Kompetenzorientierung in der Berufsbildung. Ein Modellversuch im Spektrum zwischen Input-, Prozess- und Produktqualität

Vor dem Hintergrund intensiver Qualitätsdiskussionen im österreichischen Bildungssystem unter dem Schlagwort "Kompetenzorientierung" wird in diesem Beitrag für berufsbildende höhere Schulen ein Konzept zur umfassenden, d. h. Input, Prozess und Produkt berücksichtigenden, Qualitätsentwicklung vorgeschlagen. Die Instrumente dieses Konzepts "KLEE" sind ein Kerncurriculum, eine Fallbeispiel-sammlung, eine Lernstandserhebung sowie eine Lehrer/innen-Fortbildung. Ziel dieses Beitrags ist es, die Auswahl dieser Instrumente zu begründen, die einzelnen Instrumente von ihrer Konzeption her zu beschreiben sowie daran anknüpfend am Beispiel der Handelsakademie, II. Jahrgang Betriebswirtschaft, konkret zu zeigen, wie diese Instrumente fachdidaktisch umgesetzt werden könnten. Im Rahmen eines Modellversuchs wurde das Konzept in 13 Wiener Handelsakademien ein Schuljahr lang erprobt. Die Ergebnisse der umfangreichen Begleitforschung sollen ebenfalls auszugsweise - in Bezug auf die Akzeptanz der Instrumente durch die Stakeholder - dargestellt werden

Glaskultur im Hause Esterházy

Das Tafel-Service-Ensemble mit den Initialen PE unter dem Fürstenhut der Esterházy, entworfen von Ludwig Lobmeyr, bildet die Grundlage, den Ausgangspunkt für die Generierung von Forschungsfragenkomplexen bezüglich Produktion, Verwendung, zeitliche Ortung und Formkomposition sowie für deren Ausführung. Im diesem Rahmen war es möglich, vorliegende repräsentative Tafelutensilien Paul IV., 10. Fürst Esterházy de Galantha, zuzuordnen. Sie spiegeln sowohl die Vereinbarkeit von, als auch den Kompromiss zwischen Kontinuität und Modernität (im Sinne von Weiterentwicklung und Modifizierung der Stilentsprechung) im Historismus des letzten Drittels des 19. Jahrhunderts wider. Die Gläser des TS 98 sowie ihre Entwürfe sind beeinflusst von Auswirkungen der Entwicklungen der industriellen Massenproduktion, dem damit einhergehenden wirtschaftlichen Konkurrenzprinzip, den Ideen der Kunstgewerbe-Reform, der Ideologie des Klassizismus sowie lokalen Traditionen – im Grunde werden hier unterschiedlich gepolte Strömungen durch gelebten Historismus zusammengeführt. Nach wie vor im Produktions-Repertoire der Firma Lobmeyr, belegt durch originale Musterbuchblätter, nehmen die Gläser in ihrer Materialwahl und Formensprache klar Bezug auf den tafelkulturellen, wenn nicht sogar auf den gesamtgesellschaftlichen Kontext der höfischen Repräsentation der Zeit

El uso del espacio verde urbano: entre lo privado y lo público, estética y rendimiento económico. La Casa de Campo, parque de Madrid

The author analyzes the perception of public open green areas in Madrid. Through the study of the «Casa de Campo» park, she aims to show how this green area has been used in different ways. The Casa de Campo has both an aesthetic and an economic purpose. In Northern Europe, open areas such as this one are often places which people use for contemplation and solitude; in contrast, in Southern Europe people tend to utilize these parks as meeting arenas, for socializing.La autora analiza la percepción de los espacios verdes en Madrid. A través del ejemplo de la Casa de Campo, muestra cómo el espacio verde tiene una función doble: estética y económica a la vez. En el sur de Europa, a diferencia de lo que ocurre en el norte, donde se busca especialmente la soledad y la contemplación, estos espacios verdes sirven como importantes lugares de encuentro social

