// ABSTRACT: We conducted a literature search to identify instruments and studies related to risk perception and self-care measures for COVID-19. There are no precedents for an instrument that measures the risk perception of COVID-19 in Chile. This research aims to validate by experts judgment an instrument that measures risk perception and adherence to self-care recommendations. We are based on the methodology of the Lawshe to calculate the Content Validity Ratio (RVC´) modified by Tristán. Thirty-four items were evaluated, 18 for risk perception and 16 for self-care measures. We used the criteria of relevance, clarity and representativeness. Five experts participated in this study, the experts rated the complete test with RVC 'of 0.91. The RVC' of the domain of risk perception was 0.82 and 1.0 for the self-care domain. Three items were removed. Having an instrument of this type will allow to determine the risk perception and adherence to self-care measures against COVID-19 in the Chilean population. Therefore, helping in public policy decision making. This instrument should be applied in a subset of the Chilean population to continue with the validation process

4 pages, 2 figuresIn May 2022 and June 2023 two oceanographic cruises were carried out around the Ionian Islands with the aim of defining the real geometry of the strike-slip fault system of Kefalonia and of the reverse faults present south of Zakynthos. The acquired multidisciplinary and multiresolution data will also allow to understand the dynamics of the area offshore the Peoloponnese peninsula, the deformation of the surface sediments at the transition of the two systems, i.e. from reverse fault system to strike-slip fault system, and the relationship between the recorded seismicity and mapped fault activity. To date, the analysis of the processed data has allowed us to define the tectonic and morphological complexity of the fault system affecting the investigated area. The yellowjacket wasp, Vespula germanica F., is considered a serious pest of productive and recreational activities worldwide. A pathogenicity study was carried out with 29 strains of Metarhizium anisopliae and 30 of Beauveria bassiana against worker and male wasps. Wasps of the same age were fed with liquid sugar baits containing 1 x 108 conidia mL-1 suspensions of each strain. The highest mortality and sporulation were obtained with the strains Qu-B941 and Qu-B933 of Beauveria bassiana, reaching 79 and 95% mortality for workers and 66 and 73% for males, respectively. The strains were tested on workers of V. germanica with increasing amounts of bait from 0 to 1 x 108 conidia mL-1. The results also showed that 1 x 108 conidia mL-1 increased up to 90 and 97% the mortality of workers with Qu-B941 and Qu-B933 strains, respectively.

Dalaca pallens (Blanchard) is a pest with great impact on grassland production in Chile. The objective of this research was to evaluate the use of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) against D. pallens larvae. Twenty EPN isolates, collected along Chile, were used for nematode selection. The experimental unit consisted of five 50-mL plastic vials filled with Nothofagus dombeyi sawdust and inoculated with 40 dauers per vial. The experimental design was a completely randomized with four replicates per treatment. The results showed that isolate QU N3 ( Steinernema australe ) and QU N13 ( Steinernema unicornum ) produced the highest mortality, with 100 and 95% respectively and no differences (P < 0.001) between both. Later, these two isolates were used to calculate the lethal concentration (LC50 and LC90). Concentrations of 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 dauers per 50-mL plastic vials filled with Nothofagus sawdust were evaluated. Then, a single larva of D. pallens was added to each vial and incubated for 13 d. The results showed that LC50 and LC90 were equivalent to 14 and 39 dauers mL-1 for isolate QU N3, while for isolate QUN13 these figures were 14 and 48 dauers mL-1. Consequently, there are native isolates of EPN with the ability to control D. pallens larvae, which require future test under field conditions

A systematic programme of surveys for entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) was done in Chile between 2006 and 2008. The survey spanned the principal ecosystems of mainland Chile as well as a number of islands, and covered a wide range of habitats including the Atacama Desert, Andean Altiplano, temperate rainforests and subpolar territory. Nearly 1400 soil samples were collected, of which 7 % were positive for EPN. Of 101 EPN isolates obtained, 94 were Steinernema spp. and seven were Heterorhabditis sp. Of the 94 Steinernema isolates, 39 were identified as Steinernema feltiae, the remainder being distributed between two new species, S. unicornum (52 records) and S. australe (three records). The Heterorhabditis isolates, all designated as Heterorhabditis sp.1, are referred to herein as H. cf. safricana. Steinernema feltiae and S. unicornum were collected predominately in the south of Chile and were obtained from a range of habitats, including forests, open grassland, montane soils and coastal zones; neither species was recovered from the far north of the country (viz., desert soils in the Norte Grande region). Steinernema australe was found in only three soil samples, all from humid, cool, coastal localities in the south. Heterorhabditis cf. safricana was recovered from the northern regions, with most isolates found in or on the periphery of the Atacama Desert; they were not recovered from cooler, more humid regions of southern Chile. Molecular information indicated there were two subgroups of both S. unicornum and S. feltiae, with a geographical, intraspecific split of subgroups between the most southerly and the more central survey zones. All isolates were collected by ex situ baiting with waxmoth larvae and the natural hosts are unknown
