    Finite element analysis of coupled vibration for hoisting cable with time-varying length

    The coupled axial-torsional responses of the hoisting cable with time-varying length are investigated in order to predict the longitudinal vibration more accurately. The equations of motion are formulated by Hamilton’s principle and the finite element method (FEM), in which a variable-length cable element is introduced. In order to validate this theoretical model, an ADAMS simulation model is established in the framework of the multi-body system dynamic. The result shows that the numerical solution is in reasonably good agreement with the ADAMS simulation. The frequencies of the cables with the coupling considered and neglected are analyzed by varying the excitation frequency, which indicates that the coupling effect reduces the natural frequency of the cable and the maximum amplitude shifts from the resonance region to the deceleration stage as the coupling coefficient increases

    Coupled vibration of hoisting cable in cable-guided hoisting system with different swivels

    In most cases, the hoisting cable in the cable-guided hoisting system is connected to the hoisting bucket with the swivel. The coupled longitudinal-torsional responses of the hoisting cable with time-varying length are investigated. The hoisting cable and two guiding cables are discretized by employing the assumed modes method, while the equations of motion are derived using Lagrange equations of the first kind, where a coefficient λ varying from 0 to 1 is introduced to represent the free spinning, proportional and self-locking swivels. The longitudinal and torsional displacements with different swivels are obtained. The results indicate the torsional displacement in the free spinning swivel is much larger than that in the proportional and there is one resonance in the former, while the longitudinal resonance in the free spinning swivel occurs earlier than that in the other two, which implies the system frequencies decrease. In addition, the presented model could also be used to describe the coupled vibration in the rigid rail-guided hoisting system but needs more modes

    The Research of Reverse-Time Migration for Cross-Hole Seismic

    Cross-hole seismic is the leading technology of development seismology, which is still developing and improving. With the development of down-hole acquisition equipment, cross-hole seismic acquisition technology is getting mature, providing better data for imaging. According to the features of cross-hole survey and cross-hole data, we put forward a reverse-time migration method which is suitable for the wave equation for cross-hole seismic data. We propose finite difference scheme of higher order, and then derive its stability condition in cross-hole seismic. The frequency dispersion problem in cross-hole seismic wave field extrapolation is also discussed. Cross correlation imaging condition is used to realize migration, and Laplace filter is applied to remove low-frequency noise from migration section. Thus finite-difference reverse-time migration method for cross-hole seismic is established. Finally, we build geological models with anomalous ellipsoids, and apply cross-hole seismic wave field simulation and migration to them, thus our method proves its effectiveness.     Surface Functionalization of Black Phosphorus via Amine Compounds and Its Impacts on the Flame Retardancy and Thermal Decomposition Behaviors of Epoxy Resin.

    Recently, lots of effort has been placed into stabilizing black phosphorus (BP) in the air to improve its compatibility with polymers. Herein, BP was chemically functionalized by aliphatic amine (DETA), aromatic amine (PPDA) and cyclamine (Pid) via a nucleophilic substitution reaction, aiming to develop an intensively reactive BP flame retardant for epoxy resin (EP). The -NH2 group on BP-DETA, BP-PPDA and BP-Pid reacted with the epoxide group at different temperatures. The lowest temperature was about 150 °C for BP-DETA. The impacts of three BP-NH2 were compared on the flame retardancy and thermal decomposition of EP. At 5 wt% loading, EP/BP-NH2 all passed UL 94 V 0 rating. The limiting oxygen index (LOI) of EP/BP-PPDA was as high as 32.3%. The heat release rate (HRR) of EP/BP-DETA greatly decreased by 46% and char residue increased by 73.8%, whereas HRR of EP/BP-Pid decreased by 11.5% and char residue increased by 50.8%, compared with EP. Average effective heat of combustion (av-EHC) of EP/BP-Pid was lower than that of EP/BP-DETA and EP/BP-PPDA. In view of the flame-retardant mechanism, BP nanosheets functionalized with aliphatic amine and aromatic amine played a dominant role in the condensed phase, while BP functionalized with cyclamine was more effective in the gas phase.post-print74881 K

