    ROLE OF CAREER GUIDANCE IN THE PREPARATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL PUPILS FOR TERTIARY EDUCATION IN LUANSHYA DISTRICT, ZAMBIA

    The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of career guidance in the preparation of secondary school pupils for tertiary education in Luanshya district, Zambia. A descriptive research design supported by qualitative and quantitative approaches were used. A total of 56 questionnaires were distributed to head teachers and career guidance teachers at 12 schools in Luanshya District. Out of which a total of 51 were returned, with 5 not being returned by head teachers amongst the twelve schools used in the study. The questionnaire contained closed and a few open-ended questions which were scaled with a Likert scale and were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The qualitative questions were analyzed thematically, emerging themes were coded and descriptively presented thereafter. Quantitative responses were analyzed through quantitative method involving coding and analyzing using charts, frequencies and percentages through a computer program referred to as Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS version 22). The study revealed that, although career guidance has a significant positive role to play in the preparation of secondary school pupils for tertiary education, findings obtained from the study have revealed that career guidance was aimed preparing secondary school pupils for tertiary education although had a number of challenges. The number of pupils currently using these services on a weekly basis was very low, and the resources needed in the provision of these services are also lacking. Nevertheless, in spite of these hurdles being faced by the career guidance departments in the schools, there have been significant improvements in preparation of students for tertiary education. These significant improvements were in terms of behaviour; reduced pregnancy rates and improved academic performance, a major positive and a stepping stone for encouraging more pupils to utilise these services and enter tertiary education. The study recommended that head teachers ensure all teachers participate in spearheading campaign and information sharing on career guidance. Collaboration among teachers, career guidance teachers and counsellor in tertiary education should take pace, in order to easily identify pupils who faced challenges. Lastly, government of Zambia through the Ministry of General Education ensure that they equip schools with the requisite resources needed in order for the career guidance departments to operate in accordance with the expectations.     Menghadapi arus globalisasi, RRI Lhokseumawe Radio Republik Indonesia sebagai industri penyiaran publik yang berkonten lokal, dituntut kepedulian dan tanggung jawab meningkatkan kearifan lokal dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan khususnya aspek budaya dan bahasa. Oleh karena itu pengelola RRI Lhokseumawe perlu memahami kearifan lokal untuk diimplementasikan dalam mengemas isi siaran. Permasalahannya adalah bagaimana peran pengelola RRI Lhokseumawe dalam mempertahankan siaran bahasa Aceh dan bagaimana hambatan pengelola dalam mempertahankan siaran bahasa Aceh tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui peran dan hambatan pengelola RRI Lhokseumawe dalam mempertahankan siaran kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif, penentuan informan dilakukan secara purposif, teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran pengelola RRI Lhokseumawe dalam mempertahankan siaran kearifan lokal diwujudkan dalam bentuk program-program siaran di RRI Lhokseumawe yang merupakan program siaran informasi/berita. Program dan bentuk siaran kearifan lokal dalam mengangkat budaya lokal, diwujudkan melalui program siaran yang disusun dan disajikan dalam suatu mataacara yang dikemas dengan menggunakan bahasa Aceh dalam peyampaiannya. Dalam proses siarannya penyiar pada RRI Lhokseumawe tidak menemukan kendala yang berarti karna penyiar menguasai bahasa Aceh yang digunakan dalam siaran Haba Beungoeh Nyoe. Hambatan yang ditemui yaitu terkait dengan narasumber yang memberikan informasi tidak dapat menggunakan bahasa Aceh selama proses wawancara berlangsung. hal ini yang menyebabkan dalam format berita yang lebih komplek tim redaksi pemberitaan tidak dapat memperdengarkan suara narasumber

    Annual Progress Report: Nebraska Reading First two year implementation

    This report outlines the results of a two year implementation of the Nebraska\u27s Reading First initiative. Over three thousand six hundred students from Kindergarten to Third grade were included in the project. Results indicated significant growth across all demographic groups. Student performance in the earlier grades has shown great promise for later years. Growth in fluency and comprehension in grades 2 and 3 were not as impressive and require additional attention. The assessment results were triangulated by observations in the classrooms, interviews, and teacher responses to professional development- teachers know how to teach Phonemic Awareness and the alphabetic principle but were still struggling with finding time and effective strategies for fluency, comprehension strategies, and self monitoring. Growing gaps for special education student, Ethnic minorities and English Learners suggest an emphasis on the secondary and tertiary levels of intervention in the schools.     HUBUNGAN ANTARA MOTIVASI DAN SUPERVISI DENGAN KINERJA PRAKTEK PERAWAT DI PUSKESMAS RANOTANA WERU KOTA MANADO.

