sl_2 Gaudin model with Jordanian twist

sl_2 Gaudin model with Jordanian twist is studied. This system can be obtained as the semiclassical limit of the XXX spin chain deformed by the Jordanian twist. The appropriate creation operators that yield the Bethe states of the Gaudin model and consequently its spectrum are defined. Their commutation relations with the generators of the corresponding loop algebra as well as with the generating function of integrals of motion are given. The inner products and norms of Bethe states and the relation to the solutions of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations are discussed.Comment: 22 pages; corrected typo

Purpose: To investigate the phytochemical composition, as well as antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of the leaf and twig extracts of Daphne alpina L. (Thymelaeaceae). Methods: The dry chloroform and methanol extracts of the leaf and twigs of Daphne alpinа were used for analysis. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents were determined by established procedures. Antioxidant potential was investigated by several methods. The antimicrobial properties of the extracts were obtained by microdilution method. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was employed for the identification of the most abundant metabolites, present in D. alpina extracts. Results: The total phenolics of the extracts ranged from 78.98 to 88.98 mg GA/g while total flavonoids were in the range 28.09 to 34.65 mg GA/g of fresh weight. HPLC analysis of the extracts showed the presence 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, 7,8-dihydroxycoumarine and 7-hydroxycoumarine. Total antioxidant capacity ranged from 69.71 μg AA/g for the methanol leaf extract to 73.55 μg AA/g for the chloroform twig extract. All the extracts showed DPPH radical scavenging activity (21.57 - 25.45 μg/mL), inhibitory activity against lipid peroxidation (26.79 - 35.24 μg/mL), ferrous ion chelating ability (21.57 - 45.45 μg/ml) and hydroxyl radical scavenging activity (87.98 - 98.86 μg/mL). Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was in the range 15.62 - 125 μg/mL.Conclusion: The extracts possess moderate antioxidant and antimicrobial activities due probably to the phenolic compounds in the extracts. Keywords: Daphne alpina, Coumarines, 4-Hydroxybenzoic Acid, Phenols, Flavonoids, Antimicrobial Activity, Antioxidant Activit

Algebraic Bethe Ansatz for deformed Gaudin model

The Gaudin model based on the sl_2-invariant r-matrix with an extra Jordanian term depending on the spectral parameters is considered. The appropriate creation operators defining the Bethe states of the system are constructed through a recurrence relation. The commutation relations between the generating function t(\lambda) of the integrals of motion and the creation operators are calculated and therefore the algebraic Bethe Ansatz is fully implemented. The energy spectrum as well as the corresponding Bethe equations of the system coincide with the ones of the sl_2-invariant Gaudin model. As opposed to the sl_2-invariant case, the operator t(\lambda) and the Gaudin Hamiltonians are not hermitian. Finally, the inner products and norms of the Bethe states are studied.Comment: 23 pages; presentation improve

Fleet renewal: An approach to achieve sustainable road transport

    Get PDF
With more stringent requirements for efficient utilization of energy resources within the transport industry a need for implementation of sustainable development principles has appeared. Such action will be one of competitive advantages in the future. This is especially confirmed within the road transport sector. A methodology implemented in public procurement procedures for fleet renewal regarding the calculation of road vehicles’ operational lifecycle costs has been analyzed in detail in this paper. Afore mentioned calculation comprises the costs for: vehicle ownership, energy, carbon dioxide and pollutants emissions. Implementation of this methodology allows making the choice of energy efficient vehicles and vehicles with notable positive environmental effects. The objective of the research is to assess the influence of specific parameters of vehicle operational lifecycle costs, especially energy costs and estimated vehicle energy consumption, on vehicle choice in the procurement procedure. The case of urban bus fleet in Serbia was analyzed. Their operational lifecycle costs were calculated and differently powered vehicles were assessed. Energy consumption input values were defined. It was proved that defined fleet renewal scenarios could influence unquestionable decrease in energy consumption

Creation operators and algebraic Bethe ansatz for the elliptic quantum group Eτ,η(so3)E_{\tau,\eta}(so_3)

We define the elliptic quantum group Eτ,η(so3)E_{\tau,\eta}(so_3) and the transfer matrix corresponding to its simplest highest weight representation. We use Bethe anstaz method to construct the creation operators as polynomials of the Lax matrix elements expressed through a recurrence relation. We give common eigenvectors and eigenvalues of the family of commuting transfer matrices.Comment: 13 page

