    The value of bali's local wisdom on hotel employees in badung regency

    The island of Bali is famous as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Thus, the development of Bali tourism from year to year is strongly influenced by various factors. Culture becomes an important factor for tourists choosing Bali as their preferred tourist destination. In order to support the tourism, the human resource also becoming the significant aspect that need to be taken into account. Given the importance of the role of human resources in the tourism sector, especially in the hospitality subsector, this study analyzed the value of Bali's local wisdom among star hotels in Badung regency. this study also wanted to find out how the phenomenon of local wisdom value in Bali, especially in Badung regency. Identification of the value of local Balinese wisdom is expected to gain contribution of ideas and thought in human resource development to the hospitality sub-sector in Bali in general, and Badung Regency in particular. Through literature studies and questionnaire consisted of  34 questions to measure the six cultural dimension such as Power Distance, Individualism vs. Collectivity, Masculinity vs. Femininity, Uncertainty Avoidance, Long-term orientation vs. Short-term orientation, and Indulgence vs. Restraint, the data then analysed through the VSM (value survey module) developed. The results shows that Badung regency’s star hotels’ employees have a culture with a high level of collectivism, shows a low power distance value, tend to have Feminine culture, have a culture with a relatively low level of Uncertainty Avoidanc

    Construction of Kedisan Pier to Increase Tourist Visits and Water Quality in Lake Batur, Bali

    Kedisan Pier gives a new feel of traveling in Batur, with a concept like a pier in South Korea, but also provides views of Lake Batur and Mount Batur simultaneously. Tourists not only visit restaurants, hot springs, hikes, and stay overnight but can also visit the Kedisan Pier Area. The increase in tourist visits influences the condition of water quality in Lake Batur. This study aims to determine the influence of the construction of Kedisan Pier on tourist visits and the quality of Lake Batur water. This study used a purposive sampling method; sampling was carried out at three points representing settlements and agriculture, water bodies/middle of lakes, and dock. The samples were tested for pH and temperature in the field and COD parameters in the laboratory. Furthermore, these three parameters are compared with Class 1 lake water quality standards in Government Regulation 22 of 2021. Based on the results, it is known that the pH and COD in the three locations exceed the class 1 water quality standard, which is 10 mg / L. pH in the range of 9.2 – 9.5. Increased COD concentration compared to the quality standard at point 1 by 127%; Point 2 is 82%, and Point 3 is 144%. Domestic activities cause the high pH and COD values at these three points—the highest COD value in the Kedisan Pier area. The construction of Kedisan Pier impacts the increasing number of tourists but also causes a decrease in Lake Batur's water quality. Based on this, human awareness is needed to increase tourism while maintaining the quality of waters for the future benefit of humans, flora, and fauna. In addition, further research needs to be carried out using other microbiological and chemical parameters to see the quality of Lake Batur waters

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa kepuasan tamu di Harris Hotel terhadap kualitas pelayanan yang diterapkan oleh pihak Front Office serta untuk mengetahui tingkat pelayanan yang sudah diberikan kepada konsumen. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dengan melakukan dokumentasi dan juga penyebaran kuisioner dengan 20 butir pertanyaan kepada 40 orang responden yaitu tamu yang menginap di Harris Hotel Denpasar dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah non probability sampling (accidental sampling). Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket berdasarkan Skala Likert yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Uji T yang berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh adanya penguatan variabel tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy yang terkait sangat erat dengan kepuasan pelayanan di kantor depan Harris Denpasar, sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lai

    This research is motivated by the gap in the front office department team in carrying out their duties. The reality of complaints from guests due to the check-in and check-out process taking too long, as well as unfulfilled guest requests for previously booked rooms, does not seem to be in accordance with management's expectations. The purpose of this study was to analyze the workload of the receptionist/GSA, bellboy/BSA, telephone operator, and guest relation officer (GRO) at The Haven Seminyak Bali. The research conducted at The Haven Seminyak Bali used quantitative analysis techniques (descriptive statistics), consisting of workload analysis and workforce needs analysis. In obtaining data to support this research, interview techniques, questionnaire techniques, and documentation were used. The results of the study showed that the number of employees was insufficient to carry out the workload so that there was a shortage of employees in that section. As a result, when conditions are busy, severe conditions that are not ideal for working occur

    Penguatan Keterampilan Berbasis Industri Perhotelan melalui Program Holistic pada Masyarakat Lulusan SMA/SMK di Provinsi Bali

    Keterampilan (skill) dalam industri perhotelan sangat diperlukan bagi seseorang untuk memenuhi tuntutan kerja di dunia industri. Para lulusan SMA/K yang telah mengikuti pelatihan di LPK memerlukan suatu pendalaman keterampilan dunia industri perhotelan sebelum mereka benar-benar terjun langsung ke industri. Salah satu kegiatan untuk memperdalam keterampilan tersebut adalah melalui pelaksanaan on the job training. Namun adanya pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan banyak hotel yang tidak membuka kesempatan bagi LPK untuk melaksanakan on the job training. Hal inilah yang membuat Institut Pariwisata dan Bisnis Internasional bekerjasama dengan IHGMA membuat program HOLISTIC yang bertujuan untuk membantu para lulusan SMA/K mendapatkan pengalaman OJT di industri perhotelan. Para peserta pelatihan diambil dari 3 wilayah di Provinsi Bali yang memiliki daerah wisata favorit, yaitu Ubud, Legian, dan Seminyak. Dengan total pelaksanaan pelatihan adalah 13 hari, peserta pelatihan mendapat pengalaman teori dan praktik langsung dari para praktisi perhotelan baik dari departemen tata hidang (food and beverage service), tata boga (food production), bartender, dan tata graha (housekeeping). Hasil dari pelatihan ini, para peserta mendapatkan pengalaman langsung di industri, selain juga berbagai pengetahuan mengenai profesionalisme kerja di industri perhotelan, peluang karir di dunia industri perhotelan, serta motivasi dan dukungan dari praktisi hotel sehingga para peserta memiliki optimisme yang besar bahwa sektor pariwisata masih menjadi sektor yang menjanjikan kedepannya

    The Role Of Tourism Enterprises In The Application Of Bali Cultural Values In Hotels In Badung

    This research on tourism human resources is entitled The role of tourism business in the application of Balinese cultural values to hotels in Badung. Badung Regency was chosen as the research location with several considerations: 1) Badung is the district with the fastest tourism growth in Bali, 2) The growth in the number of hotels in this area is followed by a growth in the number of hotel employees, 3) The culture of hotel employees in Badung Regency needs to be maintained.  Considered that the province of Bali relies on the tourism sector for its main regional income, this research is important because the application of local wisdom to tourism human resources is an important component in a service. This study produces information about the role of tourism/hotel business actors in the application of local wisdom values in hotels in Badung Regency. This research includes descriptive research by utilizing a qualitative approach. In this study, the authors explore data and information about the role of the tourism industry in implementing local cultural values in running their business. The stages carried out in this study 1) Identify Balinese cultural values applied by tourism actors (hotel employees) in Badung, 2) identify the role of tourism business people in the application of local culture as a strategy to increase the superior value of tourism business services
