Set of evolution operators of an evolution algebra
An automorphism defined on an evolution algebra can provide both a finite
number and an infinite number of evolution operators on it. This question is
dealt with in the paper, as well as others more related to the evolution
operators of evolution algebras. After defining the concept of the set of
evolution operators of an evolution algebra, differences between trivial and
non-trivial sets of evolution operators are also covered. Some properties of
these concepts are studied and several examples of the above issues are shown
Applying Recommendations to Align Competences, Methodology, and Assessment in Telematics, Computing, and Electronic Engineering Courses
The alignment between competences, teachinglearning
methodologies, and assessment is a key element of European
higher education. This paper presents the efforts carried
out by six telematics, computer science and electronic engineering
education teachers toward achieving this alignment in their
subjects. In a joint work with pedagogues, a set of recommended
actions are identified. A selection of these actions are applied and
evaluated in the six subjects. The cross analysis of the results
indicates that the actions allow students to better understand
the methodologies and assessments planned for the subjects,
facilitate (self-) regulation, and increase students’ involvement
in the subjects
A Context-Aware Artificial Intelligence-based System to Support Street Crossings For Pedestrians with Visual Impairments
Artificial intelligence has the potential to support and improve the quality of life of people with disabilities. Mobility is a potentially dangerous activity for people with impaired ability. This article presents an assistive technology solution to assist visually impaired pedestrians in safely crossing the street. We use a signal trilateration technique and deep learning (DL) for image processing to segment visually impaired pedestrians from the rest of pedestrians. The system receives information about the presence of a potential user through WiFi signals from a mobile application installed on the user’s phone. The software runs on an intelligent semaphore originally designed and installed to improve urban mobility in a smart city context. This solution can communicate with users, interpret the traffic situation, and make the necessary adjustments (with the semaphore’s capabilities) to ensure a safe street crossing. The proposed system has been implemented in Maringá, Brazil, for a one-year period. Trial tests carried out with visually impaired pedestrians confirm its feasibility and practicality in a real-life environment
Diagnostic accuracy of sliding sign for detecting pouch of Douglas obliteration and bowel involvement in women with suspected endometriosis: systematic review and meta-analysis
The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of the sliding sign on transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) in detecting pouch of Douglas obliteration and bowel involvement in patients with suspected endometriosis, using laparoscopy as the reference standard
Magnetic properties of iron powder sintered by medium-frequency electrical resistance sintering
Medium-frequency electrical resistance sintering (MF-ERS) is a technique that uses the application of pressure and heat, heat coming from the Joule effect, simultaneously to metallic powders. In this study, this technique consolidates commercial iron powders, and the porosity distribution and hysteresis curves of the compacts were analysed. Compact consolidated by conventional powder metallurgy (PM) was compared with the results obtained
In the last 10 years, the crystalline alloys of Ti-Cu have been studied intensively for
their good mechanical properties and good protection against corrosion. One of
the possibilities to further improve these properties is to fabricate amorphous Ti-Cu
alloys. The objective of the present work was to prepare amorphous alloys Ti60Cu40
by mechanical alloying (MA). The microstructure and the possible formation of the
amorphous phase were characterized by laser diffraction granulometry, scanning
electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray
diffraction (XRD). The alloy Ti60Cu40 was obtained in an amorphous state after 60 h
of milling.MINECO (España)/FEDER (UE) DPI2015-69550-C2-1-PMINECO (España)/FEDER (UE) DPI2015-69550-C2-2-
Conceptual Framework for the Strategic Management: A Literature Review - Descriptive
Indexación: Scopus. The objective of this work is to review the literature of the main concepts that lead to determining the strategic approach, creation of strategies, organizational structures, strategy formulation, and strategic evaluation as a guide for the organizational management, taking into account the effects produced by the different types of strategies on the performance of organizations. In this article, the systemic literature review method was used to synthesize the result of multiple investigations and scientific literature. The process of reading and analysis of the literature was carried out through digital search engines with keywords in areas related to the strategic management. This research reveals the lack of scientific literature containing important theoretical concepts that serve the strategists as a guide in the creation, formulation, and evaluation of strategies. This review contributes to the existing literature by examining the impact of the strategic management on the organizational performance.https://www.hindawi.com/journals/je/2020/6253013

Methodological proposals for the development of services in a smart city: A literature review
Indexación ScopusThis literature review analyzes and classifies methodological contributions that answer the different challenges faced by smart cities. This study identifies city services that require the use of artificial intelligence (AI); which they refer to as areas of application of A. These areas are classified and evaluated, taking into account the five proposed domains (government, environment, urban settlements, social assistance, and economy). In this review, 168 relevant studies were identified that make methodological contributions to the development of smart cities and 66 areas of application of AI, along with the main challenges associated with their implementation. The review methodology was content analysis of scientific literature published between 2013 and 2020. The basic terminology of this study corresponds to AI, the internet of things, and smart cities. In total, 196 references were used. Finally, the methodologies that propose optimization frameworks and analytical frameworks, the type of conceptual research, the literature published in 2018, the urban settlement macro-categories, and the group city monitoring–smart electric grid, make the greater contributions. © 2020 by the authors.
