On the infrared behaviour of 3d Chern-Simons theories in N=2 superspace
We discuss the problem of infrared divergences in the N=2 superspace approach
to classically marginal three-dimensional Chern-Simons-matter theories.
Considering the specific case of ABJM theory, we describe the origin of such
divergences and offer a prescription to eliminate them by introducing
non-trivial gauge-fixing terms in the action. We also comment on the extension
of our procedure to higher loop order and to general three-dimensional
Chern-Simons-matter models.Comment: 26 pages, 6 figures, JHEP3; v2: minor corrections and references

Light MSSM Higgs boson mass to three-loop accuracy
The light CP even Higgs boson mass, Mh, is calculated to three-loop accuracy
within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). The result is
expressed in terms of DRbar parameters and implemented in the computer program
H3m. The calculation is based on the proper approximations and their
combination in various regions of the parameter space. The three-loop effects
to Mh are typically of the order of a few hundred MeV and opposite in sign to
the two-loop corrections. The remaining theory uncertainty due to higher order
perturbative corrections is estimated to be less than 1 GeV.Comment: 39 pages, 13 figures. v2: minor changes, typos fixe
Mellin Amplitudes for Dual Conformal Integrals
Motivated by recent work on the utility of Mellin space for representing
conformal correlators in /CFT, we study its suitability for representing
dual conformal integrals of the type which appear in perturbative scattering
amplitudes in super-Yang-Mills theory. We discuss Feynman-like rules for
writing Mellin amplitudes for a large class of integrals in any dimension, and
find explicit representations for several familiar toy integrals. However we
show that the power of Mellin space is that it provides simple representations
even for fully massive integrals, which except for the single case of the
4-mass box have not yet been computed by any available technology. Mellin space
is also useful for exhibiting differential relations between various multi-loop
integrals, and we show that certain higher-loop integrals may be written as
integral operators acting on the fully massive scalar -gon in
dimensions, whose Mellin amplitude is exactly 1. Our chief example is a very
simple formula expressing the 6-mass double box as a single integral of the
6-mass scalar hexagon in 6 dimensions.Comment: 29+7 page
NLO QCD bottom corrections to Higgs boson production in the MSSM
We present a calculation of the two-loop bottom-sbottom-gluino contributions
to Higgs boson production via gluon fusion in the MSSM. The calculation is
based on an asymptotic expansion in the masses of the supersymmetric particles,
which are assumed to be much heavier than the bottom quark and the Higgs
bosons. We obtain explicit analytic results that allow for a straightforward
identification of the dominant contributions in the NLO bottom corrections. We
emphasize the interplay between the calculations of the masses and the
production cross sections of the Higgs bosons, discussing sensible choices of
renormalization scheme for the parameters in the bottom/sbottom sector.Comment: 25 pages, 4 figures. v2: references and two figures added, version

Neutrino Mass and from a Mini-Seesaw
The recently proposed "mini-seesaw mechanism" combines naturally suppressed
Dirac and Majorana masses to achieve light Standard Model neutrinos via a
low-scale seesaw. A key feature of this approach is the presence of multiple
light (order GeV) sterile-neutrinos that mix with the Standard Model. In this
work we study the bounds on these light sterile-neutrinos from processes like
\mu ---> e + \gamma, invisible Z-decays, and neutrinoless double beta-decay. We
show that viable parameter space exists and that, interestingly, key
observables can lie just below current experimental sensitivities. In
particular, a motivated region of parameter space predicts a value of BR(\mu
---> e + \gamma) within the range to be probed by MEG.Comment: 1+26 pages, 7 figures. v2 JHEP version (typo's fixed, minor change to

Evaluation of midkine and anterior gradient 2 in a multimarker panel for the detection of ovarian cancer
The aims of this study were: to characterise and compare plasma concentrations of midkine (MDK) in normal healthy women with concentrations observed in women with ovarian cancer; and to establish and compare the performance of MDK with that of anterior gradient 2 protein (AGR2) and CA125 in the development of multi-analyte classification algorithms for ovarian cancer. Median plasma concentrations of immunoreactive MDK, AGR2 and CA125 were significantly greater in the case cohort (909 pg/ml, 765 pg/ml and 502 U/ml, respectively n = 46) than in the control cohort (383 pg/ml, 188 pg/ml and 13 U/ml, respectively n = 61) (p < 0.001). The area under the receiver operator characteristic curve (AUC) for MDK and AGR2 was not significantly different (0.734 ± 0.046 and 0.784 ± 0.049, respectively, mean ± SE) but were both significantly less than the AUC for CA125 (0.934 ± 0.030, p < 0.003). When subjected to stochastic gradient boosted logistic regression modelling, the AUC of the multi-analyte panel (MDK, AGR2 and CA125, 0.988 ± 0.010) was significantly greater than that of CA125 alone (0.934 ± 0.030, p = 0.035). The sensitivity and specificity of the multi-analyte algorithm were 95.2 and 97.7%, respectively. Within the study cohort, CA125 displayed a sensitivity and specificity of 87.0 and 94.6%, respectively. The data obtained in this study confirm that both MDK and AGR2 individually display utility as biomarkers for ovarian cancer and that in a multi-analyte panel significantly improve the diagnostic utility of CA125 in symptomatic women
Azimuthal anisotropy and correlations at large transverse momenta in and Au+Au collisions at = 200 GeV
Results on high transverse momentum charged particle emission with respect to
the reaction plane are presented for Au+Au collisions at =
200 GeV. Two- and four-particle correlations results are presented as well as a
comparison of azimuthal correlations in Au+Au collisions to those in at
the same energy. Elliptic anisotropy, , is found to reach its maximum at
GeV/c, then decrease slowly and remain significant up to
-- 10 GeV/c. Stronger suppression is found in the back-to-back
high- particle correlations for particles emitted out-of-plane compared to
those emitted in-plane. The centrality dependence of at intermediate
is compared to simple models based on jet quenching.Comment: 4 figures. Published version as PRL 93, 252301 (2004
