    : Chop wound is a wound caused by sharp or heavy weapon which has at least one sharp cutting edge with powerful energy, so the size of wound same as the length. Generally chop wound happened on region who can be reached by victim hand. This researched purpose to know the description of event rates for chop wound in Surgery Department RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado for period November 2011 to October 2012. The study used a retrospective descriptive method by the medical record study in Plastic Surgery Department of BLU RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado for period November 2011 to October 2012. There is 52 cases chop wound in this researched. Most of cases dominated by man (84.6%), with the largest age group are in 21-30 years old. When we take a look more details usually chop wound caused by machete with locations in extremity and also caused tissue damage in the bone and cartilage. Conclusion: Accidents rate due to chop wound more common in young adults, those happened because of drunk and there is dispute in group. These fact required attention from all parties to realize dangers of alcohol use and pay attention to their own safety, so the incidence can be reduced as small as possible

    ANALYSIS OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF EDUCATOR WITH EXTENSION IN THE DISTRICT MINAHASA. Extension workers has a strategic role in improving the welfare of farmers / ranchers. One of the factors that influence the success of the extension duties is the state socio-economic background or socio-economic characteristics of each extension. However, the extent of the relationship between socioeconomic characteristics with the implementation of the extension in Minahasa unknown. Based on these problems, the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of these characteristics with the execution of tasks with good extension. This study uses survey data collection on respondents extension and analyzed descriptively. The collected data are presented in tables cross between variables (education and experience) were observed and analyzed by looking at the distribution Trends. The results showed that the factor of higher education Bachelor (S1) tend to be better than not on the Bachelor in execution of duty. On the other hand experience of long-serving and who have served a long time showed relatively recent trend duty (< 20 years) is better than the longtime (> 20 years). As a conclusion that the social and economic characteristics based on the educational background related to the implementation of the tasks.     ABSTRACT THE ROLE OF HOUSEHOLD FARMER GROUP ON DEVELOPMENT OF DUCK FARMING SYSTEM IN WEST TONDANO DISTRICT OF MINAHASA REGENCY. Development of animal husbandry was generally intended to improve the human welfare of rural community, mainly increasing the productivity their animal farming system. This effort was mainly done to fulfil the nutritional needs of the communities in rural areas. The animal farming system was changed from the traditional way of animal maintenance into the intensive maintenance, requiring better understanding and knowledge of raising ducks. This research was carried out at the village of Tuutu, West Tondano district of Minahasa regency involving duck household farmer group from January 10, 2017 – 10 April 2017. This research was applied using qualitative research. Data were collected intentionally based on purposive Sampling method, collected from primary and secondary sources of data. Primary data were obtained through direct observation held by interviews with the respondents of duck household farmers applying questions that have been prepared and drawn up in accordance with the research objectives. Secondary data were obtained from existing records in the Office of the head of the local Office and BP3K related with this study. Results of the study showed that all duck household farmer groups at the village of Tuutu, West Tondano district of Minahasa Regency were playing role in development of duck household farming system in making decision, involving the group. These groups were including four groups of Masawa-Sawangan, Tougela, Esa Toroan Waya and Toubeke.Key word: Household farming group, duck farming system development, West Tondano district

