    The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of productdevelopment to the increase in sales volume in PT.Inpersada PrimaciptaPekanbaru. In this research, product development as the independent variable (X)and the level of sales volume as the dependent variable (Y). samples used were 51respondents with a sampling technique using Non Probability Sampling withsampling techniques accidental ... ..Overall the data obtained through questionnaires and further processed forstatistical analysis tested as a simple linear analysis, t-test, correlation coefficient,and the coefficient of determination by using SPSS 16 for windows.From the calculation results obtained regression coefficient value of 2,027,where the value of the correlation coefficient indicates a strong enoughrelationship and positive relationship between product development (variable x) tothe level of sales volume (variable y). while the value of the coefficient ofdetermination (R square) of 0.978 means that the overall development of theproduct had a positive influence response to the levels of sales volume amountingto 97.8% hypothesis test results (t) that the value of t is greater than t table ie32.824> 2.00 means that product development and significant positive effect onthe level of sales volume.Keywords: product development, the level of sales volume, PT.     Physical Unitarity for Massive Non-abelian Gauge Theories in the Landau Gauge: Stueckelberg and Higgs

    We discuss the problem of unitarity for Yang-Mills theory in the Landau gauge with a mass term a la Stueckelberg. We assume that the theory (non-renormalizable) makes sense in some subtraction scheme (in particular the Slavnov-Taylor identities should be respected!) and we devote the paper to the study of the space of the unphysical modes. We find that the theory is unitary only under the hypothesis that the 1-PI two-point function of the vector mesons has no poles (at p^2=0). This normalization condition might be rather crucial in the very definition of the theory. With all these provisos the theory is unitary. The proof of unitarity is given both in a form that allows a direct transcription in terms of Feynman amplitudes (cutting rules) and in the operatorial form. The same arguments and conclusions apply verbatim to the case of non-abelian gauge theories where the mass of the vector meson is generated via Higgs mechanism. To the best of our knowledge, there is no mention in the literature on the necessary condition implied by physical unitarity.Comment: References added. 22 pages.     Chiral bosonization for non-commutative fields

    A model of chiral bosons on a non-commutative field space is constructed and new generalized bosonization (fermionization) rules for these fields are given. The conformal structure of the theory is characterized by a level of the Kac-Moody algebra equal to (1+θ2)(1+ \theta^2) where θ\theta is the non-commutativity parameter and chiral bosons living in a non-commutative fields space are described by a rational conformal field theory with the central charge of the Virasoro algebra equal to 1. The non-commutative chiral bosons are shown to correspond to a free fermion moving with a speed equal to c=c1+θ2 c^{\prime} = c \sqrt{1+\theta^2} where cc is the speed of light. Lorentz invariance remains intact if cc is rescaled by ccc \to c^{\prime}. The dispersion relation for bosons and fermions, in this case, is given by ω=ck\omega = c^{\prime} | k|.Comment: 16 pages, JHEP style, version published in JHE

    Linear Collider Capabilities for Supersymmetry in Dark Matter Allowed Regions of the mSUGRA Model

    Recent comparisons of minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) model predictions with WMAP measurements of the neutralino relic density point to preferred regions of model parameter space. We investigate the reach of linear colliders (LC) with s=0.5\sqrt{s}=0.5 and 1 TeV for SUSY in the framework of the mSUGRA model. We find that LCs can cover the entire stau co-annihilation region provided \tan\beta \alt 30. In the hyperbolic branch/focus point (HB/FP) region of parameter space, specialized cuts are suggested to increase the reach in this important ``dark matter allowed'' area. In the case of the HB/FP region, the reach of a LC extends well past the reach of the CERN LHC. We examine a case study in the HB/FP region, and show that the MSSM parameters μ\mu and M2M_2 can be sufficiently well-measured to demonstrate that one would indeed be in the HB/FP region, where the lightest chargino and neutralino have a substantial higgsino component.Comment: 29 pages, 15 EPS figures; updated version slightly modified to conform with published versio

    Light Dominates Peripheral Circadian Oscillations in Drosophila melanogaster During Sensory Conflict

    In Drosophila, as in other animals, the circadian clock is a singular entity in name and concept only. In reality, clock functions emerge from multiple processes and anatomical substrates. One distinction has conventionally been made between a central clock (in the brain) and peripheral clocks (e.g., in the gut and the eyes). Both types of clock generate robust circadian oscillations, which do not require external input. Furthermore, the phases of these oscillations remain exquisitely sensitive to specific environmental cues, such as the daily changes of light and temperature. When these cues conflict with one another, the central clock displays complex forms of sensory integration; how peripheral clocks respond to conflicting input is unclear. We therefore explored the effects of light and temperature misalignments on peripheral clocks. We show that under conflict, peripheral clocks preferentially synchronize to the light stimulus.     Co-expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its receptors (flk-1 and flt-1) in hormone-induced mammary cancer in the Noble rat

    Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is recognized to play a predominant role in breast cancer prognosis. The action of VEGF is mediated by two high-affinity receptors with ligand-stimulated tyrosine kinase activity: VEGFR-1/flt-1 and VEGFR-2/flk-1, which are expressed mainly in vascular endothelial cells. To the best of our knowledge, no previous studies on the expression of these receptors in breast cancer cells has been made. We have established a new animal model for breast cancer, using a combination of 17β-oestradiol and testosterone as ‘carcinogens’. Taking advantage of the animal model, we have demonstrated that mammary cancer cells expressed not only high levels of VEGF but also, surprisingly, its receptors (flt-1 and flk-1) in mammary cancer cells. Intense reactivities to VEGF, flt-1 and flk-1 were observed in mammary cancer cells, especially in invasive mammary carcinoma. Western blot analysis confirmed the increase in flk-1 and flt-1 proteins in induced mammary cancers. Based on these observations, we hypothesize that in mammary cancer, VEGF regulates, in addition to endothelial proliferation and angiogenesis, also growth of cancer cells by an autocrine mechanism mediated through its receptors. To further verify this hypothesis, we investigated the correlation between cellular proliferation and the expression of VEGF, flt-1 and flk-1. Using double-labelling immunocytochemistry, we have shown a correlation between high VEGF activity and Ki-67 expression. The Ki-67 indices in the areas of strong and weak VEGF reactivities were 58.3% and 3.7% respectively. Similarly, there was also a correlation of strong flk-1 and Ki-67 reactivity. The Ki-67 indices for areas of strong and weak flk-1 reactivities were 53.9% and 3.1% respectively. On the other hand, there was a reverse correlation between flt-1 and Ki-67 activities. These results indicate that overexpression of VEGF and flk-1 is correlated with high Ki-67 index. The data, therefore, suggest that VEGF may act as an autocrine growth factor for mammary cancer cells in vivo and this autocrine regulatory role may be mediated through flk-1. The present study is the first report showing that VEGF may act as a growth stimulator for mammary cancer cells. © 1999 Cancer Research Campaig
