This paper intends to indicate some of the effects Cláudia de Lemos’s theoretical proposal concerning language and language acquisition had on the reflection on language pathology and clinic developed, at LAEL-PUCSP, by a group of researchers who belong to the Project Language Acquisition and Language Pathology. It is also presented a brief critical review of tentative approaches to the symptom in language and the discussion I have been able to make up this moment

Considerações sobre a interpretação de escritas sintomáticas de crianças

This paper offers critical considerations against the widespread conception of language found both in theoretical and clinical approaches to children's difficulties in reading and writing, i.e., the latter is conceived of as direct representation of speech. Such a discussion leads to the development of an alternative point of view which takes into account the effects of the functioning of language in the interpretation on the relationship child-writing. Finally, this paper focuses on central issues in the field of Speech Clinic, such as relation between speech and writing.Ese artículo discute, inicialmente, la noción de escritura como representación de la habla - noción que prevalece en el tratamiento de niños con problemas de lectura y de escritura. Propone, a partir de ese momento, una visión alternativa que considera la incidencia estructurante del funcionamiento del lenguaje en la relación niño-escritura. Discute, a la continuación, cuestiones teóricas y clínicas centrales en la Clínica de Lenguaje tal como la relación habla-escritura.Este trabalho problematiza a concepção de escrita como representação da fala, posição teórica que prevalece no tratamento de crianças com problemas de leitura e escrita. Apresenta, também, uma abordagem alternativa que considera, na interpretação da relação criança-escrita, a incidência do funcionamento da linguagem. Discute, ainda, com base em materiais de sessões clínicas, implicações/ efeitos dessa mudança de paradigma na movimentação de algumas questões centrais para o atendimento na Clínica de Linguagem como, por exemplo, a relação oralidade- escrita

Os desdobramentos do fonema Jakobsoniano

O objetivo deste artigo é enfocar os desdobramentos da proposição dos traços distintivos por Jakobson (1977). Consideramos como Jakobson, a partir da obra de Saussure ([1916] 2012), pressiona noções definitórias do signo linguístico saussuriano, mais particularmente a de oposição; abrindo, com isso, espaço para a inclusão do nível acústico na cadeia da fala e, consequentemente, para as relações entre som e sentido, que são debatidas ao longo dos séculos - desde quatro séculos antes de Cristo até a atualidade. Abordamos os conceitos de oposição fonêmica, as críticas à irredutibilidade do fonema, a distintividade entre traços de sonoridade e a abertura para a consideração da expressividade da fala ao agregar o simbolismo sonoro e a noção de relação entre som e sentido linguisticamente motivada.

Falas fora de tempo e fora de lugar: Relações conflituosas da criança com a língua materna

Abstract: This paper discusses the interpretation of symptomatic speech, characterized by a remarkable and perplexing grammatical organization from which its pragmatic inadequacy is derived. The clinical dialogue, locus of symptom displacements, is driven by the hard encounter among conflicting speech chains and the unequal positions between therapist and patient. Faced with insistently disordered speech chains, clinician finds himself pressed by questions on subjectivity. Foucault (1980) is punctual: in the domain of the clinic, "the fantastic articulation between knowledge and suffering" is unavoidable: listening is challenged by subject’s difficult relationship with his speech and his conditions of speaker. The theoretical background here assumed does not see dialogue as dyadic - la langue is a third element in this relation. In this work, of a theoretical nature, the discussion is developed under the light of European Structuralism assuming, with respect to the subject, the hypothesis of the unconscious (Freud 1900 (1970)).Resumo: Este trabalho discute a problemática da interpretação de enunciados insólitos, de que decorre sua notável inadequação pragmática. O diálogo clínico, locus de deslocamentos do sintoma, é impulsionado pelo encontro tenso entre cadeias faladas conflitantes e pelas posições díspares entre terapeuta e paciente. Frente a falas insistentemente desarranjadas, um clínico vê-se pressionado pela questão do sujeito. Foucault (1980) é pontual: no domínio da clínica, “a articulação fantástica entre saber e sofrimento” é inevitável: a escuta é desafiada pela difícil relação do sujeito com sua fala e com sua condição de falante. O fundo teórico assumido afasta o diálogo como relação dual, intersubjetiva - la langue é terceiro nesta relação. Neste trabalho, de natureza teórica, a discussão é desenvolvida à luz do estruturalismo europeu e assume a hipótese do inconsciente (Freud 1900(1970)), no que diz respeito ao sujeito

RAÍZES GENÉTICAS: IMPLICAÇÕES E COMPLICAÇÕES

The topic egocentric speech/discourse plays a fundamental role in Developmental Psychology. Both Piaget and Vygotsky agree that discoursive activity is the genetic link or transitional period between two different forms of regulation of behavior. Two points will be discussed in this article. The first concerns Vygotsky’s attempt to integrate the explanatory factors taken by him as responsible for development, i. e., language and social intercourse. I call attention to the fact that it is in the communicative function that he tries to articulate the above mentioned external poles. The second questions why the author, although criticizing Piaget, sticks to the notion of “egocentric speech”. I intend to demonstrate that these issues, although apparently independent, are, nevertheless, intricately related
