Temporal change in species and functional plant traits in the moist grassland on the Sete Cidades National Park, Piauí, Brazil

The present study investigated the dynamic on a short-time scale in the vegetation in moist grassland of the Sete Cidades National Park, Piauí. Herb-subshrub layer samples was carried out in July 2007, 2009 and 2011. Changes in structural, floristic and functional traits in the community were assessed by species richness, diversity and similarity indices between those periods, as well as by hierarchical classification and ordination. Cluster and Principal Component Analyses identified functional groups according to 23 species trait state. To distinguish the contribution of space and time configuration in the community structure, we used the variance partition technique. The functional groups of chamaephytes and therophytes II were associated with wetter sites, while the groups of non-tussock hemicriptophytes I, tussock hemicriptophytes (FG4), and geophytes (FG5) were associated to the drier ones. We found a non-accelerated dynamics, at least on a short-time scale, represented by some descriptors in the community, such as the close similarity between the inventories and ordering of sampling transects in moist grassland. Therefore, besides considering the partition of the temporal niche as a mechanism for the co-existence of species, the heterogeneity of space dictated by environmental filters seems to determine the stability of the this grassland communities over time

Teoria interpretativa de Geertz e a gerência do cuidado: visualizando a prática social do enfermeiro Teoría interpretativa de Geertz y la gerencia del cuidado: visualizando la práctica social de los enfermeros Geertz' interpretive theory and care management: visualizing nurses' social practice

Trata-se de uma reflexão teórica sobre a gerência do cuidado de enfermagem hospitalar e a Teoria Interpretativa da Cultura de Geertz. Abordam-se alguns elementos significantes da cultura no exercício da gerência destacados a partir dos referenciais teóricos da enfermagem, da administração e da antropologia. Nesses, ressalta-se a importância da diversidade cultural como um recurso inovador para ampliar a visão da integridade humana, valorizando as divergências, o respeito, o compartilhamento, importantes para o enfermeiro na construção de sua prática social.<br>Se presenta una reflexión teórica sobre la gerencia del cuidado de la enfermería hospitalaria y la Teoría Interpretativa de la Cultura de Geertz. Son discutidos algunos elementos significativos de la cultura en la gerencia, a partir de los referenciales teóricos de la enfermería, administración y antropología. En éstos, se destaca la importancia de la diversidad cultural como un recurso innovador para ampliar la visión de la integridad humana que valora las divergencias, el respecto, el compartir, que son importantes para la enfermera en la construcción de su práctica social.<br>This paper presents a theoretical reflection on hospital nursing care management and Geertz' Interpretive Theory of Culture. We discuss some significant elements of culture in management, based on the theoretical reference frameworks of nursing, administration and anthropology. In these, the importance of cultural diversity is highlighted as an innovative resource to expand the vision of human integrity, valuing divergences, respect and sharing, which are important for nurses in the construction of their social practice

Aplicação do instrumento Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test (ASSIST): uma revisão integrativa

Objetivo: Objetivou-se sistematizar o conhecimento e a aprendizagem de como é a aplicação do instrumento Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test (ASSIST).Método: Revisão integrativa, realizada entre maio e julho do ano de 2014, nas bases de dados Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline), PubMed e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), assim como no sistema de busca do Portal de Periódicos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). Foram selecionados 26 artigos.Resultados: O ASSIST concentrou-se no auxílio da identificação e classificação do uso de substância psicoativa, tendo se revelado importante no rastreamento do envolvimento com o álcool e outras drogas, e efetivo no nível primário à saúde.Conclusão: Confirmou-se como instrumento a ser usado na Atenção à Saúde.Palavras-chave: Avaliação em saúde.
