Memahami Dinamika Kegiatan Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Desa di Negara Berkembang: Studi Kasus di Pulau Jawa, Indonesia

    Get PDF
Indonesia as a country with very diverse regional typologies needs to pay attention to the effect of typological differences on the relationship between village administration human resources, village economic activities, and village development. This study examines the relationship between village administration human resources and village economic activities with village development in five provinces located on the island of Java, namely Banten, Special Region of Yogyakarta, West Java, Central Java, and East Java. Using the 2019 Village Potential Data (PODES), a descriptive statistical analysis was carried out for around twenty-two thousand recorded villages. In general, this study shows that in terms of IDM status, East Java province has the highest success in village development as indicated by the highest number of independent villages and developed villages compared to other provinces. Several other core variables, such as village administration human resources, village economic activities, and village development have unique performances in each of the analyzed provinces

PERANCANGAN ALAT INDIKATOR TEGANGAN PADA SISTEM PENGISIAN SEPEDA MOTOR

    Get PDF

The aim of this research is to determine the progress of minimum wage policy inIndonesia, and their linkage to the 1945 Constitution article 27 act 2. The implemen-tation of minimum wage policy in accordance with that constitution, at least shouldbe a few things to do. This includes needs such as decent living as a component ofminimum wage determination. Furthermore, it needs to fill the necessity of transpar-ent effort and intense socialization of benefit provision in the minimum wage. Inaddition it must be clear about the protected status of workers in minimum wagepolicy. The last is the enforcement and strict penalties for companies that do not applythe appropriate minimum wage policy

Efficiency and Competition in Banking Industry: Case for ASEAN-5 Countries

    Get PDF
This paper analyzes the level of the efficiency and competition (market structure) of ASEAN-5 banking industry from 2005 until 2016. Two methods were employed, i.e. Stochastic Frontier Analysis and Adjusted Lerner Index. The former is utilized to measure the bank efficiency in ASEAN-5 countries and the latter is applied to measure the bank competition (market structure) in ASEAN-5 banking industry. In order to connect the efficiency and competition level of ASEAN-5 banking industry, this study also utilizes quadrant analysis based on three different periods, namely the period before the global crisis (2005-2008), the period after global crisis (2009-2015), and the period after the establishment of ASEAN Economic Community –AEC- (2016). The results reveal that on average, the efficiency and the competition level of banks in ASEAN-5 countries are found to be relatively high. The competition in ASEAN-5 banking industry could be classified as monopolistic where each bank competes by diversifying their products or segments.JEL Codes - D24; D40; G2

Analisa Tegangan pada Expansion Joint Sistem Perpipaan Diesel Fuel Tank

    Get PDF
Expansion joints installed on 30-inch pipelines that flow crude oil fluid, suffered damage caused by the high value of the bellows stress in the design conditions, resulting in over stress and over pressure on the expansion joint bellows. Stress analysis and static loading on the pipeline along with expansion joint bellows components are needed to determine the value of the internal pressure and stresses that occur. Static analysis using CAESAR II software includes stress analysis, pipe loading and pipe flexibility according to ASME B31.3 standard. While the bellows stress analysis refers to the EJMA standard. The results of static stress analysis are still within safe limits, but in a failure condition, the load received by the expansion joint is 55528 lb, exceeding the value of expansion joint pressure thrust. The amount of load received by the expansion joint, resulting in an internal pressure value of 75,175 psi exceeds the design limit, so that over pressure occurs in the expansion joint and surrounding pipelines. In addition, the value of the stress that occurs in the expansion joint bellows of 29372.601 psi, exceeds the permit limit of material stress according to EJMA standards, resulting in over stress on the bellows

Compositional Effect and Distance Sensitivity: Examining the Distance Elasticity in China and Indonesia Trade Activities

    Get PDF
This paper analyzes the change in distance elasticity of trade using bilateral trade data among China and Indonesia and their main trading partners. The empirical method used in this study derived from the gravity model that considers the effect of distance on trade activities behavior. Two causes of change in the elasticity of trade to distance will be exposed, i.e., the distance sensitivity effect (within industries) and the compositional effect (among industries). Specifically, this study would like to prove whether the distance sensitivity effect is more dominant than the compositional effect in explaining the change in distance elasticity of trade. By using four sub-periods and around two hundred industries involved, the result shows that the increase in the role of distance in trade heavily caused by the escalation of distance sensitivity effect in most industries

The Mundell-Fleming Trilemma Combination on Middle-Income Countries

The Mundell-Fleming trilemma hypothesis stated that a country could not simultaneously achieve exchange rate stability, financial integration, and monetary independence. The fixed exchange rate policy, free capital mobility, and monetary independence are trade-offs and impossible to run simultaneously. This research aims to identify the combination of the Mundell-Fleming trilemma formed in middle-income countries. Using the panel ARDL model, we found that the Mundell-Fleming trilemma tends to converge in the short run. While on the long run, middle-income countries tend to choose monetary independence and financial integration, resulting in a less stable exchange rate, as mentioned in the hypothesi
