    It is well – known the fact that the honey is a very important product, obtained from the bees. In literature there are many publications that highlight the high level of lead contamination of the vegetation located in the close proximity of roads with intense car traffic, which sometimes reach several tens of mg/kg of product.The main sources of the honey`s contamination are the residuum resulted from non – ferrous industry, but also from the industry that uses or transforms lead and its derivatives.But the widest contamination is the result of the utilization of auto vehicles.In order to reduce the detonating effect into the explosion engine and to increase the efficiency of the combustible, it is used to add lead tetraethyl to gas. After such a "useful" action, this chemical compound of lead and exhaust gases are simultaneously eliminated, contaminating the entire area and, inherently, the honey

    Universities’ social responsibility through the lens of strategic planning: A content analysis

    This paper examines the degree of social responsibility integration in Italian public universities’ medium and long-term planning documents. We adopted a qualitative approach, applying the content analysis technique to a selected sample of 20 strategic plans issued by Italian large and mega universities. The coding instrument was developed considering the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) contained in the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Therefore, we identified 17 categories and 103 key symbols. The analysis undertaken showed that to date, Italian public universities still pay little attention in their planning documents to objectives regarding the multiple dimensions of Social Responsibility, mainly in relation to environmental issues, a failure detrimental to University Social Responsibility implementation and achievement. However, there is a greater sensitivity to Social Responsibility issues in some universities’ planning documents, therefore also more mature practices can be identified, showing universities that have institutionalized the concept of sustainability in their planning documents

    Urolithiasis represents the formation of mineral, organic or inorganic deposits in the kidneys, pelvis or bladder. Lithiasis can be formed at any level of the urinary tract (upper and lower) as a result of a dysmetabolism, urinary obstruction (anatomical or pathological) or an infection (cause or effect). The study approaches in all its complexity the urinary lithiasis, in felines and humans, comparing the etiopathogenetic induced context and the consequent therapeutic approaches, in veterinary medicine, following the protocols recommended and applied in human medicine. Lithiasis elements with urinary localization due to their irritative and/or obstructive effects constitute a challenge in the non-surgical treatment of such uro-nephrological disorders, with an appreciable incidence in the pathology of the urinary tract in pets, especially in felines, dissolution and/or lithotripsy allowing the treatment of such disorders (especially involving the lower urinary tract)

    Improving Utility of GPU in Accelerating Industrial Applications with User-centred Automatic Code Translation

    SMEs (Small and medium-sized enterprises), particularly those whose business is focused on developing innovative produces, are limited by a major bottleneck on the speed of computation in many applications. The recent developments in GPUs have been the marked increase in their versatility in many computational areas. But due to the lack of specialist GPU (Graphics processing units) programming skills, the explosion of GPU power has not been fully utilized in general SME applications by inexperienced users. Also, existing automatic CPU-to-GPU code translators are mainly designed for research purposes with poor user interface design and hard-to-use. Little attentions have been paid to the applicability, usability and learnability of these tools for normal users. In this paper, we present an online automated CPU-to-GPU source translation system, (GPSME) for inexperienced users to utilize GPU capability in accelerating general SME applications. This system designs and implements a directive programming model with new kernel generation scheme and memory management hierarchy to optimize its performance. A web-service based interface is designed for inexperienced users to easily and flexibly invoke the automatic resource translator. Our experiments with non-expert GPU users in 4 SMEs reflect that GPSME system can efficiently accelerate real-world applications with at least 4x and have a better applicability, usability and learnability than existing automatic CPU-to-GPU source translators

    Comparison of different definitions to classify remission and sustained remission: 1 year TEMPO results

    To assess methods to calculate achieving and sustaining remission in a double blind randomised trial in patients with RA who received etanercept, methotrexate, or an etanercept/methotrexate combination. Remission was defined as DAS <1.6, DAS28 <2.6, and ACR70 response. Sustaining remission was analysed in three ways: (a) analysis of sustained DAS remission, DAS28 remission, or ACR70 response continuously for 6 months; (b) analysis of sustained remission appraised through a continuity rewarded scoring system, which is the weighted sum of all intervals in the study in which patients are in DAS or DAS28 remission; or (c) longitudinal modelling of remission odds using generalised estimating equations. Significantly more patients treated with the etanercept/methotrexate combination reached DAS remission (37%) than those treated with either methotrexate (14%) or etanercept (18%) alone (p <0.01). Results for DAS28 and for the ACR70 response were similar. Agreement between DAS remission and DAS28 remission was good, but agreement between either of these and the ACR70 response was less. Patients in DAS or DAS28 remission had a lower level of disease activity (fewer active joints, lower ESR) than those achieving ACR70 response; the converse was seen using pain VAS. The three methods were comparable for sustainability of remission and showed significant advantage for combination therapy, which increased the number and durability of remission periods. DAS and DAS28 remission results were similar for assessing achieving and sustaining remission in RA, frequently differing from patients classified as ACR70 responders.     Mediastinal cavernous hemangioma in a child with pulmonary hypertension

Dynamic contrast enhanced computed tomography of the chest revealed a heterogeneous mass in the antero-superior mediastinum with multiple scattered calcifications, gradually increasing puddles of contrast enhancement and a dilated central vein draining into the superior venae cavae. Surgical resection was performed via median sternotomy. The central vein was ligated in close proximity to its draining point and the entire mass was carefully dissected and excised. The histopathological findings were consistent with cavernous hemangioma. Her postoperative course was uneventful and she was subsequently discharged. The cause of her pulmonary hypertension, however, remained uncertain and required further investigation

    Automated information system as quality management providing human tissue banks

Material and methods: Article represents the analysis of the needs to create and use in human tissues and cells bank an automated information system (AIS) to provide qualitative and safe tissue and cells grafts for transplantation in the Republic of Moldova. Automated Information System components are analyzed and characterized, elucidated the functions they have to fulfill, their role in ensuring the effective management of human tissue bank (HTB) in providing secure grafts for health system in the Republic of Moldova. Results: Basic functions of the HTB AIS include: management of the life cycle of donated products; information about products recording and storing; grafts records and relevant information about them; monitoring of the stored products; indexing exactly the products location in storage devices; a comprehensive view of patient information products; listing information in real and historical time by textual and graphical means; generating and scanning labels for each product; evidence of testing and validation samples; view reports using aggregate data; restricting access rights per each group of users. Conclusions: Thus it appears that AIS is an important element in ensuring a strict accounting of human allergic graft throughout their movement from the procurement, processing, validation, storage, distribution and transplantation. AIS also permits easier integration into the European network for tissue, because it allows encoding of grafts according to European unique codes way enabling the identification of tissue grafts as Bank products and follow their path. The computerized record of practical grafts excludes human errors in grafts distribution
