ROSAT Detection and High Precision Localization of X-ray Sources in the November 19, 1978 Gamma-Ray Burst Error Box
We report on observations of the 1978, November 19 Gamma-Ray Burst source,
performed with the ROSAT X-ray HRI experiment. Two sources were detected, one
of which is possibly variable. The latter source is identical to the source
discovered in 1981 by the EINSTEIN satellite, and recently detected by ASCA.
The precise localization of these sources is given, and our data are compared
with optical, radio and previous X-ray data.Comment: 10 pages with 2 figures, Accepted for publication in the

Third Cumulant of the total Transmission of diffuse Waves
The probability distribution of the total transmission is studied for waves
multiple scattered from a random, static configuration of scatterers. A
theoretical study of the second and third cumulant of this distribution is
presented. Within a diagrammatic approach a theory is developed which relates
the third cumulant normalized to the average, , to the normalized second cumulant . For a broad Gaussian beam profile it is found that .
This is in good agreement with data of optical experiments.Comment: 16 pages revtex, 8 separate postscript figure
Phenomenological Issues in Supersymmetry with Non-holomorphic Soft Breaking
We present a through discussion of motivations for and phenomenological
issues in supersymmetric models with minimal matter content and non-holomorphic
soft-breaking terms. Using the unification of the gauge couplings and assuming
SUSY is broken with non-standard soft terms, we provide semi-analytic solutions
of the RGEs for low and high choices of tan\beta which can be used to study the
phenomenology in detail. We also present a generic form of RGIs in mSUGRA
framework which can be used to derive new relations in addition to those
existing in the literature. Our results are mostly presented with respect to
the conventional minimal supersymmetric model for ease of comparison.Comment: 34 page
Single transverse-spin asymmetry in Drell-Yan lepton angular distribution
We calculate a single transverse-spin asymmetry for the Drell-Yan
lepton-pair's angular distribution in perturbative QCD. At leading order in the
strong coupling constant, the asymmetry is expressed in terms of a twist-3
quark-gluon correlation function T_F^{(V)}(x_1,x_2). In our calculation, the
same result was obtained in both light-cone and covariant gauge in QCD, while
keeping explicit electromagnetic current conservation for the virtual photon
that decays into the lepton pair. We also present a numerical estimate of the
asymmetry and compare the result to an existing other prediction.Comment: 15 pages, Revtex, 5 Postscript figures, uses aps.sty, epsfig.st
A gobal fit to the anomalous magnetic moment, Higgs limit and b->s gamma in the constrained MSSM
New data on the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon together with the b->s
gamma decay rate and Higgs limits are considered within the supergravity
inspired constrained minimal supersymmetric model. We perform a global
statistical chi2 analysis of these data and show that the allowed region of
parameter space is bounded from below by the Higgs limit, which depends on the
trilinear coupling and from above by the anomalous magnetic moment.Comment: 3 pages, To appear in Proc. of SUSY01, Dubna (Russia
A gobal fit to the anomalous magnetic moment, b->s gamma and Higgs limits in the constrained MSSM
New data on the anomalous magnetic moment a_mu of the muon together with the
b->s gamma decay rate are considered within the supergravity inspired
constrained minimal supersymmetric model. We perform a global statistical chi^2
analysis of these data and show that the allowed region of parameter space is
bounded from below by the Higgs limit, which depends on the trilinear coupling
and from above by the anomalous magnetic moment a_mu. The newest b->s gamma
data deviate 1.7 sigma from recent SM calculations and prefer a similar
parameter region as the 2.6 sigma deviation from a_mu.Comment: 12 pages, 7 figs. Refs. update
