M2 to D2 and vice versa by 3-Lie and Lie bialgebra
Using the concept of 3-Lie bialgebra, which has recently been defined in
arXiv:1604.04475, we construct Bagger-Lambert-Gustavson (BLG) model for
M2-brane on Manin triple of a special 3-Lie bialgebra. Then by using the
correspondence and relation between those 3-Lie bialgebra with Lie bialgebra,
we reduce this model to an WZW model (D2-brane), such that, its
algebraic structure is a Lie bialgebra with one 2-cocycle. In this manner by
using correspondence of 3-Lie bialgebra and Lie bialgebra (for this special
3-Lie algebra) one can construct M2-brane from a D2-brane and vice versa.Comment: 13 page
Using computational modelling to study extensional rheometry tests for inelastic fluids
The present work focuses on the extensional rheometry test, performed with the Sentmanat extensional rheometer (SER) device, and its main objectives are: (i) to establish the modelling
requirements, such as the geometry of the computational domain, initial and boundary conditions,
appropriate case setup, and (ii) to investigate the effect of self-induced errors, namely on the sample
dimensions and test temperature, on the extensional viscosity obtained through the extensional rheometry tests. The definition of the modelling setup also comprised the selection of the appropriate
mesh refinement level to model the process and the conclusion that gravity can be neglected without
affecting the numerical predictions. The subsequent study allowed us to conclude that the errors on
the sample dimensions have similar effects, originating differences on the extensional viscosity proportional to the induced variations. On the other hand, errors of a similar order of magnitude on
the test temperature promote a significant difference in the predicted extensional viscosity. This work was funded by FEDER funds through the COMPETE 2020 Program and National Funds through FCT-Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology under the projects UIDB/05256/2020/, UIDP/05256/2020, CPCA/A2/6202/2020, CPCA_A2_6231_2020, NORTE-08-5369-

THE COMPARISON OF SUICIDAL THOUGHTS, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, AND STRESS AMONG ADOLESCENT SUICIDE ATTEMPTERS ABUSING DRUG AND ADOLESCENTS WITHOUT DRUG ABUSE IN ZABOL, 2016
Addiction and drug abuse are among the issues that have been greatly adverted by the clinical psychologists and psychiatrists. Suicide attempt, like other social phenomena, is not uni-causal; a variety of factors affects this phenomenon. Thus, having an exact awareness of suicide factors and studying the importance of the factors seem necessary. The present research aims at studying suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, and stress among adolescent suicide attempters abusing drug and adolescents without any drug abuse in Zabol in 2016. The present study is a comparative descriptive-analytical one. The statistical populations of the present study were all the 18-to-29-year-old suicide attempters, with a record of drug abuse referring to Imam Ali Hospital in Zabol in 2016. The data collection tool was depression questionnaire and Beck's suicidal thoughts questionnaire. T-independent and chi-square tests were used for data analysis applying SPSS version 18. The participants' mean age was 14.12 +/- 4.13 years. The drug abusers' mean score of depression, anxiety, stress, and suicidal thoughts were 10.12 +/- 4.16, 7.26 +/- 4.48, 9.02 +/- 4.15, and 18.42 +/- 6.12 respectively. As for the comparison group they were 4.32 +/- 2.18, 4.36 +/- 4.26, 5.16 +/- 4.46, and 6.32 +/- 4.18 respectively (p=0.001). The findings obtained from the T-test for the independent groups indicate the difference in means between the two groups with respect to the degree of depression (p=0.001) and suicidal thoughts (p=0.002). The findings obtained from the present study indicated that variables such as drug abuse, depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts are closely related with suicide attempt. Given the comorbidity of drug dependence and other psychiatric disorders, providing educational interventions, executing preventive social plans, and treating psychological disorders for preventing suicide attempts are of great importance

