Generalization of coloring linear transformation
The paper is focused on the technique of linear
transformation between correlated and uncorrelated
Gaussian random vectors, which is more or less commonly
used in the reliability analysis of structures. These linear
transformations are frequently needed to transform
uncorrelated random vectors into correlated vectors with
a prescribed covariance matrix (coloring transformation),
and also to perform an inverse (whitening) transformation,
i.e. to decorrelate a random vector with a non-identity
covariance matrix. Two well-known linear transformation
techniques, namely Cholesky decomposition and eigendecomposition
(also known as principal component
analysis, or the orthogonal transformation of a covariance
matrix), are shown to be special cases of the generalized
linear transformation presented in the paper. The proposed
generalized linear transformation is able to rotate the
transformation randomly, which may be desired in order
to remove unwanted directional bias. The conclusions
presented herein may be useful for structural reliability
analysis with correlated random variables or random
fields
Database of fracture-mechanical concrete parameters and its implementation into software FReET
Příspěvek přibližuje tvorbu databáze lomově-mechanických parametrů betonů vybraných
pevnostních tříd a její implementaci do pravděpodobnostního softwaru FReET. Podklad databáze
představují výsledky dříve provedených lomových zkoušek trámců se zářezem, na jejichž realizaci se
podílely širší týmy pracovníků Ústavu stavební mechaniky a Ústavu stavebního zkušebnictví fakulty
stavební VUT v Brně. Implementovaná databáze bude využita pro potřeby pravděpodobnostních
výpočtů betonových konstrukcí.The paper presents the database of fracture-mechanical parameters of selected concrete
strength classes and its implementation into probabilistic software FReET. A basis for the database
were the results of earlier performed fracture tests of notched beams, which were realized in close
cooperation of research teams from Institute of Structural Mechanics and Institute of Testing, Faculty
of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. The implemented database will be used for
the reliability calculations in mentioned software
Probabilistic assessment and sensitivity analysis of existing concrete bridge via surrogate modeling
The paper is focused on probabilistic assessment and sensitivity analysis of existing prestressed concrete bridge using surrogate model in form of Polynomial Chaos Expansion (PCE). The bridge was selected in the framework of the European Project INTERREG AUSTRIA-CZECH REPUBLIC "TCZ190 SAFEBRIDGE" focused on advanced numerical analysis of existing bridges represented by non-linear finite element model. In this study, surrogate model in form of PCE was created, which represents very efficient type of surrogate model. One of significant advantages of PCE is powerful post-processing including sensitivity and moment analysis of the response, which is important part of probabilistic analysis. The obtained numerical results of advanced stochastic analysis consisting of uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis of the existing bridge structure are presented in the paper
Semi-probabilistic assessment of existing bridge using simplified methods for estimation of variance
The paper is focused on assessment of existing prestressed concrete bridge by simplified methods for estimation of coefficient of variation. The bridge was selected in the framework of the European Project INTERREG AUSTRIA-CZECH REPUBLIC "ATCZ190 SAFEBRIDGE" focused on advanced numerical analysis of existing bridges represented by non-linear finite element model. The key ingredient in semi-probabilistic design and assessment of structures is an estimation of coefficient of variation (ECoV). Recently, correlation interval approach together with novel Eigen ECoV were proposed by authors of this paper and theoretically proved to be an efficient and accurate alternative to existing methods. This contribution is focused on practical application of Eigen ECoV on real example solved by NLFEM and its comparison with other existing simplified methods
On Taylor Series Expansion for Statistical Moments of Functions of Correlated Random Variables dagger
The paper is focused on Taylor series expansion for statistical analysis of functions of random variables with special attention to correlated input random variables. It is shown that the standard approach leads to significant deviations in estimated variance of non-linear functions. Moreover, input random variables are often correlated in industrial applications; thus, it is crucial to obtain accurate estimations of partial derivatives by a numerical differencing scheme. Therefore, a novel methodology for construction of Taylor series expansion of increasing complexity of differencing schemes is proposed and applied on several analytical examples. The methodology is adapted for engineering applications by proposed asymmetric difference quotients in combination with a specific step-size parameter. It is shown that proposed differencing schemes are suitable for functions of correlated random variables. Finally, the accuracy, efficiency, and limitations of the proposed methodology are discussed
Design of a Universal B2B Web Portal for Spare Parts in Chosen Company
The master's thesis deals with the design of a universal web portal, which will allow any information system of a selected company to be interconnected with any information system of suppliers and customers. The web portal will contain information about availability, product pricing, and offers modules such as managing business partners accounts, creating special offers and ordering pre-selected products. Implementation is performed in PHP with MySQL database support. The partial aim of this master's thesis is to deploy the designed portal in the chosen company and for its business partners.
Two sensor temperature measurement
This thesis deals with PCB design and programming of microcontroller AVR, that communicates with WiFi module and Dallas brand thermometers. Wifi module sends data to internet database. In case of communication malfunction informations are saved into microcontroler´s EEPROM. When communication is restored informations are send to database.
