Feasibility Analyses of Integrated Broiler Production

The major obstacles in the development of broiler raising is the expensive price of feed and the fluctuative price of DOCs. The cheap price of imported leg quarters reduces the competitiveness of the local broilers. Therefore, an effort to increase production efficiency is needed through integration between broiler raising and corn farmers and feed producers (integrated farming). The purpose of this study is to analyze the feasibility of integrating broiler raising with corn cultivation and feed production. Besides that, a simulation was conducted to analyze the effects of DOC price changes, broiler price and production capacity. The analyses showed that integrated farming and a mere combination between broiler raising and feed factory of a 10,000 bird capacity is not financially feasible. Increasing the production to 25,000 broiler chickens will make the integrated farming financially feasible. Unintegrated broiler raising is relatively sensitive to broiler price decreases and DOC price increases compared to integrated farming

This article is about the development of Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah in Bima (a historical study). The aim is: 1) To explain the the early history ofĀ  Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah in Bima; 2) to explain the expansion process of Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah in Bima; 3) to find the prominent figures involved in the spread of Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah in Bima; 4) to explain the peopleā€™s response in learning Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah in Bima. This article is using descriptive qualitiaitve method with a historical approach. The result shows that Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah was started along with the beginning of Islam in Bima. Back then, Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah was learned limited to particular people only. Only those who are concern to learn about it. The first and often recited was Imam Ashim narrated by Hafs. There are two process of Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah spread. Firstly, prior to MTQ competition. Here, the Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah appeared only a learning process between students and the teacher. Secondly, post MTQ competition. At this time, Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah has begun learned by widspread of people who eventually will compete at the MTQ festival. As it stands, the number of people who learn Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah is decreasing. As a part of MTQ competiton, Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah is notorious among Bima people. The key figure of Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah spread in Bima are TGH Husein, TGH Abubakar, TGH Yusuf, TGH Ramli, TGH Ridwan, TG Jubair, TGH Adnin and many more involved in the spread, especially the students of High School of Islamic Studies (PTIQ) and Bima students in Al-Azhar University of Cairo, Egypt. When first introduced, Qirāā€™at Sabā€™ah the people of Bima claimed it was an error in reciting Quran. But in time, people get used to it, especially when it began to present in MTQ

One of the main tasks of Computer Science Faculty of Sriwijaya University (Fasilkom Unsri) as one of the higher education institution is the academic management. Academic process in Fasilkom Unsri still emphasizes the use of word processing and spreadsheet applications that can result in delays and redundancy on the processing of data for syllabus, units lecture event, teachers' attendance, and class schedules reports. The absence of a specialized system that monitors the lecture materials directly can also result in decision making process by the top-level-management becomes less optimal to improve the quality of higher education in the academic field. Development of Course Management Information Systems is an effort to facilitate the top-level-management (Dean, Assistant Dean) in business management and evaluation of the overall college process that has occurred in order to improve the quality of higher education in the academic field using computer-based systems. This study emphasizes the process of developing course management information systems at Fasilkom Unsri, particularly in systems analysis phase. The methodology used is the Framework for the Application of Systems Thinking (FAST). In this methodology there are some systems analysis processes, namely the scope definition, problem analysis, requirements analysis, logical design and decision analysis. This study produced a proposed system and application architecture of management information systems courses in Fasilkom Unsri

Copyright Ā© 2019 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd. This research is to develop set-point weighting-based dynamic integral sliding mode control with nonlinear full-order state observers to deal with nonlinear and underactuated coupled systems, and unforeseen circumstances of quadcopter UAVs systems. A comparative assessment through numerical simulations of sliding mode-based nonlinear observer approaches and Kalman filter is presented. These include quasi method, interval type-2 fuzzy logic system, super-twisting algorithm, higher order sliding mode observer, and extended Kalman filter. Chattering, noise rejection, estimation error and time required to track true states are evaluated to demonstrate the performance of each observer. In addition, to assess the proposed controller performance, maximum overshoot, rise time, chattering, and steady-state error are evaluated in relation to the use of each observer

Active Mean Fields for Probabilistic Image Segmentation: Connections with Chan-Vese and Rudin-Osher-Fatemi Models

Segmentation is a fundamental task for extracting semantically meaningful regions from an image. The goal of segmentation algorithms is to accurately assign object labels to each image location. However, image-noise, shortcomings of algorithms, and image ambiguities cause uncertainty in label assignment. Estimating the uncertainty in label assignment is important in multiple application domains, such as segmenting tumors from medical images for radiation treatment planning. One way to estimate these uncertainties is through the computation of posteriors of Bayesian models, which is computationally prohibitive for many practical applications. On the other hand, most computationally efficient methods fail to estimate label uncertainty. We therefore propose in this paper the Active Mean Fields (AMF) approach, a technique based on Bayesian modeling that uses a mean-field approximation to efficiently compute a segmentation and its corresponding uncertainty. Based on a variational formulation, the resulting convex model combines any label-likelihood measure with a prior on the length of the segmentation boundary. A specific implementation of that model is the Chan-Vese segmentation model (CV), in which the binary segmentation task is defined by a Gaussian likelihood and a prior regularizing the length of the segmentation boundary. Furthermore, the Euler-Lagrange equations derived from the AMF model are equivalent to those of the popular Rudin-Osher-Fatemi (ROF) model for image denoising. Solutions to the AMF model can thus be implemented by directly utilizing highly-efficient ROF solvers on log-likelihood ratio fields. We qualitatively assess the approach on synthetic data as well as on real natural and medical images. For a quantitative evaluation, we apply our approach to the icgbench dataset