La intervención ciudadana en la transformación de los espacios públicos

The author discusses the concept of “Citizens’ Involvement” as it concerns a program known as Agenda 21: its definition, its legal basis, the contexts of its application, the problems involved in the processes of negotiations carried on both levels (the citizens’ and the institutional representatives’) and the specific results to be obtained. In connection with this program, the author describes an ongoing research project with the association Paideia that consists in analyzing the perceptions of and opinions about urban green spaces by a group of children from the neighborhood of Lavapiés in Madrid.La autora analiza qué es lo que se entiende por “participación ciudadana”, especialmente el programa Agenda 21, sus bases legales, los ámbitos de su aplicación, los problemas que surgen durante estos procesos y, finalmente, sus resultados concretos. Small-molecule inhibition of BRD4 as a new potent approach to eliminate leukemic stem- and progenitor cells in acute myeloid leukemia (AML)

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a life-threatening stem cell disease characterized by uncontrolled proliferation and accumulation of myeloblasts. Using an advanced RNAi screen-approach in an AML mouse model we have recently identified the epigenetic ‘reader’ BRD4 as a promising target in AML. In the current study, we asked whether inhibition of BRD4 by a small-molecule inhibitor, JQ1, leads to growth-inhibition and apoptosis in primary human AML stem- and progenitor cells. Primary cell samples were obtained from 37 patients with freshly diagnosed AML (n=23) or refractory AML (n=14). BRD4 was found to be expressed at the mRNA and protein level in unfractionated AML cells as well as in highly enriched CD34+/CD38− and CD34+/CD38+ stem- and progenitor cells in all patients examined. In unfractionated leukemic cells, submicromolar concentrations of JQ1 induced major growth-inhibitory effects (IC50 0.05-0.5 μM) in most samples, including cells derived from relapsed or refractory patients. In addition, JQ1 was found to induce apoptosis in CD34+/CD38− and CD34+/CD38+ stem- and progenitor cells in all donors examined as evidenced by combined surface/Annexin-V staining. Moreover, we were able to show that JQ1 synergizes with ARA-C in inducing growth inhibition in AML cells. Together, the BRD4-targeting drug JQ1 exerts major anti-leukemic effects in a broad range of human AML subtypes, including relapsed and refractory patients and all relevant stem- and progenitor cell compartments, including CD34+/CD38− and CD34+/CD38+ AML cells. These results characterize BRD4-inhibition as a promising new therapeutic approach in AML which should be further investigated in clinical trials

N-chlorotaurine is highly active against respiratory viruses including SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) in vitro

N-chlorotaurine (NCT) a long-lived oxidant generated by leukocytes, can be synthesized chemically and applied topically as an anti-infective to different body sites, including the lung via inhalation. Here, we demonstrate the activity of NCT against viruses causing acute respiratory tract infections, namely severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), influenza viruses, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Virucidal activity of NCT was tested in plaque assays, confirmed by RT-qPCR assays. Attack on virus proteins was investigated by mass spectrometry. NCT revealed broad virucidal activity against all viruses tested at 37°C and pH 7. A significant reduction in infectious particles of SARS-CoV-2 isolates from early 2020 by 1 log10 was detected after 15 min of incubation in 1% NCT. Proteinaceous material simulating body fluids enhanced this activity by transchlorination mechanisms (1 -2 log10 reduction within 1–10 minutes). Tested SARS-CoV-2 variants B.1.1.7 (Alpha) und B.1.351 (Beta) showed a similar susceptibility. Influenza virus infectious particles were reduced by 3 log10 (H3N2) to 5 log10 (H1N1pdm), RSV by 4 log10. Mass spectrometry of NCT-treated SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and 3C-like protease, influenza virus hemagglutinin and neuraminidase, and RSV fusion glycoprotein disclosed multiple sites of chlorination and oxidation as the molecular mechanism of action. Application of 1.0% NCT as a prophylactic and therapeutic strategy against acute viral respiratory tract infections deserves comprehensive clinical investigation.Peer Reviewe
