    Limit theorems for a general stochastic rumour model

    We study a general stochastic rumour model in which an ignorant individual has a certain probability of becoming a stifler immediately upon hearing the rumour. We refer to this special kind of stifler as an uninterested individual. Our model also includes distinct rates for meetings between two spreaders in which both become stiflers or only one does, so that particular cases are the classical Daley-Kendall and Maki-Thompson models. We prove a Law of Large Numbers and a Central Limit Theorem for the proportions of those who ultimately remain ignorant and those who have heard the rumour but become uninterested in it.Comment: 13 pages, to appear in SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematic

    [Resumen] Uno de los grandes dilemas en el que se encuentra la comunidad educativa es el apostar por libros de texto electrónicos (conocido también como eTextBook) en detrimento de los libros de texto impresos, en Galicia se ha optado en algunos centros ir introduciendo paulatinamente el libro de texto electrónico en las aulas de 5º Educación Primaria.En este artículo se concretan las características que definen el libro de texto electrónico y que le hacen resultar atractivo y útil a la comunidad educativa. En primer lugar, se define el libro digital y concretan sus características y los problemas e inconvenientes que nos podemos encontrar con su uso. En segundo lugar, se señala en qué consiste el E-Dixgal y cómo afecta a la introducción de dicho proyecto en el aula. El hecho de que la didáctica contemple la acepción de ser el arte de enseñar todos a todos, se presta a que utilicemos medios para hacer manejable el acto didáctico. Desde el mural o la pintura, pasando por los medios audiovisuales y, actualmente, las nuevas tecnologías e Internet... son mecanismos para estimular el aprendizaje, para que el alumno disfrute formándose. Como sabemos Internet tiene múltiples aplicaciones pero quizás una de las más importantes y de las que más necesitan de ser estudiadas es sobre la aplicación educativa que este recurso tecnológico nos puede aportar.     The ‘Urbanforest’ and ‘Green space’ Classification Model in the Spatial Arrangement of Registro-SP, Brazil

    The necessity of handling green areas relating to urban settings has become one of the vital environmental challenges in view of several accumulated environmental problems in the last few decades. In United States and Canada, many investments are being made for new techniques and instruments that are needed in environmental planning involving urban forest researches both in the local and national scale. However, there are few reports on urban forest classification connecting spatial characteristics, physical structures involving pattern and process. With the objective to classify urban green areas for integrated approach, this research have focused on urban pattern for an effective understanding of urban forest concept, green areas and urban vegetation types. The urban morphology in consistency with the urban forest Focus Chat (FC) recently designed has been applied to characterize spatial categories of urban vegetation involved in the urban arrangement of Registro-SP. Method has integrated zones, patterns and processes for technical analyses to contemplate the urban dynamics, occupation and land use. Categories of urban forest and vegetation types were derived for the urban planning and system management. The resulting pattern can be technically monitored in the use of suitable GIS (Geographical Information System) software for physical and environmental records.

    [Resumen] A lo largo del proceso de crianza y educación se forman relaciones interpersonales basadas en un compromiso y una implicación emocional entre padres e hijos que van creando y dando forma al clima afectivo y emocional de la familia. Junto a ellas, existen otras relaciones que se ven moduladas por la misión educativa de los padres de socializar a los hijos en las normas y valores del entorno cultural próximo. Las relaciones interpersonales y el flujo permanente de afectos y emociones ligadas a las otras personas, con las que el individuo vive, le proporcionan la tonalidad afectiva y la impronta moral que, en el fragor del devenir de la vida cotidiana, se convierten en parte de su propia personalidad. Son necesarias tres grandes condiciones para establecer relaciones personales satisfactorias: seguridad emocional, apoyo social e intimidad corporal. La educación afectiva pretende ayudar a que niños y adolescentes resuelvan estas necesidades en el marco de un desarrollo afectivo y sexual equilibrado, en el que la autoestima, el control interno, las habilidades sociales e interpersonales y la responsabilidad compartida adquieren una especial importancia. El ser humano tiene necesidades sociales, afectivas y sexuales que son propias de la especie. En la infancia y la adolescencia estas necesidades se ponen de manifiesto de forma especialmente evidente[Abstract] Along the process of upbringing and education they are formed interpersonal relationships based on a commitment and an emotional implication among parents and children that go creating and giving form to the affective and emotional climate ofthe family. Next to them, they exist other relationships that they are modulated by the educational mission of the parents of socializing the children in the norms and values of the next cultural environment. The interpersonal relationships and the permanent flow of affections and bound emotions to other people, with those that the individual lives, they provide him the affective tonality and the moral impronta that, in the peal of becoming of the daily life, they become partly of his own personality. They are necessary three big conditions to establish satisfactory personal relationships: emotional security, 1 support social and corporal intimacy. The affective education seeks to help to that children and adolescents solve these necessities in the mark of a balanced affective and sexual development, in the one that the self-esteem, the internal control, the social and interpersonal abilities and the shared responsibility acquire a special importance.     Usage, appropriation and access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are priorities in countries involved in development processes. This research shows the effort made in Cuba (Guáimaro, Camagüey Province), to help professionals in their scientific and educational training to make them more efficient, specifically in the health area. For this purpose, we developed a needs diagnosis and a proposal on digital information basic contents involved in the process of solving practical problems in information management activities in the health sector. The diagnosis identified initial knowledge needs (text and data processing and presentations creation), and some issues related to web pages, Moodle platform, bibliographic management, e-mail and browsing along with search and meta-search engines for knowledge generation and spread. As a complement to the diagnosis development, the research was supplemented with the results assessment via qualitative research techniques involving experts from Health and ICT areas
