In this project the issue of flood hazard mapping has been addressed from the perspective of different mapping scale in a GIS environment. The flood hazard map is particularly handy for the planners and administrators for formulating remedial strategy

Rethinking practitioner research in education: not transcribing but reflecting and some reflections on the nature of practitioner research (2nd iteration – Cambridge)

This paper is intended to provoke discussion regarding how different types of research, particularly practitioner research and arts-based research, can inform each other and develop their own rationale for collecting and analysing research data as well as for generating new knowledge. The authors have different backgrounds, one in practitioner research (James), one in arts-based research (Selena) and one in leadership research (Joelma). This paper explores the commonalities they have found, in terms of searching for alternative methodologies for themselves and for those they work with. In this paper, we question some of the dominant approaches to qualitative research, including those that are highly influenced by grounded theory and that typically include creating new data through interviews, then transcribing and coding interviews. The pressure on teachers to find concrete strategies rather than investigate perceptions is discussed in the final section. The paper makes a case for original contributions and alternative approaches towards educational research freed from methodological conventions. It is intended to provoke discussion regarding where the boundaries of innovation may lie in terms of producing research that can still be seen as valid and useful to the researcher and to others. It is one of two papers written concurrently and delivered at conferences just a month apart. The other paper focuses explicitly on the dissemination of research and is entitled: Torn Between Expectations and Imagination: Alternative Forms of Communicating Educational Research (a short discussion paper reflecting on a workshop) (Yuan & Underwood, 2015)

Life forms, life strategies and ecological indices of bryophytes for bioindication in wood areas: a case of study in the "Bosco della Ficuzza, Rocca Busambra, Bosco del Cappelliere e Gorgo del Drago\u201d Oriented Nature Reserve (West Sicily).

Life forms, life strategies and ecological indices of bryophytes which live in evergreen and deciduous Quercus woods as well as in a Pinus halepensis artificial system within the "Bosco della Ficuzza, Rocca Busambra, Bosco del Cappelliere e Gorgo del Drago" Oriented Nature Reserve are analysed and compared. The study highlights that in the same local climatic conditions the Quercus and Pinus trees select different bio-ecological types in the bryophyte communities. They appear to be especially useful to detect physionomic-structural differences in the woods, integrating the information provided by the ecological indice

Based on recent bryophyte collections five records are added to the bryophyte flora of some Italian regions. The hepatic Riccia beyrichiana is new to Campania, Archidium alternifolium, Campylopus introflexus and Hedwigia stellata are new mosses to Lazio and Hylocomium splendens to Basilicata. In addition, the presence of Campylopus atrovirens and Pleuridium acuminatum in Lazio is confirmed after more than half a centur

Introduction to the study of the bryological flora of the Batumi Botanical Garden (Georgia).

A preliminary list of 22 bryophytes growing in the Batumi Botanical garden is provided. From chorological point of view, temperate and boreo-temperate taxa prevail while with regard to ecological behaviour, mesophilous taxa are the most numerous and with respect to light requirements equivalently sciaphilous and eliophilous taxa are represented. The mosses Fissidens dubius and Cyrtomnium hymenophylloides are recorded for the first time in Georgia
