Theory of superfast fronts of impact ionization in semiconductor structures
We present an analytical theory for impact ionization fronts in reversely
biased p^{+}-n-n^{+} structures. The front propagates into a depleted n base
with a velocity that exceeds the saturated drift velocity. The front passage
generates a dense electron-hole plasma and in this way switches the structure
from low to high conductivity. For a planar front we determine the
concentration of the generated plasma, the maximum electric field, the front
width and the voltage over the n base as functions of front velocity and doping
of the n base. Theory takes into account that drift velocities and impact
ionization coefficients differ between electrons and holes, and it makes
quantitative predictions for any semiconductor material possible.Comment: 18 pagers, 10 figure
USING OF LONG ACTION ERYTHROPOES STIMULATED AGENTS FOR TREATMENT OF ANEMIA IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASES V D ST
the article describes approaches to cost optimization of anemia treatment in CKD–VDst. patients by comparison of costs in phase correction and support treatment with long action ESA in patients on HD and HDF.
Aims. To reveal the influence of HD and HDF to summary dozes of ESA in anemia treatment, to reveal the influence of different long action ESA to hemoglobin variability and find connection between HD, HDF and ESA type to cost of ESA using.
Materials and methods. There were 14 patients on HD and 14 on HDF. All patients were treated with dialysis 3 time per week, session duration was 4,5–5 hours. eKt/У were 1,39±0,06 in HDF group and 1,29±0,07 in HD group. Mean hemoglobin was 98,3±2,46 g/l in HDF group and 92,76±2,46 g/l in HD group. In correction phase we used pegylated erythropoietin–p in both groups before achievement target hemoglobin 110 g/l, then was support phase ofanemia treatment during 6 months with hemoglobin target 100g/l to 120 g/l. Next 6 months patients were switched to darbepoetin alfa.
Results. It is investigated optimization of anemia correction with long action ESP in patients on HD and HDF. It is revealed a tendency to decrease treatment cost with pegylated erythropoietin–p compared to darbepoetin alfa (1965,13±250,69 vs 2117,39±147,59 Gr/mth) and HDF group compared HD group with pegylated erythropoietin–p (1983,9±345,9 vs 1950,69±367,1 Gr/mth). Treatment with darbepoetin alfa associated with higher hemoglobin variability compared with pegylated erythropoietin–p.
Conclusion. The result of our investigation lead to prove some hope to optimization of anemia treatment in patients with CKD Vst. On hemodialysis, but to have statistically reliability we need lager patients groups

Platicon Stability in Hot Cavities
The stability of platicons in hot cavities with normal group velocity at the
interplay of Kerr and thermal nonlinearities was addressed numerically. The
stability analysis was performed for different ranges of pump amplitude,
thermal nonlinearity coefficient and thermal relaxation time. It was revealed
that for the positive thermal effect, the high-energy wide platicons are
stable, while the negative thermal coefficient provides the stability of narrow
platicons.Comment: 4 pages, 8 figure
Significance of basic clinical tests changing after the Hypec procedure in patients with gastric cancer and some other tumors
Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy is a popular method of
palliative treatment in patients with malignant abdominal tumors. This
review is devoted to trace changes in general clinical tests in patients with
carcinomatosis. The patients were operated on at the Clinic of Reconstructive
and Plastic Medicine of the Odessa National Medical University. All patients
satisfactorily tolerated this procedure. The object of the study was to track
those changes with patients that took place in the immediate (prior to
discharge) postoperative period. 25 patients have recruited to the study. In
the group changes in 11 basic clinical and laboratory parameters among those
included were monitored in the study. Hemoglobin, leukocytes, platelets,
total protein, bilirubin, serum glucose concentration, liver enzymes alanine
aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase levels, thymol test and
coagulogram indices. Thus, the most significant indicators, such as the
concentration of hemoglobin, leukocytes and platelets, have not undergone
significant changes after HIPEC. Hemoglobin decreased by 6 units (g / l), the
concentration of leukocytes, on the contrary, increased by 2 units (T/l),
platelet levels dropped by 61 units (also G/l). The concentration of total
protein decreased by 7 units. The concentration of total bilirubin practically
did not change, decreasing by about 1 unit. Indicators of AST and ALT did
not increase, decreasing by 8 and 3 units, respectively. The average
concentration value of blood glucose level slightly increased by almost 1
unit. Thymol levels have not changed. The prothrombin index decreased by 3
