A study was conducted to evaluate the effect of phosphorus supplementation in the formulated fish diet on carcass quality of Nile tilapia in net-cages suspended in fertilized earthen ponds. In the experiment 3% di-calcium phosphate (DCP), 3% triple supper phosphate (TSP) and 7% 16:20 inorganic fertilizer were added as phosphorous sources to three diets containing fish meal as main protein ingredient. Feeding tilapia in net-cages with these diets significantly (p<O.OS) improved the carcass quality and bone phosphorous content of Nile tilapia over fish fed with same diet without phosphorous supplementation and fish given no feed. The final body composition and bone phosphorous content of Nile tilapia fed with DCP, TSP and 16:20 grade fertilizer supplemented diets were comparable

Alternative phosphorus sources for formulated fish feed

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the possibility of using inorganic fertilizer triple super phosphate (TSP), inorganic fertilizer 16:20 (a 16:20 grade fertilizer contains 16 percent N and 20 percent P20 5), rice-bran and duck-manure as phosphorus sources in formulated fish feed for Nile tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus). Experiment was conducted for a period of 2 months in net-cages suspended in fertilized earthen ponds and all male sex-reversed Nile tilapia (9.39- 10.37 g) were used in the experiment. Seven treatments including one non-feed treatment were used in this experiment. Treatment 1 (non-feed), treatment 2 (-P) where fish fed with phosphorus non-supplemented diet acted as control 1 and treatment 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 where fish fed with 3% di-calcium phosphate (DCP), 3% triple supper phosphate (TSP), 7% 16:20 inorganic fertilizer, 30% rice-bran and 30% duck-manure supplemented diet, respectively. Results showed that the TSP and 16:20 grade inorganic fertilizer supplementation in diets as phosphorus sources were equivalent to DCP (Di-calcium phosphate) supplementation in terms of growth performance, feed utilization efficiency and final body composition of Nile tilapia. Ricebran and duck-manure were not found as good phosphorus sources

The influences of transformational leadership on employee employability: Evidence from China

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the mediating role of job characteristics and social exchange in transformational leadership (TFL) and employability relationship. Design/methodology/approach The sample is composed of 760 participants employed in Yangtze Delta and Pearl River Delta in China. The participants have worked under their line manager for more than one year. In order to better prevent data from possible common method bias, two waves of surveys (in 2014) on a stratified sample, included a mix of industries, such as construction, manufacturing, finance, insurance and communications, were used to investigate the proposed relationship between TFL, job characteristics, social exchange and employability. Findings The research has empirically tested the relationship between TFL and employability. While previous research has analyzed the relationship between them, the authors have enriched existing literature by exploring the mediating factors and illustrating the importance of indirect effects. Besides the direct effect, the results of this study showed that TFL could also improve employees’ employability through job demands, skill discretion, decision authority, perceived organizational support and team–member exchange, but not leader–member exchange. Originality/value The study opens up a debate around the employability of employees as it stands apart from the performance measurement. The authors believe that this new mediating model can provide an insight into complex mechanisms of employability enhancement from the perspective of leader development

Unsteady Unidirectional Flow of Voigt Fluid through the Parallel Microgap Plates with Wall Slip and Given Inlet Volume Flow Rate Variations

    Get PDF
In order to solve the velocity profile and pressure gradient of the unsteady unidirectional slip flow of Voigt fluid, Laplace transform method is adopted in this research. Between the parallel microgap plates, the flow motion is induced by a prescribed arbitrary inlet volume flow rate which varies with time. The velocity slip condition on the wall and the flow conditions are known. In this paper, two basic flow situations are solved, which are a suddenly started and a constant acceleration flow respectively. Based on the above solutions, linear acceleration and oscillatory flow are also considered

Towards a music visualization on robot (MVR) prototype

© 2018 IEEE. This paper presents a Music Visualization on Robot (MVR) prototype system which automatically links the flashlight, color and emotion of a robot through music. The MVR system is divided into three portions. Firstly, the system calculates the waiting time for a flashlight by beat tracking. Secondly, the system calculates the emotion correlated with music mood. Thirdly, the system links the color with emotion. To illustrate the prototype on a robot, the prototype implementation is based on a programmable robot called Zenbo because Zenbo has 8 LED light colors on 2 wheels and 24 face emotions to support various compositions

Production of freshwater prawns in the Mekong Delta

    Get PDF
Currently there are 2 sources of freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii production in Vietnam - natural production from the rivers and canals and aquaculture production from ponds and ricefields. An account is given of the production of this prawn in the Mekong Delta. The prawns are harvested primarily by a common small scale method using shelter traps. The total annual freshwater prawn production in Vietnam during 1985-90 was reported to vary from 5000 to 8000 tons, most of it from natural fisheries; although there are no official statistics on the production of farmed prawns, the amount is believed to be very small. The grow-out system includes intensive monospecies pond culture, and semi-intensive or extensive integrated rice-prawn or vegetable-prawn culture

© 2016 Infonomics Society. The Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HAAD) mobile e-Service is a smartphone or smart device installed with the HAAD mobile app. This connects to one or more e-services at the HAAD Cloud to facilitate healthcare services for the residents at the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A mobile device in this context can be effectively considered Internet of Things (IoT), which can provide advanced online services to both healthcare provider and requestor under the control and monitor of the HAAD. Health information is among the most sensitive information of an individual that can be collected and shared. The information that needs to be protected in the healthcare sector is often referred to as Protected Health Information (PHI). Service providers with a good reputation for privacy protection will find it easier to build a trusted relationship with their users. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) defines a set of security and privacy rules to be followed by healthcare providers in the United States of America. The HIPAA standards are designed for protecting health information. This paper discusses related privacy requirements for Mobile e-Service at the HAAD in accordance with the HIPAA privacy requirements