    ABSTRAK Penilaian kinerja merupakan proses kontrol kinerja karyawan yang dievaluasi berdasarkan standar tertentu. Dengan melakukan, penilaian kinerja akan diperoleh informasi mengenai hasil yang sudah dicapai, adakah faktor-faktor yang mendukung serta hambatan yang dihadapi ketika memberikan pelayanan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk  mengetahui hubungan antara  motivasi  dan  supervisi  dengan  kinerja  praktek  perawat. Penelitian menggunakan metode survey yang bersifat analitik dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini  adalah seluruh perawat di  Puskesmas Ranotana Weru. Pengambilan data  dengan menggunakan kuesioner.  Analisis  hubungan  dengan  mengunakan  uji  Chi-square  dan  α  =  0.05.  Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perawat yang memiliki motivasi yang baik sebesar 44.1% dan kurang baik sebesar 55.9%. Perawat yang merasa supervisi berjalan dengan baik sebesar 55.9% dankurang baik sebesar 44.1%. Perawat yang memiliki kinerja yang baik sebesar 47.1% dan kurang baik sebesar 52.9%.  Terdapat hubungan antara motivasi dengan kinerja praktek perawat (p = 0.003). Terdapat hubungan antara supervisi dengan kinerja perawat (p = 0.001).   Kata Kunci : Motivasi, Supervisi, Kinerja, Perawat   ABSTRACT By doing, the performance assessment will obtain information on the results already achieved, is there any factors that  support and  obstacles encountered when  providing services. This  study  was  conducted to determine the relationship between motivation and performance practice nurse supervision. The study used a survey method analytic with cross sectional approach. The population in this study are all nurses at the health center Ranotana Weru. Collecting data using questionnaires. Analysis of the relationship by using chi- square test and α = 0:05. Results of this study showed that nurses who have a good motivation for 44.1% and amounted to 55.9% unfavorable. Nurses who are running properly supervised by 55.9% and amounted to 44.1% unfavorable. Nurses who have a good performance by 47.1% and amounted to 52.9% unfavorable. There  is  a  relationship between motivation and  performance practice  nurses  (p  =  0.042).  There  is  a relationship between supervision with the performance of nurses (p = 0.017).   Keywords: Motivation, Supervision, Performance, Nurse

    Pengembangan Media Animasi Berbasis Ketuhanan Dan Cinta Lingkungan Pada Materi Sifat Larutan

    This research aimed to develop animation media about the solvent based on the value of divinity and environmental awareness material. This research method was Research and Development, which consists of three steps: 1) preliminary studies, 2) product development and 3) describe the responses of the teachers and students towards the product. From the teachers responses, the developed animation media has very high content suitability aspect that is 92,20%. From the students responses, the developed animation media has very high readability and interested of the design aspect that is 80,25%. From the responses obtained, so it can be concluded that the developed animation media has very well criteria. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media animasi materi sifat larutan berbasis nilai ketuhanan dan kecintaan terhadap lingkungan. Metode penelitian ini adalah Penelitian dan Pengembangan, yang terdiri dari tiga tahap: 1) studi pendahuluan, 2) pengembangan produk dan 3) mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap produk. Tanggapan guru, media animasi yang dikembangkan memiliki aspek kesesuaian isi yang sangat tinggi yaitu 80,25%. Dari tanggapan yang diperoleh, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media animasi yang dikembangkan ini memiliki kriteria sangat baik.                                                                                                   Â

    Perbandingan Hasil Belajar Sains Menggunakan Pa Berbasis Scientific Approach Dengan Pa Konvensional

    The research had been done to examine the differences and the higher learning outcomes of students knowledge using performance assessment based on scientific approach to the performance of conventional assessment. The design in this study used The Static Group Comparison. The results showed that there were differences in learning outcomes of students knowledge using performance assessment based on scientific approach to the performance of conventional assessment and the higher learning result was using performance assessment based on scientific approach. Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar sains menggunakan performance assessment berbasis scientific approach dengan performance assessment konvensional dan mengetahui manakah hasil belajar sains yang lebih tinggi antara keduanya. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah The Static Group Comparison. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar sains menggunakan performance assessment berbasis scientific approach dengan performance assessment konvensional dan hasil belajar lebih tinggi menggunakan performance assessment berbasis scientific approach