units; the concentration of fibrinogen in serum remained at approximately the
same level. HIPEC procedure does not significantly affect the clinical and
laboratory parameters. However, the tendency of this category of patients to
hypercoagulation, hypoproteinemia and hyperglucosemia was noted
Optimization of laser stabilization via self-injection locking to a whispering-gallery-mode microresonator: experimental study
Self-injection locking of a diode laser to a high-quality-factor
microresonator is widely used for frequency stabilization and linewidth
narrowing. We constructed several microresonator-based laser sources with
measured instantaneous linewidths of 1 Hz and used them for investigation and
implementation of the self-injection locking effect. We studied analytically
and experimentally the dependence of the stabilization coefficient on tunable
parameters such as locking phase and coupling rate. It was shown that precise
control of the locking phase allows fine tuning of the generated frequency from
the stabilized laser diode. We also showed that it is possible for such laser
sources to realize fast continuous and linear frequency modulation by injection
current tuning inside the self-injection locking regime. We conceptually
demonstrate coherent frequency-modulated continuous wave LIDAR over a distance
of 10 km using such a microresonator-stabilized laser diode in the
frequency-chirping regime and measure velocities as low as sub-micrometer per
second in the unmodulated case. These results could be of interest for
cutting-edge technology applications such as space debris monitoring and
long-range object classification, high resolution spectroscopy and others
All-sky search for periodic gravitational waves in LIGO S4 data
We report on an all-sky search with the LIGO detectors for periodic
gravitational waves in the frequency range 50-1000 Hz and with the frequency's
time derivative in the range -1.0E-8 Hz/s to zero. Data from the fourth LIGO
science run (S4) have been used in this search. Three different semi-coherent
methods of transforming and summing strain power from Short Fourier Transforms
(SFTs) of the calibrated data have been used. The first, known as "StackSlide",
averages normalized power from each SFT. A "weighted Hough" scheme is also
developed and used, and which also allows for a multi-interferometer search.
The third method, known as "PowerFlux", is a variant of the StackSlide method
in which the power is weighted before summing. In both the weighted Hough and
PowerFlux methods, the weights are chosen according to the noise and detector
antenna-pattern to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio. The respective
advantages and disadvantages of these methods are discussed. Observing no
evidence of periodic gravitational radiation, we report upper limits; we
interpret these as limits on this radiation from isolated rotating neutron
stars. The best population-based upper limit with 95% confidence on the
gravitational-wave strain amplitude, found for simulated sources distributed
isotropically across the sky and with isotropically distributed spin-axes, is
4.28E-24 (near 140 Hz). Strict upper limits are also obtained for small patches
on the sky for best-case and worst-case inclinations of the spin axes.Comment: 39 pages, 41 figures An error was found in the computation of the C
parameter defined in equation 44 which led to its overestimate by 2^(1/4).
The correct values for the multi-interferometer, H1 and L1 analyses are 9.2,
9.7, and 9.3, respectively. Figure 32 has been updated accordingly. None of
the upper limits presented in the paper were affecte
Search for gravitational waves from binary inspirals in S3 and S4 LIGO data
We report on a search for gravitational waves from the coalescence of compact
binaries during the third and fourth LIGO science runs. The search focused on
gravitational waves generated during the inspiral phase of the binary
evolution. In our analysis, we considered three categories of compact binary
systems, ordered by mass: (i) primordial black hole binaries with masses in the
range 0.35 M(sun) < m1, m2 < 1.0 M(sun), (ii) binary neutron stars with masses
in the range 1.0 M(sun) < m1, m2 < 3.0 M(sun), and (iii) binary black holes
with masses in the range 3.0 M(sun)< m1, m2 < m_(max) with the additional
constraint m1+ m2 < m_(max), where m_(max) was set to 40.0 M(sun) and 80.0
M(sun) in the third and fourth science runs, respectively. Although the
detectors could probe to distances as far as tens of Mpc, no gravitational-wave
signals were identified in the 1364 hours of data we analyzed. Assuming a
binary population with a Gaussian distribution around 0.75-0.75 M(sun), 1.4-1.4
M(sun), and 5.0-5.0 M(sun), we derived 90%-confidence upper limit rates of 4.9
yr^(-1) L10^(-1) for primordial black hole binaries, 1.2 yr^(-1) L10^(-1) for
binary neutron stars, and 0.5 yr^(-1) L10^(-1) for stellar mass binary black
holes, where L10 is 10^(10) times the blue light luminosity of the Sun.Comment: 12 pages, 11 figure
