \bar\theta (with \theta^2 = \bar\theta^2 = 0, \theta \bar\theta + \bar\theta \theta = 0). One of the salient features of our present investigation is that the above nilpotent (anti-)BRST symmetry transformations turn out to be absolutely anticommuting due to the presence of a Curci-Ferrari (CF) type of restriction. The latter condition emerges due to the application of our present superfield formalism. The actual CF condition, as is well-known, is the hallmark of a 4D non-Abelian 1-form gauge theory. We demonstrate that our present 4D Abelian 2-form gauge theory imbibes some of the key signatures of the 4D non-Abelian 1-form gauge theory. We briefly comment on the generalization of our supperfield approach to the case of Abelian 3-form gauge theory in four (3 + 1)-dimensions of spacetime.Comment: LaTeX file, 23 pages, journal versio

Equidistribution of p alpha p theta with a Chebotarev condition and applications to

    Get PDF
We establish a joint distribution result concerning the fractional part of αpθ\alpha p^\theta for θ∈(0,1), α>0\theta \in (0,1), \ \alpha>0, where pp is a prime satisfying a Chebotarev condition in a fixed finite Galois extension over Q\mathbb{Q}. As an application, for a fixed non-CM elliptic curve E/QE/\mathbb{Q}, an asymptotic formula is given for the number of primes at the extremes of the Sato-Tate measure modulo a large prime ℓ\ell. These are precisely the primes pp for which the Frobenius trace ap(E)a_p(E) satisfies the congruence ap(E)≡[2p] mod ℓa_p(E)\equiv [2\sqrt{p}] \bmod \ell. We assume a zero-free region hypothesis for Dedekind zeta functions of number fields

Geometrical Aspects Of BRST Cohomology In Augmented Superfield Formalism

In the framework of augmented superfield approach, we provide the geometrical origin and interpretation for the nilpotent (anti-)BRST charges, (anti-)co-BRST charges and a non-nilpotent bosonic charge. Together, these local and conserved charges turn out to be responsible for a clear and cogent definition of the Hodge decomposition theorem in the quantum Hilbert space of states. The above charges owe their origin to the de Rham cohomological operators of differential geometry which are found to be at the heart of some of the key concepts associated with the interacting gauge theories. For our present review, we choose the two (1+1)(1 + 1)-dimensional (2D) quantum electrodynamics (QED) as a prototype field theoretical model to derive all the nilpotent symmetries for all the fields present in this interacting gauge theory in the framework of augmented superfield formulation and show that this theory is a {\it unique} example of an interacting gauge theory which provides a tractable field theoretical model for the Hodge theory.Comment: LaTeX file, 25 pages, Ref. Harmful Gases Profiling in Meru Menora Tunnel using SICK Sensor

    Get PDF
This paper discusses the study on the measured harmful gases due to traffic emission in the Meru Menora Tunnel, a Malaysia highway tunnel. The hazardous gasses data would help in promoting essential ventilation system inside the tunnel for the health and safety of the users. The emission gasses concentration reading is divided into two main components comprise of Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), and Carbon Monoxide (CO). Other than that, the visibility also been measured by using SICK sensor. The measurement has been done during normal, festive and school holiday seasons. Festive season shows the highest number of traffic and thus giving the worst air quality. Ventilation fan system can be activated based on the concentration level of gases and visibility in the tunnel

Nilpotent Symmetries For Matter Fields In Non-Abelian Gauge Theory: Augmented Superfield Formalism

In the framework of superfield approach to Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin (BRST) formalism, the derivation of the (anti-)BRST nilpotent symmetries for the matter fields, present in any arbitrary interacting gauge theory, has been a long-standing problem. In our present investigation, the local, covariant, continuous and off-shell nilpotent (anti-)BRST symmetry transformations for the Dirac fields (ψ,ψˉ)(\psi, \bar\psi) are derived in the framework of the augmented superfield formulation where the four (3+1)(3 + 1)-dimensional (4D) interacting non-Abelian gauge theory is considered on the six (4+2)(4 + 2)-dimensional supermanifold parametrized by the four even spacetime coordinates xμx^\mu and a couple of odd elements (θ\theta and θˉ\bar\theta) of the Grassmann algebra. The requirement of the invariance of the matter (super)currents and the horizontality condition on the (super)manifolds leads to the derivation of the nilpotent symmetries for the matter fields as well as the gauge- and the (anti-)ghost fields of the theory in the general scheme of the augmented superfield formalism.Comment: LaTeX file, 16 pages, printing mistakes in the second paragraph of `Introduction' corrected, a footnote added, these modifications submitted as ``erratum'' to IJMPA in the final for

Cohomological aspects of Abelian gauge theory

We discuss some aspects of cohomological properties of a two-dimensional free Abelian gauge theory in the framework of BRST formalism. We derive the conserved and nilpotent BRST- and co-BRST charges and express the Hodge decomposition theorem in terms of these charges and a conserved bosonic charge corresponding to the Laplacian operator. It is because of the topological nature of free U(1) gauge theory that the Laplacian operator goes to zero when equations of motion are exploited. We derive two sets of topological invariants which are related to each-other by a certain kind of duality transformation and express the Lagrangian density of this theory as the sum of terms that are BRST- and co-BRST invariants. Mathematically, this theory captures together some of the key features of Witten- and Schwarz type of topological field theories.Comment: 12 pages, LaTeX, no figures, Title and text have been slightly changed, Journal reference is given and a reference has been adde