    ABSTRAKPenelitian dilaksanakan di Kota Manado, pada perusahaan peternakan Ayam Ras Petelur Dharma Gunawan yang berlokasi di Kelurahan Paniki Bawah Kecamatan Mapanget.Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah berapa besar tercapainya titik impas dan berapa besar keuntungan usaha ternak ayam ras petelur Dharma Gunawan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui titik impas dan keuntungan usaha ternak ayam ras petelur Dharma Gunawan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara secara langsung kepada peternak dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Model analisis yang digunakan yaitu model analisis deskriptif dengan cara verbal dan matematis. Cara verbal adalah cara yang menggunakan kata-kata untuk menerangkan sesuatu hal, sedangkan cara matematis dengan menggunakan analisis titik impas.Penelitian dilakukan pada satu periode produksi, menunjukkan bahwa dalam pengalokasian biaya menyangkut biaya tetap total sebesar Rp 413.793.300,-, dan biaya variabel total sebesar Rp 6.298.040.700,- sedangkan penerimaan total sebesar Rp 9.019.195.160, sehingga keuntungan usaha ternak ayam ras petelur sebesar Rp 2.307.361.460,-. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu titik impas tercapai pada unit 1.877.804,51 dan penerimaan sebesar Rp 1.799.100.000,- dari hasil penjualan telur rata-rata. Usaha ternak ayam petelur Dharma Gunawan prospektif dan menguntungkan. The study was conducted in the Dharma Gunawan layer chicken farm. The farm is a poultry farm business in the city of Manado, located in Paniki Bawah, Mapanget District. The problem in this study is howbreakeven and profit achievement of Dharma Gunawan layer chicken farm. The research objective was to determine the break-even point and profit of Dharma Gunawan layer chicken farm. The research method used is case study method. Dataobtained through direct interviews with farmer using a questionnaire. The analysis model used in the study is a descriptive analysis of verbal and mathematical way models. Verbal is the way how to use words to explain something, while mathematical way is the way of breakeven analysis. The study on allocation of costs and profitwas calculated in a production period on the chicken layer farm, showed that involves fixed costs total is Rp 413 793 300,-, total variable costs is Rp 6,298,040,700,- and total revenue is Rp 9,019,195,160,-, so profitof Dharma Gunawan chicken layer farm is Rp 2.307.361.460,-. The conclusion are reached breakeven in units is 1,877,804.51 and in revenue is Rp 1.7991 billion,- from the average sale of eggs. The Dharma Gunawan layer chicken farm is prospective and profitable.     Androgen receptor genotyping in a large Australasian cohort with androgen insensitivity syndrome; identification of four novel mutations

    We genotyped the androgen receptor (AR) gene in 31 Australasian patients with androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS). The entire coding region of AR was examined including analysis of polymorphic CAG and GGN repeats in all patients. AR defects were found in 66.7% (6/9) of patients with complete AIS (CAIS) and 13.6% (3/22) of patients with partial AIS (PAIS). A novel deletion (N858delG) leading to a premature stop codon was found in CAIS patient P1. CAIS patient P2 has a novel deletion (N2676delGAGT) resulting in a stop at codon 787. These mutations would result in inactivation of AR protein. A novel insertion of a cysteine residue in the first zinc finger of the AR DNA-binding domain (N2045_2047dupCTG) was found in CAIS patient P3. PAIS patient P4 has a novel amino acid substitution (Arg760Ser) in the AR ligand binding domain, which may impair ligand binding. Five patients were found to have previously reported AR mutations and no mutations were identified in the remaining patients

    Uptake of the Necrotic Serpin in Drosophila melanogaster via the Lipophorin Receptor-1

    The humoral response to fungal and Gram-positive infections is regulated by the serpin-family inhibitor, Necrotic. Following immune-challenge, a proteolytic cascade is activated which signals through the Toll receptor. Toll activation results in a range of antibiotic peptides being synthesised in the fat-body and exported to the haemolymph. As with mammalian serpins, Necrotic turnover in Drosophila is rapid. This serpin is synthesised in the fat-body, but its site of degradation has been unclear. By “freezing” endocytosis with a temperature sensitive Dynamin mutation, we demonstrate that Necrotic is removed from the haemolymph in two groups of giant cells: the garland and pericardial athrocytes. Necrotic uptake responds rapidly to infection, being visibly increased after 30 mins and peaking at 6–8 hours. Co-localisation of anti-Nec with anti-AP50, Rab5, and Rab7 antibodies establishes that the serpin is processed through multi-vesicular bodies and delivered to the lysosome, where it co-localises with the ubiquitin-binding protein, HRS. Nec does not co-localise with Rab11, indicating that the serpin is not re-exported from athrocytes. Instead, mutations which block late endosome/lysosome fusion (dor, hk, and car) cause accumulation of Necrotic-positive endosomes, even in the absence of infection. Knockdown of the 6 Drosophila orthologues of the mammalian LDL receptor family with dsRNA identifies LpR1 as an enhancer of the immune response. Uptake of Necrotic from the haemolymph is blocked by a chromosomal deletion of LpR1. In conclusion, we identify the cells and the receptor molecule responsible for the uptake and degradation of the Necrotic serpin in Drosophila melanogaster. The scavenging of serpin/proteinase complexes may be a critical step in the regulation of proteolytic cascades