    Teichm\"uller's problem in space

Quasiconformal homeomorphisms of the whole space Rn, onto itself normalized at one or two points are studied. In particular, the stability theory, the case when the maximal dilatation tends to 1, is in the focus. Our main result provides a spatial analogue of a classical result due to Teichm\"uller. Unlike Teichm\"uller's result, our bounds are explicit. Explicit bounds are based on two sharp well-known distortion results: the quasiconformal Schwarz lemma and the bound for linear dilatation. Moreover, Bernoulli type inequalities and asymptotically sharp bounds for special functions involving complete elliptic integrals are applied to simplify the computations. Finally, we discuss the behavior of the quasihyperbolic metric under quasiconformal maps and prove a sharp result for quasiconformal maps of R^n \ {0} onto itself.Comment: 25 pages, 2 figure

Growth hormone (GH) and glucocorticoids have a powerful influence on controlling fetal growth, differentiation and maturation of numerous tissues. In the present study, the effect of maternal dexamethasone (Dx) treatment on GH cells and body weight in 19- and 21-day-old rat fetuses was investigated using immunocytochemical and morphometric methods. Pregnant female rats received daily injections of 1.0-0.5-0.5 mg Dx/kg b.w. on days 16-18 of pregnancy (experimental group), while the control group received an equal volume of saline. Dx treatment of pregnant rats enhanced immunostaining intensity and significantly increased (

Intra-Annual Dynamics Dissolved Solids and Suspended Sediment in the Extreme Hidrological Events – Case Study Nišava River

Dynamics of totall dissolved solids (TDS) and suspended sediment concentrations (SSC) were monitored on the river Nišava at the hydrological station Dimitrovgrad. Water samples were collected each day in the period from 01.01.2010–31.12.2010. TDS concentration followed a seasonal pattern imposed by the availability of water, with higher concentrations recorded in low-flow periods and lower concentration in the highflow period. SSC was extremely variable and dominate mainly with specific high-flow events. Mean annual discharge (Q=6.68 m3/s, q=13.9 l/s/km2) over the year was 3.3 times higher than the average for the period of 50 years. In the study period, the annual transport dissolved load (Qd) was 36962.8 t (specific load Qds=76.7 t/km2/yr) and suspended sediment load (Qs) was 98861.9 t (specific load Qss=205.1 t/km2/yr). The transport of dissolved load and suspended sediment load shows temporal variations in different seasons. The analysis revealed that the maximum loads was transferred during the winter (Qd=43.3% and Qs=56.8% of the annual transport) and spring season (Qd=37.9% and Qs=38.9% of the annual transport). A comparative analysis of Q, Qd, and Qs show that the suspended sediment shows greater variability and exponential pattern of transport. For instance, 90% of the time was required to export 65% of the total water and transported 77% of the total dissolved load and only 22% total suspended sediment load. The most extreme precipitation episodes and extreme temperatures events was recorded in February 2010. The floods in February contributed by 44.8% of the total Qs transport over the study period. These findings have important implications for water resource management in the context of sediments mobilization, erosion, channel management, water quality and ecological functions

Histological and morphometric aspects of ridge preservation with a moldable, in situ hardening bone graft substitute

    Get PDF
Biphasic calcium phosphates (BCP) are widely used in alveolar ridge regeneration as a porous scaffold for new bone formation. The aim of this case series was to evaluate the regenerative effect of the combination of BCP and polylactide-co-glycolide (PLGA) which can serve as a barrier membrane during bone regeneration. The study included five patients. Four months into the healing period, bone samples were collected for histological and morphometric analyses. The results of morphometric analysis showed that newly formed bone represented 32.2 ± 6.8% of the tissue, 31.9 ± 8.9% was occupied by residual graft and 35.9 ± 13.5% by soft tissue. Active osteogenesis was seen around the particles of the graft. The particles were occupied mostly by immature woven bone and connective tissue. The quality and quantity of newly formed bone, after the use of BCP/PLGA for ridge preservation, can be adequate for successful implant therapy after tooth extraction.Projekat ministarstva br. Entropy and fractal nature

    Get PDF
Existing, the biunivocal correspondents between the fractal nature and the nature discovered by fractals is the source and meeting point from those two aspects which are similar to the thermodynamically philosophical point of view. Sometimes we can begin from the end. We are substantial part of such fractals space nature. The mathematics fractal structures world have been inspired from nature and Euclidian geometry imagined shapes, and now it is coming back to nature serving it. All our analysis are based on several experimental results. The substance of the question regarding entropy and fractals could be analyzed on different ceramics and materials in general. We have reported the results based on consolidation BaTiO3- ceramics by the standard sintering technology, performed with BaTiO3 and different additives (MnCO3, CeO2, Bi2O3, Fe2O3, CaZrO3, Nb2O5, Er2O3, Yt2O3, Ho2O3). Thermodynamic principles are very important. Beside the energy and temperature, the entropy as a measure between the order and disorder (chaos) is very important parameter. In this paper, we establish the relation between the entropy and fractal that opens new frontiers with the goal to understand and establish the order-disorder relation