    NF90 regulates inducible IL-2 gene expression in T cells

    Activation of T cells induces the production of T cell growth and survival factor interleukin (IL) 2. Regulatory T cells intrinsically fail to induce IL-2 expression upon activation and can suppress IL-2 production in conventional T cells. Thus, the control of IL-2 expression is critically important to T cell immune responses, yet the mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Nuclear factor (NF) 90 is a zinc-finger DNA- and double-stranded RNA-binding protein subunit that binds specifically to the antigen receptor response element (ARRE)/NF of activated T cells target sequence in the IL-2 proximal promoter. Inducible binding of NF90 to the IL-2 promoter in vivo is shown by chromatin immunoprecipitation. NF90 gene-targeted mice exhibit perinatal lethality. Compared with newborn NF90+/+ mice, newborn NF90−/− mice demonstrate severe impairment of IL-2 expression. Compared with wild-type cells, T cells deficient in NF90 are impaired in ARRE and IL-2 transcriptional activation and IL-2 mRNA stabilization. Fetal liver cells from NF90 gene-targeted mice were transplanted into irradiated adult recombination activating gene (RAG)–2−/− and IL-2Rγ−/− mice deficient in T cells, B cells, and natural killer cells. NF90+/+- and NF90−/−-RAG chimeric mice showed grossly normal repopulation of the thymus and spleen, but only NF90−/− T cells were severely impaired in IL-2 gene expression. Compared with littermates, NF90−/− RAG chimeric mice exhibited profound T cell lymphocytopenia in the peripheral circulation. Thus, NF90 regulates inducible IL-2 transcription, mRNA stability, and gene expression in T cells and represents a novel therapeutic target for the modulation of T cell immune responses

    Effect of Aerobic Exercise on Inflammatory Markers in Healthy Middle-Aged and Older Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

    Background: Chronic inflammation plays a significant role in accelerating the aging process and is closely associated with the initiation and progression of a broad range of age-related diseases. Physical exercise is considered beneficial in alleviating these conditions, but the effects of aerobic exercise on inflammatory markers in a healthy population should be furtherly clarified.Objective: The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the effect of aerobic exercise on inflammatory markers in middle-aged and older adults.Methods: The literature search was conducted utilizing PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and the Cochrane Library from their inception through April 2018, and the reference lists were screened to identify appropriate studies. Only randomized controlled trials that investigated the effect of aerobic exercise on inflammatory markers in middle-aged and older adults were eligible for this review.Results: Eleven studies involving 1,250 participants were retrieved from the databases for analysis. The pooled results showed that aerobic exercise significantly reduced inflammatory markers (C-reactive protein (CRP): SMD = 0.53, 95% CI 0.26–0.11, p = 0.0002; tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α): SMD = 0.75, 95% CI 0.31–1.19, p = 0.0007; interleukin 6 (IL-6): SMD = 0.75, 95% CI 0.31–1.19, p = 0.0007). No significant improvement was found in relation to interleukin 4 (IL-4).Conclusions: Aerobic exercise may have a positive effect on reduction of CRP, TNF-α, and IL-6 in middle-aged and older adults. Further randomized controlled trials (RCTs) need to be conducted to determine the effect of aerobic exercise on additional inflammatory markers in the population of middle-aged and older adults

    Emission of PAHs, NPAHs and OPAHs from residential honeycomb coal briquette combustion

    Coal combustion is one of the most significant sources of air pollution in China. In this study, emission factors (EFs) of 15 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), 26 nitrated PAHs (NPAHs) and 6 oxygenated PAHs (OPAHs) were determined in five different coals with different geological maturity (vitrinite reflectance <i>R</i><sub>O</sub> = 0.77–1.88%) burned in the form of honeycomb briquettes. The total EFs ranged from 9.82 to 215 mg kg<sup>–1</sup> for PAHs, 0.14 to 1.88 mg kg<sup>–1</sup> for NPAHs and 4.47 to 20.8 mg kg<sup>–1</sup> for OPAHs. Measured EFs and gas-particle partitioning varied depending on the geological maturity. The lowest EFs were found in anthracite. The proportion of PAHs, NPAHs and OPAHs in gaseous phase increasing with increased geological maturity. The coal with higher geological maturity produced more 3-ring PAHs. On the basis of the statistical analysis for the residential sector of China in 2008, PAHs, NPAHs and OPAHs emitted from residential honeycomb coal briquettes were 4.36 Gg, 0.03 Gg and 0.47 Gg in 2007, respectively. By 2020, the emission would decrease to 2.18 Gg, 0.02 Gg and 0.24 Gg for PAHs, NPAHs and OPAHs due to the increasing usage of new energy resources. If only anthracite is used as the residential coal, 93% PAHs, 87% NPAHs and 71% OPAHs would be reduced in 2020
