    Searching and Ranking the Suitable Web Services with the Ontology-Based Measurements

    One of the major problems for seamlessly electronic business is how to find a suitable web services. Only the syntax and semantic comparison do not precisely find the suitable web services for they are procedures embedded with a complicated thought. In this paper, we propose an effective approach based on the ontology to solve this problem. With the help of ontology-based metrics, we can measure a web service matching degree to a given request and determine the rank in which the advertisement matches the request. Simulations are also performed, and the results show that our method can have a good precision and recall rate

    Rural tourism being one of most influencing industries in Malaysia, in particular, the state of Sarawak.Competitiveness to a host destination especially in rural tourism has always be a concern to the stakeholders. As a result, increase competitive advantage to a host destination is somehow necessary if rural tourism is valued and to be invested for future development.Thus, the theory of resource based view underpins the proposed research framework and intends to investigate the influence of tri-dimensional impacts on rural tourism competitive advantagefrom local communities’ perspectives. This is the first known study to adopt community support as the moderating variable to examine the proposed constructs. A total of 222 respondentswere used for statistical analysis. To assess the developed model, SmartPLS (version 3.2.6) is applied based on path modeling and then bootstrapping. The results revealed that socio-cultural impacts and environmental impactsare significantly and positively correlated to rural tourism competitive advantagefrom the communities’ perspectives.As per expectation, the findings also revealed that community support exists in moderating the relationship among environmental impacts and rural tourism destination competitive advantage

    A metabolite-derived protein modification integrates glycolysis with KEAP1-NRF2 signalling.

    Mechanisms that integrate the metabolic state of a cell with regulatory pathways are necessary to maintain cellular homeostasis. Endogenous, intrinsically reactive metabolites can form functional, covalent modifications on proteins without the aid of enzymes1,2, and regulate cellular functions such as metabolism3-5 and transcription6. An important 'sensor' protein that captures specific metabolic information and transforms it into an appropriate response is KEAP1, which contains reactive cysteine residues that collectively act as an electrophile sensor tuned to respond to reactive species resulting from endogenous and xenobiotic molecules. Covalent modification of KEAP1 results in reduced ubiquitination and the accumulation of NRF27,8, which then initiates the transcription of cytoprotective genes at antioxidant-response element loci. Here we identify a small-molecule inhibitor of the glycolytic enzyme PGK1, and reveal a direct link between glycolysis and NRF2 signalling. Inhibition of PGK1 results in accumulation of the reactive metabolite methylglyoxal, which selectively modifies KEAP1 to form a methylimidazole crosslink between proximal cysteine and arginine residues (MICA). This posttranslational modification results in the dimerization of KEAP1, the accumulation of NRF2 and activation of the NRF2 transcriptional program. These results demonstrate the existence of direct inter-pathway communication between glycolysis and the KEAP1-NRF2 transcriptional axis, provide insight into the metabolic regulation of the cellular stress response, and suggest a therapeutic strategy for controlling the cytoprotective antioxidant response in several human diseases

    Controllable drivers that influence tourists’ satisfaction and revisit intention to Semenggoh Nature Reserve: the moderating impact of destination image

    Ecotourism is a foremost promoted tourism product by the Malaysian government and significantly contributed to rural communities’ income. The objective of this study was to explore the empirical evidence of the relationships among service quality, satisfaction, and revisit intention to an ecotourism site in Sarawak, namely, Semenggoh Nature Reserve by considering the moderating effect of the destination image. A total of 157 international and domestic tourists who visited the Semenggoh Nature Reserve took part voluntarily in this study. WarpPLS 6.0 software was used to perform the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling and hypotheses testing. The results revealed that service quality was found to significantly and positively impacting satisfaction, whereas satisfaction was found to drive revisit intentions. Additionally, the destination image was found to have a significant positive impact on tourist’s satisfaction. The study further revealed that the destination image does not enhance the relationship between satisfaction and revisit intention

    Allele-specific miRNA-binding analysis identifies candidate target genes for breast cancer risk

    Most breast cancer (BC) risk-associated single-nucleotide polymorphisms (raSNPs) identified in genome-wide association studies (GWAS) are believed to cis-regulate the expression of genes. We hypothesise that cis-regulatory variants contributing to disease risk may be affecting microRNA (miRNA) genes and/or miRNA binding. To test this, we adapted two miRNA-binding prediction algorithms-TargetScan and miRanda-to perform allele-specific queries, and integrated differential allelic expression (DAE) and expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) data, to query 150 genome-wide significant ( P≤5×10-8 ) raSNPs, plus proxies. We found that no raSNP mapped to a miRNA gene, suggesting that altered miRNA targeting is an unlikely mechanism involved in BC risk. Also, 11.5% (6 out of 52) raSNPs located in 3'-untranslated regions of putative miRNA target genes were predicted to alter miRNA::mRNA (messenger RNA) pair binding stability in five candidate target genes. Of these, we propose RNF115, at locus 1q21.1, as a strong novel target gene associated with BC risk, and reinforce the role of miRNA-mediated cis-regulation at locus 19p13.11.     Connections of the human orbitofrontal cortex and inferior frontal gyrus

    The direct connections of the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) were traced with diffusion tractography imaging and statistical analysis in 50 humans, to help understand better its roles in emotion and its disorders. The medial OFC and ventromedial prefrontal cortex have direct connections with the pregenual and subgenual parts of the anterior cingulate cortex; all of which are reward-related areas. The lateral OFC (OFClat) and its closely connected right inferior frontal gyrus (rIFG) have direct connections with the supracallosal anterior cingulate cortex; all of which are punishment or nonreward-related areas. The OFClat and rIFG also have direct connections with the right supramarginal gyrus and inferior parietal cortex, and with some premotor cortical areas, which may provide outputs for the OFClat and rIFG. Another key finding is that the ventromedial prefrontal cortex shares with the medial OFC especially strong outputs to the nucleus accumbens and olfactory tubercle, which comprise the ventral striatum, whereas the other regions have more widespread outputs to the striatum. Direct connections of the OFC and IFG were with especially the temporal pole part of the temporal lobe.     AMiBA Wideband Analog Correlator

    A wideband analog correlator has been constructed for the Yuan-Tseh Lee Array for Microwave Background Anisotropy. Lag correlators using analog multipliers provide large bandwidth and moderate frequency resolution. Broadband IF distribution, backend signal processing and control are described. Operating conditions for optimum sensitivity and linearity are discussed. From observations, a large effective bandwidth of around 10 GHz has been shown to provide sufficient sensitivity for detecting cosmic microwave background variations.Comment: 28 pages, 23 figures, ApJ in press
