    Multi-Path Relay Selection Algorithm Based on the Broadcast TV

    AbstractThis paper presents a relay selection method for Broadcast TV services. This method get through the node's time-delay and power information, obtain the value of the system interrupt as to be a decision threshold, then chose the relay node. At the same time this paper proposes an optimal relay selection strategy which can minimize the system interrupt probability combination with power distribution——Multi-Path Relay Routing Protocol. This protocol can dynamically change the appropriate route according to the shifty network. Simulation results show that the protocol can extend the coverage area, reducing time-delay and increase system throughput, improve system spectral efficiency, and enhance the Qos of the Broadcast TV service

    Prevalence, associated factors and outcomes of pressure injuries in adult intensive care unit patients: the DecubICUs study

Epidemiologic data is however unavailable. We aimed to provide an international picture of the extent of pressure injuries and factors associated with ICU-acquired pressure injuries in adult ICU patients. Methods: International 1-day point-prevalence study; follow-up for outcome assessment until hospital discharge (maximum 12 weeks). Factors associated with ICU-acquired pressure injury and hospital mortality were assessed by generalised linear mixed-effects regression analysis. Results: Data from 13,254 patients in 1117 ICUs (90 countries) revealed 6747 pressure injuries; 3997 (59.2%) were ICU-acquired. Overall prevalence was 26.6% (95% confidence interval [CI] 25.9–27.3). ICU-acquired prevalence was 16.2% (95% CI 15.6–16.8). Sacrum (37%) and heels (19.5%) were most affected. Factors independently associated with ICU-acquired pressure injuries were older age, male sex, being underweight, emergency surgery, higher Simplified Acute Physiology Score II, Braden score 3 days, comorbidities (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, immunodeficiency), organ support (renal replacement, mechanical ventilation on ICU admission), and being in a low or lower-middle income-economy. Gradually increasing associations with mortality were identified for increasing severity of pressure injury: stage I (odds ratio [OR] 1.5; 95% CI 1.2–1.8), stage II (OR 1.6; 95% CI 1.4–1.9), and stage III or worse (OR 2.8; 95% CI 2.3–3.3). Conclusion: Pressure injuries are common in adult ICU patients. ICU-acquired pressure injuries are associated with mainly intrinsic factors and mortality. Optimal care standards, increased awareness, appropriate resource allocation, and further research into optimal prevention are pivotal to tackle this important patient safety threat

    Design and evaluation of a light-field multi-wavelength pyrometer

    This letter describes the design and implementation of a multi-wavelength light-field pyrometer, where six-channel radiation images were captured with one CMOS sensor. Such capability is achieved by placing a 2 × 3 filter array in front of the main lens of an unfocused light-field camera, such that discrete wavelength and radiation intensity can be simultaneously recorded. It demonstrates that through black-body furnace experiments, how multi-channel radiation images can be extracted from one raw light-field multispectral image, and how accurate 2D temperature distribution can be recovered by optimization algorithms.Published versionThis work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant Nos. 12172222 and 12002209) and the Aero Engine Corporation of China (Grant No. HFZL2020CXY014-2)

    Leaching of Chalcopyrite under Bacteria–Mineral Contact/Noncontact Leaching Model

    Bacteria–mineral contact and noncontact leaching models coexist in the bioleaching process. In the present paper, dialysis bags were used to study the bioleaching process by separating the bacteria from the mineral, and the reasons for chalcopyrite surface passivation were discussed. The results show that the copper leaching efficiency of the bacteria–mineral contact model was higher than that of the bacteria–mineral noncontact model. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) were used to discover that the leaching process led to the formation of a sulfur film to inhibit the diffusion of reactive ions. In addition, the deposited jarosite on chalcopyrite surface was crystallized by the hydrolysis of the excess Fe3+ ions. The depositions passivated the chalcopyrite leaching process. The crystallized jarosite in the bacteria EPS layer belonged to bacteria–mineral contact leaching system, while that in the sulfur films belonged to the bacteria–mineral noncontact system

    Climatic Variability Determines the Biological Diversity and Function of a Mixed Forest in Northeastern China at the Local-Scale

    The adaptation to climatic variability and spatiotemporal distinctions in floristic and microbial assembly is important in forest ecology, especially in the context of biological diversity and functional traits. We investigated climatic variables, plant traits, edaphic properties, and microbial dimensions from various plots with an elevation gradient in a broad-leaved-Korean pine mixed forest. With increasing elevation, isothermality significantly increased; however, temperature and precipitation seasonality, as well as the mean temperature of the warmest quarter, significantly declined. Furthermore, high elevation sites were characterized by increased stand basal areas (Ba) and ectomycorrhizal (EM) tree abundance but featured decreases in the abundance of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) trees and the values of community-weighted mean (CWM) foliar traits (e.g., leaf area, leaf nitrogen content and leaf phosphorus content). Moreover, soil nutrient status, fungal and bacterial diversity indices, fungal saprotrophs, and bacterial function groups related to nitrite oxidation, ammonia oxidation, and nitrate denitrification were all negatively correlated to the elevation increment. In contrast, high elevation sites were characterized by enhanced EM growth and bacterial nitrogen fixation groups. Correlation analysis showed that the microbial diversity and relative abundances of microbial functional groups in soil were significantly influenced by climatic variability, CWM foliar traits and soil nutrient status. These findings demonstrate that the forces driving biological processes along climatic gradients are predictably in tandem with, but related to different extents, to the spatial compartmentalization of climatic variability in forest ecosystems at local scales

    Development and validation of the head and neck cancer psychosocial distress scale (HNCPDS) to identify patients at high risk for psychological problems : a multicenter study

    Abstract To develop the Head and Neck Cancer Psychosocial Distress Scale (HNCPDS) with the aim of identifying high-risk individuals for psychosocial distress among patients, and to assess its reliability, validity and applicability. Using the classical test theory, a total of 435 head and neck cancer patients from six tertiary hospitals in China were recruited for developing the HNCPDS. Delphi expert consultation and item analysis were used to improve the content validity of the preliminary HNCPDS. Factor analysis (FA) and Structural equation modeling (SEM) were used to test the structural validity of HNCPDS. Cronbach's alpha coefficient, Spearman-Brown coefficient and Intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) were used to test the internal consistency and retest reliability of HNCPDS. Multiple stepped-linear regression was used to analyze the risk factors of psychological disorder, and Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between psychosocial distress and quality of life (QOL). The HNCPDS consisted of 14 items, which were divided into 3 subscales: 3 items for cancer discrimination, 5 items for anxiety and depression, and 6 items for social phobia. The HNCPDS had good validity [KMO coefficient was 0.947, Bartlett’s test was 5027.496 (P < 0.001), Cumulative variance contribution rate was 75.416%, and all factor loadings were greater than 0.55], reliability (Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.954, Spearman-Brown coefficient was 0.955, test–retest reliability was 0.845) and acceptability [average completion time (14.31 ± 2.354 min) and effective completion rate of 90.63%]. Financial burden, sex, age and personality were found to be independent risk factors for HNCPDS (P < 0.05), and patients with higher HNCPDS scores reported a lower QOL (P < 0.01). The HNCPDS is effective and reliable in early identification and assessment of the level of psychosocial distress in patients with head and neck cancer, which can provide an effective basis for health education, psychological counseling, and social support in the future
