    Get PDF
Compared with the traditional fixed test and auxiliary measurement ship, the measurement of the underwater radiated noise by using a vessel’s own towed array has many advantages, such as flexible, convenient, low cost, and so on. In this paper, the previous researches on this method are summarized. From the view of implementing this technique, the method has been divided into four aspects: towed array design, U-turn manoeuvre, underwater sound propagation and towed array signal processing. Overall, this technology is practical and feasible, and has a good application prospect. Next, combined with a large number of experiments, further study on the selected principle of the towed array and U-turn technical indicators will be done

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C12H11N2O4)2(H2O)4]·4H2O, contains one-half of the complex molecule and two uncoordinated water molecules. The four water O atoms in the equatorial plane around the ZnII centre ( symmetry) form a distorted square-planar arrangement, while the distorted octahedral coordination geometry is completed by the O atoms of the zwitterionic 2-methylbenzimidazolium-1,3-diacetate ligands in the axial positions. The benzimidazole ring system is planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.041 (3) Å. Intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a non-planar six-membered ring. In the crystal structure, strong intra- and intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a three-dimensional network. π–π contacts between benzimidazole rings [centroid–centroid distance = 3.899 (1) Å] may further stabilize the structure

m5U-GEPred: prediction of RNA 5-methyluridine sites based on sequence-derived and graph embedding features.

5-Methyluridine (m5U) is one of the most common post-transcriptional RNA modifications, which is involved in a variety of important biological processes and disease development. The precise identification of the m5U sites allows for a better understanding of the biological processes of RNA and contributes to the discovery of new RNA functional and therapeutic targets. Here, we present m5U-GEPred, a prediction framework, to combine sequence characteristics and graph embedding-based information for m5U identification. The graph embedding approach was introduced to extract the global information of training data that complemented the local information represented by conventional sequence features, thereby enhancing the prediction performance of m5U identification. m5U-GEPred outperformed the state-of-the-art m5U predictors built on two independent species, with an average AUROC of 0.984 and 0.985 tested on human and yeast transcriptomes, respectively. To further validate the performance of our newly proposed framework, the experimentally validated m5U sites identified from Oxford Nanopore Technology (ONT) were collected as independent testing data, and in this project, m5U-GEPred achieved reasonable prediction performance with ACC of 91.84%. We hope that m5U-GEPred should make a useful computational alternative for m5U identification

BACKGROUD: Leptospira interrogans is the major causative agent of leptospirosis, a worldwide zoonotic disease. Hemorrhage is a typical pathological feature of leptospirosis. Binding of von Willebrand factor (vWF) to platelet glycoprotein-Ibα (GPIbα) is a crucial step in initiation of platelet aggregation. The products of L. interrogans vwa-I and vwa-II genes contain vWF-A domains, but their ability to induce hemorrhage has not been determined. METHODS: Human (Hu)-platelet- and Hu-GPIbα-binding abilities of the recombinant proteins expressed by L. interrogans strain Lai vwa-I and vwa-II genes (rLep-vWA-I and rLep-vWA-II) were detected by flowcytometry, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC). Hu-platelet aggregation and its signaling kinases and active components were detected by lumiaggregometry, Western analysis, spectrophotometry and confocal microscopy. Hu-GPIbα-binding sites in rLep-vWA-I and rLep-vWA-II were identified by SPR/ITC measurements. FINDINGS: Both rLep-vWA-I and rLep-vWA-II were able to bind to Hu-platelets and inhibit rHu-vWF/ristocetin-induced Hu-platelet aggregation, but Hu-GPIbα-IgG, rLep-vWA-I-IgG and rLep-vWA-II-IgG blocked this binding or inhibition. SPR and ITC revealed a tight interaction between Hu-GPIbα and rLep-vWA-I/rLep-vWA-II with K INTERPRETATION: The products of L. interrogans vwa-I and vwa-II genes induce hemorrhage by competitive inhibition of vWF-mediated Hu-platelet aggregation

Effects of Sangu Decoction on Osteoclast Activity in a Rat Model of Breast Cancer Bone Metastasis

Bone metastasis (BM) is a major clinical problem for which current treatments lack full efficacy. The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Sangu Decoction (SGD) has been widely used to treat BM in China. However, no in vivo experiments to date have investigated the effects of TCM on osteoclast activity in BM. In this study, the protective effect and probable mechanism of SGD were evaluated. The model was established using the breast cancer MRMT-1 cells injected into the tibia of rat. SGD was administrated, compared with Zoledronic acid as a positive control. The development of the bone tumor and osteoclast activity was monitored by radiological analysis. TRAP stain was used to identify osteoclasts quantity and activity. TRAP-5b in serum or bone tumor and TRAP mRNA were also quantified. Radiological examination showed that SGD inhibited tumor proliferation and preserved the cortical and trabecular bone structure. In addition, a dramatic reduction of TRAP positive osteoclasts was observed and TRAP-5b levels in serum and bone tumor decreased significantly. It also reduced the mRNA expression of TRAP. The results indicated that SGD exerted potent antiosteoclast property that could be directly related to its TRAP inhibited activity. In addition it prevented bone tumor proliferation in BM model

Abstract: The incident shock wave generally has a strong effect on the transversal injection field in cold kerosene-fueled supersonic flow, possibly due to its affecting the interaction between incoming flow and fuel through various operation conditions. This study is to address scale effect of various injection diameters on the interaction between incident shock wave and transversal cavity injection in a cold kerosene-fueled scramjet combustor. The injection diameters are separately specified as from 0.5 to 1.5mm in 0.5mm increments when other performance parameters, including the injection angle, velocity and pressure drop are all constant. A combined three dimensional Couple Level Set & Volume of Fluids (CLSVOF) approach with an improved K-H & R-T model is used to characterize penetration height, span expansion area, angle of shock wave and sauter mean diameter (SMD) distribution of the kerosene droplets with/without considering evaporation. Our results show that the injection orifice surely has a great scale effect on the transversal injection field in cold kerosene-fueled supersonic flows. Our findings show that the penetration depth, span angle and span expansion area of the transverse cavity jet are increased with the injection diameter, and that the kerosene droplets are more prone to breakup and atomization at the outlet of the combustor for the orifice diameter of 1.5mm. The calculation predictions are compared against the reported experimental measurements and literatures with good qualitative agreement. The simulation results obtained in this study can provide the evidences for better understanding the underlying mechanism of kerosene atomization in cold supersonic flow and scramjet design improvement

The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Pd2(NO3)4(C58H52N2P4)], contains one half-molecule, in which the central benzene ring is located on a crystallographic centre of inversion. The Pd atom has a distorted square-planar coordination consisting of two P and two O atoms. In the crystal structure, intermolecular C—H⋯O interactions link the molecules into chains, and π–π contacts between the phenyl rings [centroid–centroid distance = 3.928 (3) Å] may further stabilize the structure
