    The aim of this study is to determine the damage of the propeller shaft using NON-DESTRUCTIVE-TEST method. The examination of the damage is conducted at ship of Anugerah Perdana 09which shaft\u27s diameter of 100mm and shaft\u27s length of 2,471mm, and Porodisa Vessel with diameter of 100 mm and length of 2,147 mm, there are two shaft, left and right, as the test object. Based on the examination result on both of the ship shafts, there are two damages. On Anugerah Perdana shaft, there is damage on the bottom side of the right keyway with length of 60 mm, while on Porodisa axis, there is one crack on the right keyway with length of 20 mm. Crack happended because on the shaft is because the ship bumping with reef or over-capacity

    In the process of the commercial vehicle lifting equipment production, there are many joining processes done by using electric welding. To find out the effect of the process, the tensile strength of the welding process is necessary to be tested. The information of welding strength on the commercial vehicle components is obtainable from the tensile test that has been done over the twelve specimens with the standard rectangular cross-section from the result of welding process. The results of the tensile test show the data of loading and extension that occurred which was then processed to obtain the value of the stress, strain and curves of each specimen. Testing from the specimen it is obtained that the yield strength 461.538 N/mm2, the tensile strength of 536.325 N/mm2, tenacity 2,451%, the elastic modulus of 353.955 N/mm2, resilience and toughness 0.652 and 876.363 N/mm2, with an error rate of 5%. The strength of the electric welding showed no significant difference compared to the strength without joining, and did not provide a great influence on the mechanical properties of commercial vehicle components lifting capacity of 2 tons, with an error of 5%.     Coconut tree (cocos nucifera) is one plant that is widely grown in North Sulawesi many benefits of the overall crop. Since sawdust coconut trunks are not optimally its utilization as a filler for composite materials is studied. In addition to eco-friendly materials are easily obtainable.This study aims to determine the mechanical properties of the composites tested bending (ASTMD 6110) and impact (ASTMD 256-00) with grain variation using mesh 250, 180, and 90 using polyester resin matrix. Optimum impact Is obtained using 250 Mesh 60% volume fraction of resinFrom the data processing Bending test optimum bending moment obtained at 250 mesh resin volume fraction of 70%, and optimum bending stress obtained on 250 mesh 70% volume fraction. For optimum deflection on 250 mesh fraction 70% volume for optimum bending rigidity is at 250 mesh 60% volume fraction. Then it shows the variation of grain size, the volume fraction affects the value of the mechanical strength of the composite

    This research aim to determine the hardness number, the absorb energy and the price of coconut peeler material impact and to analyze the differences of mechanical properties of coconut peeler production from several blacksmith craftsmen in Minahasa. Basic material of coconut peeler is spring steel car. The coconut peeler is the result of three blacksmith craftmen centers in Minahasa. From the test result of the hardness specimen without treatment, the highest hardness value is 711.3774369 HVN while with the specimens of hardness test with treatments which the value for Wulauan is 259.1432198 HVN, for Parepei is 315.2173625 HVN , for Tombasian is 262, 1731511 HVN. As for the impact testing, specimen with treatment Wulauan 19.89 J energy absorption and impact the price of 1,321 J / mm², which is the energy absorption and impact the price of the highest compared with the treatment of test specimens in Parepei who holds 15.94 J energy absorption and impact prices 1,063 J / mm², and in Tombasian which has energy absorption and the price impact of 4.45 j 0.297 J / mm², as well as the untreated specimens that have absorption energy of 6.42 J and impact the price of 0.642 J / mm².

    The aim of this research is to obtain the optimum tensile strenght of rattan fiber composite for different volume fraction of fiber and resin. without treatment, and find result of fracture at the specimens. Material used in this research is rattan fiber which have a straight fiber orientation. Different volume fraction without treatment used in this study. The composites was molded with epoxy used as matrix. Tensile test was performed based on ASTM D638 standard. Maximum tensile test obtained is 197.505 N / mm at 30% volume fraction of epoxy and 70% fiber, While the optimum water absorption is 2.71 grams of at 90% volume fraction of epoxy and 10% fiber

    This research was aimed at knowing the cutting force a lathe with several parameters: rotation condition,varied cutting depth,and constant eater motion. The influence of the machining parameters to the cutting forcewas obtained by conducting tests on KNUTH DM 1000 A lathe.on every test with changing rotation and cutting depth, the electric current can be measured with ampere pliers. From the data of the electric currenst, the power and cutting force of every test can be calculated. From the test result and interacted two way variance analysis,it was found that the most influential parameters to the cutting force is the rotation,while the cutting depth does not influential the cutting force significantly, so it can be ignored. On 300 rpm gave the average cutting force of 2166 N, on 700 rpm 918 N,and on 1600 rpm. This results show that the rotation, the lower the cutting force.     This research aim to determine the analyze differences of mechanical properties of coconut peeler material at varying cooling rate. Basic material of coconut peeler in the research is spring steel car.The result of the experiment showed that without cooling treatment, the level is 382,972 N/2, for the care of cooling specimen at varying cooling rate, the highest level is 628,986 N/2.     Anova test is a form of statistical hypothesis testing where we draw conclusions based on data or inferential statistical groups. The null hypothesis of the Anova test is that the data is a simple random of the same population so that it has same mean and variance expectation.               The aim of research is to obtain the optimum bending strength of coco fiber composite for volume fraction of 0 % fiber and 100% resin, 10% fiber and 90% resin, 20% fiber and 80%resin, 30% fiber and 70% resin, 40% fiber and 60% resin, 50% fiber and 50% resin, 60% fiber and 40% resin, 70% fiber and 30% resin with alkali treatment for two hours and without treatment, and find the result of fracture at the specimens.               Based on anova analysis with error percentase 0,05 obtained F count> F crit so that answer hypothesis to fiber treatment affect mechanical properties of bending strength F = 7.752752499 F crit = 2.657197 without treatment. Keywords : Anova Test Methods, Analysis Of Composite Mechanical Properties, CoconutFibers

    ANALISIS POTENSI AIR PANAS DI BUKIT KASIH KANONANG UNTUK PENGERING GABAH

    This study is intended to analyze thehot spring water potential at Bukit KasihKanonang by studying the influence of water level toward the water contents reduction ofunhulled rice mass after drying process has been done.Unhulled rice drying process has been examined on the dryer for five days with thevaried water level. The examination was being done in five hourseach day, starts at 9.00a.m till 02.00 p.m WITA (the local time of middle Indonesia).The result of analysis shows that the percentage of the ideal water contentreduction stand on the position level water with height 15 cm which is 72.470 %. The mostoptimal heat transfer rate of the unhulled rice stands on level 10 cm with the drying timeof 5 hours and cross-sectional size of the dryer is 50 x 50 cm.Keywords : Hot spring Water, Unhulled-Rice Drying, Drying Temperatur