Investigating the effect of vitamin D vaginal suppository on sexual function among postmenopausal women: study protocol for a randomized controlled trial
Background: Menopause is associated with changes in sexual function which are partly due to vaginal atrophy in response to estrogen reduction. Estrogen administration temporarily reduces the symptoms of vaginal dryness, but long-term exposure to this drug is likely to be associated with serious complications. Considering the promising results of previous studies concerning the effect of vitamin D on vaginal dryness, the proposed study will investigate the effect of vitamin D vaginal suppository on the sexual function of postmenopausal women.
Methods: In a randomized, controlled clinical trial, 105 postmenopausal women will be randomly assigned to three groups receiving vitamin D vaginal suppository, placebo vaginal suppository, or control (no intervention). Vitamin D vaginal suppositories contain 1000 units of vitamin D3. The timing of the use of vitamin D vaginal suppositories and placebo suppositories will be every night in the first 2 weeks, and every other night in the following 6 weeks (8 weeks in total). The primary outcome will be the sexual function of participants which will be assessed using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) before and immediately after the intervention, and at 1 and 2 months after the end of the intervention. The side effects of these suppositories will be examined as a secondary consequence of the study. Data will be analyzed using SPSS software version 25. In the case of normal distribution of data, the mean score of sexual function will be compared between the groups using a repeated measurements ANOVA. If statistical analysis leads to significant results, the post-hoc test will be used to determine the differences between the groups. Comparison of demographic and fertility characteristics of the women will be carried out using statistical tests such as chi-squares and t-tests. A significance level of p [less than] .05 will be used for statistical analyses.
Discussion: If vitamin D vaginal suppositories improve sexual function among premenopausal women with long-term effects and minimum side effects, the suppositories will be considered a safe complementary and alternative choice for alleviating sexual dysfunction among this group
Outcome of the “Manchester Groin Repair” (Laparoscopic Totally Extraperitoneal Approach With Fibrin Sealant Mesh Fixation) in 434 Consecutive Inguinal Hernia Repairs
Introduction: This study looks at the outcome of 352 patients that underwent the “Manchester groin repair” in the period from 2007 to 2016. The effect of laterality on chronic groin pain and the reduction of pain scores post-surgery are evaluated as well as the rate of hernia recurrence for the inguinal hernia repairs. Methods: The “Manchester groin repair” is a modification of a laparoscopic totally extra-peritoneal approach with fibrin sealant mesh fixation. Data were collected prospectively. In addition to demographic data and the European Hernia Society classification grading of each hernia, pain scores were assessed prior to surgery and at 4–6 weeks post-operatively using a ten-point visual analog pain scale. Data were collected on a bespoke database and differences between time-points analyzed by non-parametric Wilcoxon signed rank tests with Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test for three-group comparisons. Significance was at the P < 0.05 level. The study was undertaken as an institutional audit. Results: Three hundred and fifty two patients underwent TEP repair as per the “Manchester Groin Repair” modification during the period of interest with a median follow-up period of 109.5 (IQR 57.0–318.5) weeks. Of these 274 (77.8%) were for the repair of true hernias and 78 (22.2%) were for inguinal disruptions. All inguinal hernia repairs patients were evaluated (254 m, 20 f); median [interquartile range] age 50 (39–65) years. There were 75 right inguinal hernias (27.4%), 39 Left inguinal hernias (14.2%), and 160 bilateral inguinal hernias (58.4%), giving a total of 434 hernia repairs. During follow-up there were 6 recurrences (1.4%).Of the 274 patients evaluated, 145 (52.9%) had both pre and post-operative pain scores available. Median pre-operative pain score was 5 [IQR 4–7]. Median post-operative pain score was 1 [IQR 1–2]. This difference was significant (P < 0.001). Pre-operative pain scores were higher for those with a bilateral hernia (median 6 vs. 5 and 4, respectively; P = 0.005), but there was no difference in post-operative scores (P = 0.347). One patient (0.3%) presented with chronic groin pain (pain after 3 months). Conclusion: This study demonstrates that the “Manchester groin repair” provides an excellent repair with a low rate of recurrence and low incidence of chronic pain. Longer-term evaluation and larger patient series will add to the understanding of the role of this procedure in groin hernia repair
The minimum-error discrimination via Helstrom family of ensembles and Convex Optimization
Using the convex optimization method and Helstrom family of ensembles
introduced in Ref. [1], we have discussed optimal ambiguous discrimination in
qubit systems. We have analyzed the problem of the optimal discrimination of N
known quantum states and have obtained maximum success probability and optimal
measurement for N known quantum states with equiprobable prior probabilities
and equidistant from center of the Bloch ball, not all of which are on the one
half of the Bloch ball and all of the conjugate states are pure. An exact
solution has also been given for arbitrary three known quantum states. The
given examples which use our method include: 1. Diagonal N mixed states; 2. N
equiprobable states and equidistant from center of the Bloch ball which their
corresponding Bloch vectors are inclined at the equal angle from z axis; 3.
Three mirror-symmetric states; 4. States that have been prepared with equal
prior probabilities on vertices of a Platonic solid.

Comparison of Intraoperative and Early Postoperative Outcomes of Caudal Versus Dorsal Penile Nerve Blocks for Outpatient Penile Surgeries
Objective
To compare intraoperative and 1-hour postoperative outcomes in caudal versus dorsal penile nerve block (DPNB) patients undergoing penile surgeries.
Material and Methods
We performed a retrospective cohort study of males 3. Secondary outcomes were intraoperative/post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) narcotics, pre-incision anesthesia time, adjusted operating room charges and complications. We performed bivariate and multivariable analyses controlling for demographic/procedure characteristics and clustering by surgeon.
Results
Of 738 patients, (mean age 2.1 years) 74.1% had a caudal. DPNB patients were more likely to have a maximum pain score >3 (19.5% vs. 8.1%, p 3 (95% CI 1.7- 4.4, p<0.0001) and 5.2 times the odds of intraoperative/PACU narcotic administration (95% CI 3.3-8.1, p<0.0001). In multivariable analyses, caudal patients had longer pre-incision anesthesia time (27.9 ± 7.4 vs. 19.5 ± 6.6 minutes, p<0.0001) and higher adjusted operating room charges (9,402 ± 3741, p=0.01).
Conclusion
Caudal blocks may offer a small advantage in the immediate postoperative period although cost-effectiveness is unproven
